I know there was another photo thread a while ago, but I haven't seen it around recently, and I thought it would be cool to start another thread, see if anyone else has some new pictures. Plus, I want to ramble longwinded-like about my appreciation of this element to the game.
I rented GT4 the other day, thanks to "no late fees" at Blockbuster, and while the game is very much the same game I quickly grew tired of in GT3, the photo mode is absolutely fantastic and has kept me playing, just so I can buy and unlock more cars to take pictures of.
Frankly, I think if there was some game that rotated around this mode (and I have no idea how that would work), I'd probably buy it. As it is, I'm loving it and I'll probably take full advantage of Blockbuster's generosity until I'm sick to death of the game.
What I particularly love is the fact that it doesn't do a whole lot to dumb down the camera controls. In fact, if you've ever wondered why you should try the manual mode on your digital camera (or buy a DSLR), this is a great game to illustrate those reasons, because it does offer a significant level of creative control. My only disappointment is the Shibuya photo location. I'd seen the streaks from cars in photos other people had posted, so I thought it might have been some sort of timed exposure, but it's really just a static environment. (I've posted a series at the bottom for people interested, that illustrates at least one aspect of the creative control you can have)
Some environments are also clearly better than others, with more than one worthwhile place to put the car... I guess my only real complaint is that I think there's a need to bump up the exposure compensation/bracketing in certain situations. I find myself bumping up the exposure a half stop every once in a while... of course, I guess you can Photoshop them too -- although I do have one unsalvageable shot that was taken in a shadowy area of one course. Anyhow, I've taken a ton of photos. Don't know what I'll do with them other than posting them here. I'm sure I'll find something to do.. maybe print'em out as my joyous GT4 memories
I'm still trying to build up the bank so I can buy as many cars as possible. Not really sure what to do. Won that Caddy concept vehicle and I'll probably just start doing the insane "outmatch your opposition by 500hp and win" strategy, since I don't want to waste cash that could be spent on cars to upgrade my car into something more competitive (I've already thrown a fair chunk of good money after bad upgrading a Mitsubishi Eclipse)...

This series is all of the same "frame" of a race and exactly the same camera position. The fact that you can get all these different results is exactly what I was hoping for in this mode, and as you can see, it delivers...

Anyhow, enough of my babble.. post your newest pics! (But how 'bout resizing them a bit smaller? These are 800 wide, and I'm not sure how they work for most forum goers... I always figure 800pix wide is good for someone at 1024x768...)
