What happened with the game that's so bad refund(s) are apparently being asked for?

Aggressively? I asked you to leave me alone.

Your opening sentence you call me patronizing and demeaning. That's not really the way to get someone to do what you want.

Well only one person is asking for a refund, and that's Byron. Because he didn't get a free theme. Ignore him.

But there have been lots of issues with people getting their downloads to work and preloads unlocked late. Many people - including myself - have had to use the web store to start the download on PS4 because there's glitches in the library that stop you from doing it on the console itself. It's much more of a hassle than it needs to be to get the game running. The game going live in Europe was also inconsistent I understand.

Yeah. It just doesn't even show up in my download list. Same with PS4.

When you check the Grim Fandango entry in the story it says Purchased, right? You can't buy it again for free? Screenshots of your web store and download list (not purchase history) would be good.

I had to logout and log back in to get the theme and Vita version to show up on the SEN download list, may work for you (not sure if you've done that, my apologies if you did).

Also a good idea.

Just to be doubly sure, you did this right?

Yep! I didn't preorder the game, I grabbed it as soon as it was up on the PSN web store. So there was never any data downloaded on the PS4.

Oh my god. Why did this work. Thank you!

No theme, but I've got the game showing up in my download list now. I'm happy and content.

I like the style and concept of this game, but I feel like I need a guide for the entire thing so far. idk what the hell I am supposed to be doing 100% of the time

Byron Bluth, do you mind sharing your secret on how you obtained the theme?

So what you are saying is you got the theme even though you didn't pre-order, correct?

No, just edited it. My apologies.
I had a problem with the actual game not showing up in my download list, but logging in and out of the PSN webstore fixed it.

Start with this soft guide before jumping to a spoiler filled guide if you can. Listen to dialog carefully because it'll usually point you in the right direction even if it sounds meaningless.

Awww shit

Oh good. You finally over it now?

they said some (or a lot) of puzzles can be quite obtuse. you probably just need to really explore a bit more? i know, we're so used to shootbang nowadays but hey at least it's a change of pace.

As someone who plays the original game once a year, and most recently played it during extra life, I absolutely love this remaster.

It took me a while to notice it, but it does actually look better. Yes, the backgrounds look relatively the same, but the actual character models themselves look a whole lot better. There have been a few scenes so far where the lighting seems to be a lot better too
Like when Manny is asking Meche if she's done any bad in her life. The shadows and light seeping through the blinds looks very good compared to the absolutely nothing in the original game.
I will say that the pre-rendered scenes do not look redone and when anything pre-rendered pops up it looks pretty out of place when compared to the new HD models.

I actually found it tough to adjust to the new controls from the tank controls. Everyone always throws a fit about tank controls, but this game doesn't have any action sequences so its not like you need to make quick and precise movements all the time. It's cool that they're still an option.

My absolute favorite part by far though is the directors commentary. Since I've played through the game so many times I know all the puzzles and most of the dialogue by heart (Yes, I'm a little weird). It's so cool being able to push R1 when looking at an object to be able to hear some kind of commentary. I've only gotten through Year 1 so far, but man is there a lot of interesting stuff. Listening to Tim and Peter McConnell riff off of each other is awesome. I haven't hear any Peter Chan stuff yet, but I hope he's does some commentary.

This remaster does exactly what it sets out to do. People who couldn't play it before have that chance now. It's not exactly straightforward to get Grim running on a modern PC with ResidualVM. It's even more difficult to buy a disc copy of the game. For fans of the original who have seen it through many times they can now get some insight into the games story and programming.

It's a cool remaster, even if the game didn't get a complete visual overhaul.

Why is it such an issue that I wanted this theme so badly? Fuck.

How much you want the theme doesn't matter to anyone. You're entitled to love that theme as much as you want in private, nobody can stop you. However when you make it public, when you wouldn't stop complaining, throwing out ridiculous comments, screaming about false advertising and getting a refund, then you make it an issue to the rest of us. They fixed it for you in just over 24 hours, but you still couldn't wait that long to fly off the handle. Most of us were sympathetic at first, then you started melting down and painted a target on yourself. If Baby Buster can't handle the boyfights, he should stay out of the backyard.

None of you who are still bothering me were really sympathetic to start.

They didn't get anything done for me, my friend let me us his account to download and activate it. I solved it myself.

Pretty much. He just made his tantrum public. He even blamed Double Fine.

Anyone can suspect that he is just angling to get free shit from them and Id agree.

Yes. We activated each others' PS4s so my primary one is his and his primary one is mine.

This sounds like a terrible idea....that is going to cause problems down the road =/

If the PSN goes down you won't be able to play Grim Fandango because there won't be a license since you aren't playing on your primary system.

Seems to be fine. All my downloads are still usable and his are fine too. I have access to all his games and he has mine.

He was my best man at my wedding so we see each other often and such in case there is an issue in the future.

xxracerxx

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

We will hear about it, don't you worry. FUCKERS AND LIARS!
