I like the idea of focusing on more of the Lanterns vs just Hal or someone else. The whole reason Green Lantern jumped up to one of DC's premiere comic franchises is because Green Lantern: Rebirth put back forth the focus on the Corps as a whole.

Yeah, I'm down for some space cop shenanigans. Doubt they'll go full buddy cop movie on us, but having two (or three!) primary leads is a solid idea.

Idea: have Stewart as the new lantern, given the full origin story treatment. Hal's actually been a Lantern for a while now, but he hasn't been back to Earth since he got taken to Oa to take the oath. The reason why they're recruiting a new Lantern for Hal's sector is because it's becoming increasingly apparent that Earth is going to need some full-time attention, after Hal couldn't get there in time to deal with Zod.

EDIT: And hell yes to bringing back Mark Strong. Just straight up say "he was amazing, we're bringing him back, no, the old movie is still being abandoned."

Nah, he derives his power from the Earth currently. Would be neato if there was an easter egg of him in the movie like his cloak.

At one point it was based off the starheart which the guardians sent through space.

Hal is boring and let's face it, John will be the stereotypical black army guy. I'll give them points if they can make him anything but an army dude. I remember once upon a time one African American comic fan wrote in and thanked the folks doing the comic for making him a building designer because the whole back guy being in the military was even back then cliche as fuck.

And yeah Kyle use to make all sorts of things with his ring. It was his run that really built upon what the the ring could do and since then most GL comics have had greater designs used. If you see someone using only a straight beam of line it means they're not terribly creative.

Pre-crisis. Didn't happen. Although I must say the writer at the time ( I think it was Denny o'Neil) was REALLY going out of his way to hook Hal up with a ten eager without it looking creepy.

They could structure this like the Men In Black movie (hey, it's going to involve aliens anyway), with Hal as K and Jon as J - play up the respect for the veteran training the new guy on the job who gets to be the audience surrogate.

If they include Guy, I keep imagining the guy who played Stifler in the American Pie movies playing him. Same Siniestro, and we're off to a good start cast-wise.

If they want to tie it with MoS and BvS, just say Hal was away on space business or something.
