Greta Thunberg is an annoying idiot that will turn millions off to environmental preservation

First off, this is not a "is climate change real or not" debate thread. Please spare me. This thread is about how utterly fucking annoying Greta Thunberg is.

Can someone please explain to me why thousands of adults line up to watch this godawful brat, and do so with almost breathless anticipation, as if their ears were being blessed by the words of some great prophet? Worse yet, they line up to hear such gems like:

"Young people must hold older generations accountable for the mess they have created."

Like what, Logan's Run? Fucking dipshit.

"People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are dying ... and all you talk about is money and eternal fairy tales of economic growth. How dare you?"

Yes, Greta, god fucking forbid they talk about ways to make green while going green, which is almost a goddamn necessity to convince some of these multinational conglomerates to change their ways, you stupid, simple fuck.

"You have stolen my dreams, my childhood, with your empty words."

What a drama queen. Tear that one out of your shitty diary? It must be soooooo horrible being given all this attention and winning a Nobel Prize.

And her goddamn delivery is so cringe-worthy to anyone who can look past her torrent of emotional theater and see her for what she really is: a fucking brat. Jesus, those facial expressions. That righteous indignation. They just make me want to scream, "What fucking breakthroughs in science have you come up with to reduce carbon emissions, you whiny fucking brat?"

Doesn't the world have enough proselytizers who long for both soundbite and spotlight? Where are the people that actually do something? Why don't they get acclaim?

Added Bonus: Craptastic Vox article about darling Thunberg

A visceral feeling of repulsion toward deceit and hypocrisy is also common among people on the spectrum. As Thunberg told the BBC, “I don’t fall for lies as easily as regular people, I can see through things.”

Oh shut up, you twit. Where's a fucking journalist when you need one?!

If you read her Wiki (which shows she's lead a depressing childhood), she doesn't even seem to attend school half the time as she does these tours.

Her dad doesn't like it, but gives in.

Even if she did attend school full time, she hasn't even graduated high school, and somehow thinks she has climate control expertise how to improve the environment, when the only advice she's given to all is that her life has been ruined and for countries and companies to do better.

That's great advice.

If I need advice on income tax submissions, I can't wait to listen to someone give me tax saving advice, not by helping me amass receipts and costs to apply to tax deductibles which an average person would never know about.....

..... instead I'll find a guy to give me tax advice like............ you can save on taxes by filling out the form better.

If you genuinely believe in climate change and want to find a solution, you should be angry that this child is being turned into the face of the movement.

Right? Like, this is your poster child? Some dopey little brat that shakes her fist and screams, "do better!" She's entitled and delusional.

She makes me want to hold older generations accountable for having such miserable children.

Or as you said in the other thread, for all the angry eco-warriors, why moan and complain for others to do it?

Where's all the nature lovers getting science, engineering and geology degrees where they can put their mind and career interest into real life environmental improvements for society?

Technology is always improving. As so is science knowledge. So hit the books and graduate. And instead of sitting there on Twitter nagging, work at a 9-5 job helping develop new materials or get a mechanical engineering degree and figure out how to build high quality machinery that uses little energy and pollution.

Quality gear seems to use less power over time, so some smart people are doing their part. So join in and help out more.

And if cow and pig farts are so bad for the environment. Figure out a way so animal farts aren't so toxic for the environment. Be a biologist or chemist and do your part.

Let's see how easy it is to actually make that happen in real life, as compared to someone on their tablet tweeting while watching Netflix.

I work with engineers and geologists. Most, myself included, believe that human-induced climate change is a real phenomenon but that it's a very low baseline trend that will take much, much longer than 12 years to have any significant effect on the planet. I mean this is literally what the science I'm aware of says, so emotional appeals to "#Believe scientists!" by children and other retards who haven't even read the science have no effect on me. Even though I believe that it's a real phenomenon, I don't believe that the solution is to castrate ourselves at the Altar of Intersectionality and allow socialists, communists (what's the practical difference anyway) and China to seize control of the future. To me, that's a much worse fate than the planet heating by a couple of degrees over 50+ years. That's plenty of time to develop technological solutions without allowing Useful Idiots to implement their idiotic plans and cause mass starvation.

I believe that she started all of this with genuine feelings and willing to do something relevant. But we all know how the far left acts. She's just a puppet now, being used by institutions for their own purpose.

Her "speech" was absolutely empty, full of those phrases we all know all to well and making faces and tones of voice to impact. She's been trained to do that. It's not sincere.

Nah I’m good, bro. I’m not too bothered about any of this.

Good luck to the OP finding solutions and all.
I enjoy these kind of political/SJW myself.

The more weird shit and weird people I see in the world, the better I feel. And entertaining too.

Here I am be a boring square not doing anything crazy in life, making a good living, and my biggest worry is how much money I'm going to make on my investment property when I sell it.

And then you got shit to read like Greta, the Gamestop Maam guy/girl, US politics, Jussie Smollet, Cringe thread, Alex H/Zoe Quinn debacle etc...... All this fun comes from just one forum's thread submissions.

I fully welcome this shit. Just don't do it at my front door. lol

This is pure entertainment to me. I know I’m not changing the world by posting my opinions on GAF. I change the world ever so slightly by what I do in my day job which is as far removed from politics as possible. Clown World is just a sideshow.

The moral of the story of Lisa’s activism was that the world gave no fucks about her opinions or emotions and that she was better off focusing on changing herself and the local environment around her first.
Was it? I stopped watching after season fucking 14.

I'm just waiting for the inevitable crowdfunding campaign that's super successful in allowing her to fight climate change and pay off her parents mortgage, allow them to buy the latest sweet SUV and travel around the world (by air) to support their daughters cause before it's discovered that the parents are really manupulative pieces of shit in it for thier own gain.

And the funny thing is some people may think my posts can be elitist. I can tell by some of the responses. And personally, I don't give a shit.

But really I'm not.

I don't consider myself the smartest, best looking, most athletic, or hottest ladies man. I'm just a normal dude who did university degree and got some office jobs as a career. In high school I even flunked a few courses because I was bored to death and then had to do summer classes so I can sub in those grades over the Ds and Fs so I could get accepted to university. So it shows I'm no IQ 200 visionary.

Not exactly groundbreaking Steve Jobs innovator here. Or being Michael Dell building PCs for businesses in his college dorm to found Dell Computers.

Just do the right thing, walk a straight path of no stupidity like drugs or crime, get a decent job and voila. I won't be a billionaire, but don't need to be to have a home.

But some people think it's somehow impossible to lead a decent lifestyle because the world is coming to an end, or there's too many rich people hogging all the money. Not true. If you want to be Warren Buffet or a pro athlete. Difficult. Lead a normal decent life. Not difficult.

I haven't watched or heard anything with this kid yet, just seen the memes and hilarious pictures news articles are using of her lol. Whole thing just reeks of somebody trotting out a child to push an agenda and make people feel bad, she's right, why is she being propped up at the UN instead of being at school? Did she have any particularly new information to bring to light that no adult did or was she just wagging her finger?
