Green Man Gaming Thread: Save some green, man

Echoing the "order not complete" error that others have been getting.

This is the second time I've tried to get something from their site, and the second time I've had this problem.

Called my credit card (chase) as a precaution and also heard that they didn't get a request from the site.

The last time this happened I submitted a ticket and they helped me out, but bleeagh, pretty inconvenient. Makes it hard to buy something impulsively when there's this consistent hassle.

Hey everyone, James from GMG here.

I know I'm not a frequent poster on NeoGAF (though the community from where I've lurked is always a very positive looking one), but just wanted to let you know that if you're one of those having any issues with payment just send me an email. Those affected will go on a little list that will be passed along to our operational team to check out.

My email is james.livett@greenmangaming.com

Alternatively you can post a PM to our FB page, whichever works for you.

Best
-James

DM'd you on Twitter. Hopefully can be sorted soon!

48h and my account is still not activated and no response from GMG team beyond copy pasted list of check you spam folder suggestions.

Well that makes it 2 lost sales since first i didn't buy game i wanted when i created account, and now i didn't buy Shogun2 for which sale has ended.

Well i guess if they don't want my money Gabe will accept them happily.

Hey James, may I ask you a question? I'm too lazy, so I'll quote myself from the Steam thread:

This is great, I finally bought Hitman Absolution, and Sniper Challenge refuses to start. The game loads, but when I try to start a new game, the opening cutscene begins, and crashes to desktop as soon as a voice starts speaking. I tried lowering everything to the minimum, including resolution, but it's still not working. Can't believe my luck, 34 bucks wasted :/
Is there anything I can do about it? I'll try updating my video drivers tonight, but if it doesn't work, is there any chance I could get a refund? I know I've redeemed Sniper Challenge on my Steam account, so there should be a way to remove it.

I've been waiting 16 fuckin hours for a reply from support.

I tried purchasing XCOM back when the North American version allowed the discount voucher, 'order failed' yet I was still charged. I spent about a week and a half -$36 short. Made a ticket, took ages for me to get any sort of response until it was finally resolved about a week and a half later. I was going to attempt to re-purchase the game after everything was sorted out, but the deal had already expired so I would have to pay full price. I'm sorry but I've had nothing but bad experiences from GMG for the longest time. Pre-ordered Red Orchestra 2, took over 2 weeks for my payment issue to get resolved. I played my game, just 2 weeks after launch.

You'd have to ask our CS guys, but I can't see it being refunded sadly. While we sell Steam keys for games provided by publishers we can't directly influence your Steam account.

James are you guys getting NBA 2K13?

Hoping to :) I'd emailed our trading team about it today in fact. We have a thread on our forums for Content requests, which I update when I have new info.

Well, if you sell a game and it isn't working, for whatever reason, don't you think you have some kind of obligation to refund it? That's just good customer service.

Aw, I can't buy a second copy of Borderlands 2 for a friend if I've already purchased one for myself.

Prooooooooooobably makes perfect business sense on their end if they sell it at a loss.

How are you expecting them to "remove" the game from your Steam game library? And why not fault the developers of the game? The first time I bought a steam key from GMG I knew any issue forward was with Steam or the developer. It's just common sense.

Yup, I contacted them. I know it's not your fault if the game doesn't work, maybe I should talk to Square Enix CS.

It's a shame, I really wanted that game.

Well, to my favor it's a preorder, the game hasn't come out yet. What I redeemed in my account is the bonus game, Sniper Challenge. That's why in my support ticket I told them I would be glad with just $30 back instead of the $34 I paid, as they won't be able to resell that SC key.

Ordered XCOM and dishonoured on discount, got an email for dishonoured but nothing for xcom and it spat an error out at me at the end of my order. Game is still in my games though, I suppose it's okay?

Yay after mere 3 days i got reply from support - telling me to try the same from Chrome browser.

The fact there is a thread just for GMG boggles my mind o_o

Just lump it into the steam thread, especially since 99% of the reason to get anything from here is steep discounts on steam keys

If you mean that you already had the game preordered, yes.

Thanks.

This thread is fortunately not as full of spam as the Steam thread. If I had to go through all the hundreds of posts in the Steam thread just to find some link for a GMG deal I'd kill myself. It's like a goddamn chatlog sometimes.

Its much easier to have this thread subscribed and occassionally check it, than to dig through the Steam thread. When I see the GMG thread I think I get reminded to check the site for deals.

Why does it bother you?

Surely you understand that, if it were lumped into the Steam thread, GMG deals would get lost very quickly, especially during times when something big happens to Steam.

Also, a Steam thread wouldn't cover the other games sold by GMG that aren't Steamworks, such as games with their own clients like MMORPGs.

Read every single post in a thread since you subscribe to it. EVERY POST

Also I don't even bother buying a game if it isn't on steam. it's too much of a pain in the butt to remember where it was and how to download it, etc

Dang, mang. Don't even need to launch Capsule to get their games started. I've got shortcuts for everything.

I automatically subscribe to every thread I post in, so no.

Even if I did, it's a lot more convenient to have all GMG related discussion in one, much smaller, thread.

nah, if we went by that logic than we should also lump in Amazon PC game deals thread as well. this makes it easier to keep track of codes and sales as well as people's experiences with this site specifically.

It's a good deal if you haven't played Skyrim yet. Even if you have played the console version I still think it is worth it just to mess around with the mods.

I have platinumed the PS3 version so I have played it a hundred hours or so. But I haven't played it in months because I bought myself a pretty computer have turned into PC gaming.

Game should be downloaded in an hour, can't wait to see how it looks. Might even put my PS3 on to do some comparing. :P
