GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY |OT| ...Who?

wishes it were bannable to say mean things about Marvel
To me this is the best Marvel movie to date, even better than the awesome Iron Man 1. Everything fits so perfectly, the humor, the action, the cuteness and the amazing pacing - In 120 minutes I never felt a sense of boredom or the film being to dragged out, from begging to the end its an amazing trip..

Yep, from the moment the title card flashes up on the screen it never really lets up or gets boring or drags at all, GotG is one of the best paced movies I've ever seen. It just fires on all cylinders and chugs like a Harley going uphill. I've seen it four times and it actually gets better each time, I could see it again to be honest but I'm waiting to see it at home now.

Both Marvel movies of this year are now my favorite two Marvel films out of all of them, GotG and the fantastic Captain America: WS. Marvel's done one hell of a job for 2014, it will be hard for them to top these two films IMHO.

Just saw it. It was...okay? For some reason the blue dude managed to be an even less threatening villain than Malekith. Bohoo, don't let me step on the planet's surface. Damn, just throw a bomb, dude.

The movie wasn't bad and that lady next to me almost cried with laugther because of every.damn.scene. Starlord takes his helmet off. Laughter. Nova Corps locks ships (what a brilliant planetary defense system). Laughter. Storlord hands over the fake Infinity Stone capsule? You guessed it, she found it hysterical.

I would've liked more background on, well, everything and a better story, even if it slowed the pacing. The daughter's of Thanos were pretty damn useless, both Gamora as hero and whoever that preeeetty blue girl was.

I guess I'm the odd one for not loving it, but I feel like it is in the middle of the pack for Marvel-verse. Burt Macklin was great in this, though, and Groot was cool. Even with being greedy and getting himself new powers all the time.

Sounds like nothing goes over your head.

This movie was solely a jerkoff session for Marvel fangirls and boys. Completely stupid plot and B list actors.

My comments aren't here to troll anyone or this thread, simply expressing my disgust for the film. Was stupid.

On the other hand, I really enjoyed the Thors, CAs, IMs and Avengers.

You must have watched a different movie than the rest of the world. Don't feel bad, it happened to me once too. I thought I was going to see the latest Superman movie but it ended up being about this alien who destroys cities and has a crazy asshole for an adopted dad.

Possibly. I had completely different expectations for the film. The best part was the first scene. After that, totally lost my interest.

Just saw it and really liked it. My favourite marvel-verse movie so far. It was hilarious at times, loved it didn't take itself super seriously and the characters are easily the best Marvel has put out so far.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?

Well not every Marvel movie can be filled with A-listers like Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner. Give them some slack.

You have NO idea just how much a jerk off session it was. I mean, if we had a black light in there, the place would look like a Jackson Pollock painting.

I only watch movies with the highest paid actors in Hollywood too.

#gotgpicoftheday Here's me and the actor Spencer Wilding who played the Mean Guard who jabs Quill in the prison with the electrical staff and gets his comeuppance to Escape (the Piña Colada Song). He also has a little container of Play-Doh. Why Play-Doh? Because I would keep a pile of little Play-Doh containers onset and if someone did an especially amazing job that day - whether it was an actor, a grip, a stunt man, or a PA - they'd get a canister of Play-Doh. I probably only gave about 40 containers out over the entire shoot - on an 85 day schedule with a crew of a couple hundred, that isn't much. I chose Play-Doh because I love the smell of it - opening a new container and smelling it puts me in a creative, child-like place. And who doesn't love playing with Play-Doh (I swear Play-Doh isn't paying for this post)? Anway, Spencer got the Play-Doh for a scene where he danced through the prison listening to Quill's Walkman (specifically, Magic by Pilot). We cut the scene for many reasons, but it was awesome and hilarious and Spence more than deserved his rarely-given Play-Doh (and, yes, before you ask me a thousand times below, it WILL be on the Blu-Ray outtakes, and no I will not tell you the release date - you can go see the movie again! It's still out!) Have a great day (or night depending in where you are). #gotg #guardiansofthegalaxy

I seem to remember that there was one reviewer who did a pre-release review of Thor 1 saying the movie would flop because they were using Tom Hiddleston, an unknown actor, instead of someone famous, like Shia LeBeouf.

Oh yes, here it is: http://www.vulture.com/2009/05/marvel_rolls_dice_casts_no-nam.html

...Just read the article and pretty sure it's not even close to implying the movie's going to flop and it's all because of the actors.

It just says they rolled the dice on no names in spite of rumors floating around about big name actors taking the part. And then makes a snarky end comment about putting the saved money into effects.

When a critic makes a comment about special effects like that, it sends the message that they're expecting the movie to be awful and hoping it will at least look pretty.

They will be mine!
I'm probably gonna buy all of the Guardians figures on both ends. Though I'm pretty sure we're only getting Yondu in DI2.0 & Funko POP bobble-heads for Yondu, Nebula, Ronan, & Thanos because the movie turned out to be a mega-hit.

And my wallet weeps.
