GTA PSP 'pushed back' to 7/15

have they even released a single piece of media for this game? maybe they'll hit july if its a port of the original GTA series :P

Wonderful. I still have a feeling a new GTA game will be made in the time that MMACGBA's been delayed over and over.

Well, if Rockstar wants to save on shipping they could be launching the PSP version with the Xbox and PC version of San Andreas in June.

Common sense says this is a good thing -- GTA is an awesome series and it'll be wonderful to have it done right on the PSP. If they rush it, it'll have bugs, or be truncated, or have some sort of wack ass niggle that pisses people off. If anything, Sony's own sports games show what happens when developers rush when programming for the system.

(Besides, many of us will see a buggy, in-progress version at E3 next month. Woot!)

has it been confirmed that the game is even being done by DMA? They are the only worthwhile studio Rockstar has. If it gets handed off to some other dev, the results could be bad.

The game is done by Rockstar Leeds studio.

I agree, the game won't show up until Fall. Rockstar is waiting until PSP has at least 5 million in circulation.

Is it going to be a port of one of the PS2 games, or is it a brand new game? I can't see a brand new game coming out next month.

Did they actually say that?

It's a new game which takes place in Liberty City.

What's so mysterious about how it'll work on the PSP? Exactly the same as the PS2. The screen is more than up to the task, and so is the hardware. Music fans will get stiffed tho.

and how do you expect the battery to hold up if the game works "the same as the PS2" when it's consistently streaming data?

Anyone who believes this will be released before October should be prepared to be disappointed. It wouldn't make good business sense to release arguably the PSP's biggest game in the Summer.

Wouldnt we have a screen shot by now or something on their website if it was coming out so soon.

Who really cares though

The streaming data is the only reason why I don't think this will be like The PS2 games. What I think it might be is a top down 3D GTA.

R* Leeds is what used to be Mobius, who also did the port of Max Payne for GBA. They are doing the basic coding, while Rockstar's North (DMA) and NY team are on for the concept stuff and production work.

I'm sure we won't see much media at E3 either. Like every other GTA.

We did see the first of shots of GTA:SA at E3, so it wouldn't be total shock to see a hint of it around the time of the show. But right, everybody expecting it or even thinking they'll play it at E3 is wishfully wrong.

San Andreas and Rockstar weren't even at E3, iirc. Instead, the new issue of GI seemed to hit on the Thursday or Friday of the show, and that had the exclusive break on the game.
