I'm a teacher. Some kids fucking suck. The more shitty they act, though, the more fragile they become if you call them on their shit. They've got highly attuned senses of when thy're doing something that could get them into trouble, and getting in their face a bit and making them look you in the eye kind of makes them go haywire.

If you're concerned they're actually going to rough you up, then get a dog. My dog is my running buddy, and she can be a real asshole if she thinks we're in any kind of trouble. But we tend to run along pretty remote trails, so I'm more likely to stumble upon deer and rabbits than random wandering teenagers.

I was bullied a lot in school and one year the group that bullied me had this ringleader that was a total coward alone. He and his lackeys surrounded me and pushed me around and laughed at me but I got pissed more than usual one time when I saw him alone and I legit chased him with him running away from me.
This happened when I was in high school and I had this really fucking big friend. He was super tall and heavy built. The guy was in one of those voluntary firemen thingies. One day we walk away from school to the bus station and we go pass this large group of kids and as we pass them they start laughing maliciously and one of them makes some very rude comment about my friend. Kids totally thought that people our age would be more mature than them but they were dead wrong about my friend. My friend stopped right in his tracks, turns around and starts walking towards the kid and the kid starts crying before my friend even reaches him. The friend then proceeds to throw away the icecream cone the kid had and pushes him so that he falls to the ground (the kid was on his bike but not moving). Super immature on my school mate's part there but I can't lie, it was hilarious.

I never understood the whole "my brother will kick your ass" mentality even as a kid. We had those kids as well and when the brother finally arrived in order to kick someones, and even my, ass the brother was like "ok kid brother what did this fucker do", and pretty much every time it ended in the brother being all "wait, so you just started it? But... Why? So just so I have it right, he didn't actually do anything to you aside from defending himself against your unprovoked attack? Yeah fuck that you started it you finish it on you own, I'm out". That happened multiple times with different kids and their brothers. Their big brothers actually had the intelligence to understand that if you're the instigator then you lose the right for revenge if you get bested by the one who defends himself from you.
So there is a house being built next door that was just vandalized 2 days ago. About $30,000 in damage. All the windows busted out, they destroyed the tile counter tops and walls, etc. This is the second time they hit the house. The first time they just destroyed the counter tops. Last night the water truck that was out back for the well that's being dug got ripped up i think (they cut up stuff inside).

Day to day you didn't really think about it, you just had to fucking get the fuck out of there if you ever saw them coming. None of them were in my year thankfully. Wouldn't want to be in gym class with those weirdos that's for fucking sure.

It was a family of them, so there were 4 brothers all equally fucked in the head, that plagued my school. I think maybe even 5.
