Time flies when we're having fun, but who's time flies that little bit quicker? Within this thread, GAF's racers lay their Prologue cards on the table for all to see! There are two categories below for us to compete in, 'Overall Fastest Lap' and 'Challenge Event', where drivers must conform to a certain car, tire and physics to be eligible.

Please post your PSN ID, so that I can verify your laptimes. Note: quick laptimes won't count if you cheat your way across the grass at Suzuka, myself and Avaya will be vigilant in our replay checking! Also, please state whether you're using a wheel or controller (it shouldn't make too much difference, apart from Daytona), a [w] or [c] will denote this in our leaderboard.

Yeah, let have a separate list for controller/wheel.

I can do pretty much identical times with a wheel or a controller. Avaya's Suzuka laptime, quicker than mine and inside the top 15 in the world, was done on a pad (he is Suzukastar after all). However, Daytona is almost pointless with a pad vs wheel, I'll agree with everyone on that. We could have a separate list for the speedway, but we'd have no idea whether a great controller laptime was done with a wheel.

Whatever you do, don't attempt my London time yet lol. It's the only one I've worked really hard at and I'm ranked 4th fastest. All my other times took my 3 laps, you'll beat those easily.

I don't want to beat anything easily. Annoyingly, I think I have a faster time around London in my Elise than I can manage with the GTR. Practice, and all that.

well, i was used to one of the time trial combos in suzuka, but i went to practice and changed the tires.

got 2'03'526 in suzuka (FASJ6418). a 2'02 is very possible, but i already saw that the number 1 ranked time is...:lol well, no coments (too much sega rally for that guy)

compettion has been fierce in the online time trials. like, 2 tenths of a second can be the difference of 30 places...

whenever i turn on the game i think to myself: "god, there's so much to do, where should i start?"

btw, i'm still adapting to the wheel, first time in my gaming life that i have one. i'm still faster with the pad for racing tires and tight courses like london and eiger. but i'm really enjoying the G25. i seriously don't know how to drive fast cars with N tires without the wheel.. that's a good sign, i'm almost putting the pad aside completely.

I ran wide onto the cark park at the corner where the new chicane would have been, but I was off the throttle, only did 2 laps. Should be an easy time to beat.

For the Vette challenge I didn't actually complete a lap till my 5th attempt. I was far too aggressive like I was driving a Ferrari or GTR. This car is so much fun to drive like this. F430 at Eiger and GTR in London are the only two that I enjoy more!

Gonna have a rest then I think I'm gonna have a go at both Reverse courses and then attempt to improve (hook up) my F599 time at Suzuka.

spoon is bitch for me, i find myself wasting a lap more than 50% of the time in that corner. you should also try the suzuka onlint time trial, with R1 tires. looks like there's no cheating involved so far. best time in suzuka so far is 2'02'7xx without cheats. we can get there. let's go GAF

Same! Spoon defines the lap for me. Just did a 2:03.456 in the F599 after 30mins. I was up half a second at S1 on the best in the F599 and threw it away at Spoon big time. One throttle delay and that's it, you just slide wide wide wide.

I haven't had a proper go at the online timetrial for Suzuka, should do it tomorrow. It's one I've had my eye on for a while.

EDIT: You won't believe where I binned it on a potential 2:03.000 lap, the last non-corner on the home straight after exiting Casino Triangle. All under control, neck and neck with sopei's ghost, max 0.1s behind and I was trying to gain as much as possible and cut the inside too much....PENALTY. :lol

I would try, but if past GT3 time trial record threads I put together taught me anything is that gaf > me at GT. Rainbow and Mashoutposse was the two that destroyed then, now a lot more racing wizards are out on gaf willing to participate. I also only have controller and would use gimp settings. I'm sure I can still own Alpha though. He's not so good haw haw. jk, he probably hit the books after past attempts to beat me and became a master for all I know.

I will have a go at this tomorrow. Need a proper effort, without a wheel this is a bitch for me! It took me 7 attempts to get my 48.507!

Advice for those using auto-transmission. Take 30mins to learn manual shifting. I didn't do that till GTHD. First thing I did. It gave me 1.0s/lap improvement in lap time at a minimum. It's not that it's faster to shift, not at all. The speed comes from your ability to control how much your car slides. By being in the correct gear at each corner you will prevent the auto-shifts that induce slides or select gears which will enable you to exit smoothly out of a corner, taking a 2nd gear corner(has to be v.fast 2nd gear) in 3rd for example.

Manual shifting is also far more enjoyable.

If there is a North American version of this thread, I really hope that Standard and Professional Physics are sorted. Great thread though, and I don't want to take away anything from it, just saying that if we have another go at this thread once the NA version is out, we can iron out some kinks.

Hopefully by the time the NA version is out Prologue supports sorting them by friends lists.

The GTR is a monster at Suzuka, even with a completely ragged lap (on the grass and missing a gear change) I managed to thrash my old Ferrari 599 time by 0.5s.

That's really bad. Where are you connecting from, US using an SCEA PSN account?. I haven't had the connection issue for ages, that GTR race at Fuji is bumper-car crazy!

Suzuka they need to fix, it's an easy fix to ban the cheating, just make it so you get a penalty if you venture so far off track.

I did the standard online TT there today, set fastest non-cheating F599 time of 2:05 flat, I think it was no.12 - really messed up Degner II on that lap, cost me a half second. Not even bothering with the pro challenge there with Ferrari's + N3's, with a controller you can forget it.

There are so many TT's you can do, it's overwhelming.

Is it just me or is the GT-R really "overpowered"?
I don't get how this car can beat a F430 really, I wish there were more than one car to make it to the top of the ladder.
And the worst is you need to put so much effort with said a F430 to reach a bad time with a GT-R :-(.
Even with N tires and pro mode, it's still an easy car to drive.

And about the "Overall Fastest Lap" I don't see a point to do this, since many people only want to play on pro mode with N/S tires(Real GT for me), and to beat those scores you need to play on easy mode with R tires.

Maybe it would be better to do the same but with pro Mode and N tires?

Any thoughs on it?
