sweet, i was heard this game would be more linear then the console versions? true?

this was never confirmed. it was a rumor which trolls would use to attack the psp

meant to say more linear, sorry ;)

in the magazine rockstar saids its like the ps2 gtas

the pics are incredible, its looks like san andreas

and for golem.gta san andreas looks hot in you consider the scale of things on the game, inmense map withoud loading

I still don't see how this game is going to work on the UMD media considering all the streaming. Breaking up the city in the sections wouldn't be that bad I guess but I hate load times in free roaming games.

Looks really good.

Some facts people have pointed out:

- you play as Tony Cipriani
- game takes place in 1998
- several returning characters from GTAIII (duh!)
- you can run mp3s off the memory stick
- packages, jumps, and rampages are in all new locations
- Rockstar may or may not allow you to use flying vehicles because of the limitations of the hardware
- release date is sometime between September and November (how much you wanna bet its October as usual?)

Edit: one of the screenshots I've seen says "Looking for new players". Could that mean multiplayer?????

I was wondering this too, unless R* is just planning on going with 1 hour playtime per charge :/

If this is a bettery sucker, I will probably be playing this while plugged in at home most of the time.

Most PSP games spin the disc all the time just to play the music. Lumines, games made by EA, etc. I think that is some kind og 'low power' mode of disc usage, though. No idea how much the full speed spinning would affect batteries, but it's pretty safe to say GTA will have to sping the dics at the fastest speed all the time.

Supposed to be a feature in ATV Offroad Fury for the PSP already, but I don't recall seeing anyone actually get it working.

Maybe they can get some decent access times and it'll load every now and then like GTA3 did (ie crossing a bridge into another area).

The title "Liberty City Stories" definately has me thinking of something different though. We'll have to see.

Definately looks like the PSPs first REALLY important app. This will sell systems if it's all done right.

For those who want to see these....you can find them at that other ages place....the name escapes me at the moment though....

Yeah, I used to think the same way, that the game must have been broken into segments of some kind, but I think it's now confirmed that you do have an unlimited access to roam around the city, much like in regular GTA games.

Really? Can someone else point it out for us? ;) :D

Here are some more details:

- Aiming system is in
- Bikes and stuff from later GTAs are in
- Liberty City will looks slighty different because of the earlier time era
- Missions will be shorter because of the portable format
- More missions than GTA3

And here are some mission descriptions from the Edge Forums:

MISSION 1
We're rolling through the red [light] district, and true enough, it's familiar but different. We're outside Luigi's strip club, Sex Club 7 - the first place you visit in GTA3 - but Luigi isn't here yet. It's Paulie's Revue Bar and is run by JD O'Toole, a slimy pervert with links to the triads. He wants to get in with the Leone mob instead, so he tips you off about a Triad attack in St. Marks. It's nearby, so we head to AmmuNation and load up on Uzis. We rock up in the Sentinel, and Tony's henchman jumps out and stand guard while we decide to head off the attack before it arrives. Two waves of angry triads and several drive-by shootings later, a bulletproof patriot reaches the casino and plants a bomb. Boom! It wrecks the place, but doesn't demolish it. It's not enough for the gangsters. Relentless, they send another truck packed with explosives, parking it nearby - this one will bring the whole place down if it blows. How can we save the casino? Naturally we leap in the bomb truck and drive off, paying great attention to the timer and safe-distance meters. Once clear we park up and let it detonate near some innocent bystanders, saving considerable damage to Mafia property. Phew.
MISSION 2
We're back in the Sentinel, crusing over to Don Salvatore's mansion. He wants us to retrieve some cash from the docks at Atlantic Quays, so we take a dirt bike from his driveway and head down the hill. Across the water we can see Shoreside Vale- the draw distance is extremely impressive. Unfortunately, those bomb-happy Triads have rigged the warehouse, so collecting the cash packages is a race against time - allwhile fighting running battles. In the nick of time we dash out and the building goes up, damaging everything nearby. Ignoring the smoking cars, we steal a chopper, gassing it up and weaving madly to avoid the incoming wave of Belly Up fish vans. Eventually, with only minor civilian casualties, we reach the safety of Salvatore's mansion once again.

The graphics look nice but I've learned to never expect Rockstar games to look like they do in commercials and official screens. Shit, the XBox version of SA doesn't look as good as the prelease PS2 media.
