My friend told me from BWE3 to the ST they added in more body types for the asura and more eye colors for the human females so I'd expect more options all around come launch.

5k some steel, some grinding.....and a jolt through Sorrow's Furnace for the black Mora chick (unique iirc).
Otherwise, I think I saw people selling uniquest for over 50k.

The black Moa chick is a unique minipet you can get by doing a scavenger hunt through the three campaigns. Its the cheapest way to get a unique. Otherwise you are looking to spend 50k or more. Prolly more.

So... create account, skip through character creation, claim name, then delete character and take your time doing a new character, since the name you did in the first one will be reserved for 24h?
During one of the weekends, I was having more fun just because I loved my little asura so much. I doubt I even like the engineer, but that asura made me want to main him.. calling out to me.

I've been there forever, but it's so hard to log in to GW. I've had the game since Prophecies came out and I can't bring myself to play it any more. All those years waiting for GW2 made it impossible for me to play GW1. Every time I tried I was reminded about how either we knew nothing of GW2 yet, or that it was no where near release.

Yup. Also, are Minipets in GW2 only available through the cash shop, or can they (or some of them) be obtained ingame, too?
Well, you can at least be satisfied that all the Felicia Day haters will have to avoid playing an Asura because she's one of the main voice actors.
You are able to trade in-game gold for gems. Then you use the gems for the minipet. Oh, and you can get specific minipets from the trade post.

Couple things here:
1) All minipets (at least those obtained from the Gem Store) are tradable on the Trading Post for in-game currency.
2) Any time you wish, you can trade in-game currency for gems for the Gem Store (as well as vice versa). Effectively, letting you buy anything at the 'cash shop' with in-game currency.
So yes, they are very much obtainable in-game.

I'll rephrase: Can I find Minipets through gameplay, as a drop/DE reward/other reward, without actually buying them at the Trading Post for whatever currency?

Just bought the Digital Deluxe Edition, trying to log in to my old GW account now but it looks like I've forgot the name of my character(s), which is strange cause I always use the same names... (and they are uncommon enough)

You can get the Oppressor weapon from finishing war in kryta in a day or two so no worries there. You can get a unique from doing some sorrow's furnace stuff for the black moa chick so no money spent there.
