Green Man Gaming Thread: Save some green, man

Skyrim is the #1 ad on their front page. Guess they got it worked out after all! But the price isn't that great, worse than D2D's with the Prime offer. Unless of course you have hundreds of dollars saved up in referral credits like some of you do.

Is it normal that I see Skyrim as availabe for pre-order?

Yeah it is. Skyrim, Skyrim UK and Skyrim EU. Not very cheap though. $60. Better than steam(for Australia) but not that great. I'll just get the retail version for $72.

Wow, Skyrim is up on the US site too.

$53.79. When are they sending out keys? I'd like to pre load the game.

Think so. I tried the code: PERFE-CTPRE-ORDR2. and it doesn't work on Skyrim at least.
The EU version still has 20% off. But yeah, that voucher code doesn't work.

Does anyone know if there is a newer voucher code around?

Anyone know when they'll be sending out keys for Saints Row: The 3rd? Will there be any preloading?

Yeah I'd like to know too.

And go figure they put Skyrim up 2 days after I finally bought it on Steam. Oh well at least I have it preloaded and don't have to wait until release day.

Trying to buy Skyrim with my referall bonus but it doesn't seem to work.
GMG wants my credit card information and when I type it in I get to my Banks security check page and there it states the full amount on my credit card, so I cancel it.

Edit: Worked on the third try.

Another game added to my pile of shame...

Most people looking at getting Skyrim have probably already done so because GMG said Zenimax/Bethesda games wouldn't be up until next year. Did they really only just find out that they would be selling Skyrim? It seems like poor communication to me, which is going to cost them.

It seems to have just popped up randomly. I caved on Skyrim a couple days ago because I figured I wasn't going to find a decent deal and I was operating under the old news that they weren't striking a deal with Bethesda until next year most likely.

I used my credit and everything to get Saints Row for $27 but I would have rather used it to knock more off Skyrim.

That pre-order code stopped working 8 hours ago. They probably timed it in time for Skyrim, but maybe they'll come up with a new one towards the weekend.

My procrastinating in grabbing Skyrim will hopefully pay off. I think if enough of us ping them on twitter they will offer a new preorder code.
I don't have twitter, please spam them for me too. :)

So if we get SR3 from here are we getting it a little later? Steam has it for Nov 14th, but on GMG it says the 18th. Oh well worth the wait just for the nice purchase price.

GMG always lists the UK release date but the steam keys usually go out when steam pre-loading starts. From there, they will release according to your region.

I'm surprised to see Skyrim up all of a sudden. You figure they would've promoted that a bit more. I didn't buy it yet so this is good news for me.

Hrmm... save 20% by buying Skyrim from GMG (10% pre-order discount + no sales tax, which is almost 10% in Washington state), or get the ability to pre-load.

How big is the Steam download, anyway? If it's only like 6 GB or so (the listed required HDD space), I think I'll go for the monetary savings. Even on launch day, 6 GB shouldn't take longer than an hour or two.

Then again, I won't be able to play at midnight (will Skyrim even unlock at midnight?). Decisions...

Total preload was 5.8 gigs for me.

Yeah this comes as a bit of a surprise to me too considering they announced their imminent EA deal ahead of time. I'd have likely held off and bought through them also, though as it turns out it would have only saved me about 8 dollars courtesy of Cloudius gifting it to me via Steam so I'm not overly fussed.

Can't you preload anyway? I bought it from GMG about ten minutes ago and it's downloading as I type this.

Anyone need a referal link for Skyrim? It'll benefit you in the future, I'm sure! Man, too bad the discount code isn't working with skyrim.

I purchased Skyrim about 2 hours ago and the key was provided after checkout.

Same here. Just bought Skyrim a minute ago and got my key right away (US site). Pre loading now!

Trying to buy Skyrim, but it fucks up when I try to confirm payments. I get an error screen or it fails to load altogether. Good show, GMG.

edit - Oh it's the same price on D2D, I'll go there.

It was a surprise to us as well :D But a very cool one! We were in good cheer that night.

Keys are also being sent out upon purchase for we did have them going out ahead of release too, but we wanted to cover our bases and not upset people with a promise that could fall through :P

Also to celebrate the launch of an amazing RPG (which I've yet to play! :( ) we're running a brief competition! Only a small time window but still some time to get an entry in! :D

Competition Time Here!

Hey Wayward...any news on when Saints Row The Third Keys will be emailed out?

I just bought LA Noire off of Green Man Gaming, but the code they gave me is coming up "INVALID" on Steam. I bought Lord of the Rings off of Green Man last week and no issues, but whenever I key in the code for LA Noire, it comes up on Steam as invalid.

Anyone have any idea on what I can do. I would hate to have just threw 38 dollars away.

I'm pretty sure LA Noire isn't a steamworks game.

Thanks...That might be a good reason why it does not work. Strange, looking at the listing for this game and Lord of the Rings, it does not mention anything about the game being steamworks, but LOTR did activate on steam...LA Noire is available on Steam so I figured it would work. Kind of sucks, I like achievements in games and now I wont get them because this game seems not to be steamworks.
