GRAVITY Trailer

I will never undestand why everyone goes to talk to Cameron for 3D effects ...

Resident Evil 4 was one of the best 3D ever (and also probably the only good thing about that movie) because it was one of the only movies that understood that 3D needs BIG DEEP OF FIELD and not just the small deep of field and other techniques used to give impression of deph they use in 2D movies =P

I was dragged off to see Resident Evil 5 in 3D(same director), outside of the first 3 minutes it was completely unremarkable. Only two directors have nailed 3D as far as I'm concerned, Cameron and Scorsese.

Saw this trailer in the cinema a while back. Heard some giggles lol.

Same thing happened in my cinema when it played before Man of Steel. I was blown away some people would laugh at Cuaron's next outing. I was on the verge of yelling something at them.

I would argue that Avatar is the only film ever made that's worth seeing in 3D. And I'm not even a James Cameron/Avatar fan.

No doubt. It looked excellent!

I think its the last shot of the trailer and the insaneness of the premise,

Yeah exactly the same. During Man of steel. I thought it looked stunning but I guess people either don't recognise the name attached or have little faith and imagination of what this movie can be. Also a lack of admiration for the CG which looks really good.

Laughter is sometimes a defense mechanism when people are uncomfortable, and you have to be inhuman for this trailer to not make you uncomfortable.

They were laughing that Sandra Bullock continues to get work. I'm afraid not even Cuaron can turn a performance from her into a watchable one...

Wowed Comic Con:

@devincf: Holy fucking shit. Extended GRAVITY sequence is one of the most extraordinary things I've ever seen at #SDCC. Beyond tense and terrifying.

@EricVespe: The Gravity footage gave me anxiety. Super intense, one long take that goes from casual conversation to disaster in about 3 minutes.

@firstshowing: Ohhhh my the Gravity footage, uncut long take scene, was extraordinary. Beautiful, breathtaking, mesmerizing. Sci-fi at its finest. #SDCC

@russfischer: Is GRAVITY going to be any good? I don't know, but I've never seen anything like the long sequence just shown.

@jonchesson: Gravity footage: the coolest and most impressive one-shot I've ever seen! #Gravity #SDCC

Just saw this attached to Pacific Rim. Freakin intense trailer! Pretty much capitalizes all on my fears associated with space. Day 1.

I believe that cinema has the power to draw you in no matter the form or method used. Were you not somewhat thrilled by the Tintin extended chase take, even though it was 110% CG?
I was completely enthralled with that chase. Like you said, being CG really had no effect on how it affected me. That entire section and the opera preceding it were beautifully framed and shot.

Hmm, I don't know about that. It does look like it has pretty good CG for the most part, but some parts looked off. Sandra Bullock moving around in the suit looked like a very obviously CG suit with her head pasted inside of it.

I think it's the animations that makes it stand out the most to me, they just seem kinda off. Too exaggerated or smooth or something.

Yup. Sitting here in hall h and the footage wowed everyone. Amazing sequence. It's unreal seeing what's happening on screen and there be no explosions and the only sound is the breathing and shouting of the actors. It's a very tense feeling.

This is what I'm afraid of. Even though Children of Men is my favorite movie, I really have no interest in this because of her

When I saw Pacific Rim this trailer came on. Recognising it from watching online, I quickly told my friend who loves Children of Men, Clooney and even the Cuaron Potter film that it was him.

His reaction to the trailer - "LOOKS BORING"

I hope this film does well but :(

we all know it's gonna look gorgeous and be filmed beautifully, but i'm skeptical about how a relatively simple and short concept like this is gonna be stretched out into a 90 minutes and more movie.

i fucking love the way cuaron films though, i really do. hope its good.

I really, really hate how movies use sound in space. I know audiences need sound effects in their movies to keep them satisfied, but fuck them. Make it realistic and direct around it for petes sake. Its so annoying hearing explosion sounds.

The movie looks intense as hell. I'm not sure if I can stomach watching it in the theatre... looks very claustrophobic. :S

The trailer in 3D looked incredible, definitely going to see it that way.

Sadly people have laughed both times I saw it, it's that final shot that gets the most laughs.

Are you saying it's not like the trailer and the explosions don't make sounds?

I heard a "the fuck was that" after the trailer, and then the same people laughed all the way through the Grown Ups 2 trailer. It's gonna flop...

but it leaves me without a clue of what it'll be about.

Isn't that a good thing? Too many trailers spoiling the whole story out there.

Who gives a shit whether a movie does well. I just want to see a good movie. Whether a movie is doing well or not doesn't affect whether or not I go see it in theaters. If it did, I wouldn't have gone to see Dredd in theaters. I go by the rottentomatoes score.

What makes this sci-fi? Or does movie in space just automatically make it sci-fi?

trailer looked fantastic in front of Pacific Rim. hoping to go on as much of a media blackout as possible beyond that though.

It was pretty much confirmed this is The Sandra Bullock Show apparently. I wonder if Cuaron will be able to make her interesting by her lonesome for a full length movie.

No sound in space. No sound in the movie. Cuaron mentioned he was a tad disappointed they put it in the trailer, but the movie does not have sound in space. The extended scene shown today reflected this. It was amazing.

Really you, guys. You have to see it.
