Early buyers of Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign will get Elfert free. Otherwise, she can be purchased for 800 yen.

That sounds nice. Sort of like the opposite of nickle-and-diming day 1 buyers with day 1 DLC you include in a GOTY edition.

She looks a bit like GG2 Valentine. Maybe her and Ramentgal fuse to make GG2 Valentine?

Also A.B.A am crey

Interesting, but does that mean that the console version won't have any additional characters on-disk besides the initial arcade roster?

I want Anji and Johnny. :/

Damn, this probably means that's it for the roster. No extra old characters returning.

Looks and sounds like the type of character I'm not at all interested in playing.

In fact, the maybe it's just rose-tinted glasses or my perception changing over time, but a lot of these newer character designs seem a bit too "anime" for Guilty Gear. I know GG character design has always been very busy and overdone, but they always had a certain tone to them that I feel is missing.

Could be that all the time spent working on Blazblue rubbed off on Arc System Works or maybe I'm just not seeing things as they are.

I love both Blazblue and Guilty Gear, though, so it's not a massive deal. I'm in day 1 regardless.

There will be more DLC I'm sure...was still hoping for Baiken though

The "too anime 4 me" complaints are going insane when someone's saying a GUILTY GEAR design is "too anime" for the series.

Sure, but probably not in the near term. Probably going to have to import this as Arc is still terrible at getting timely EU releases.

Guilty Gear designs have always been anime as fuck. Hell GG is basically the game that created the "anime" style of fighting game.

You can't really say Effert is too anime in a series with Bridget in it.

Sounds like my kind of character. Can't wait to see gameplay footage at TGS.
======

How long is it going to take Aksys to announce the release date or the delay? Weird that it's still listed for holiday 2014 everywhere for NA and we haven't heard anything yet.

A bit off topic, but I'm really dreading the purchase of a new stick just for this game. Anyone know if converter things like this legitimately work?

Would prefer a 50 dollar thingy that has other uses over buying a new stick. Price aside, they take up a lot of place.

Doubt it will be delayed, holiday is still a while off (if we say holiday is Nov - Jan-ish). Still two full months before then! I just hope we get an awesome LE or something.

She looks pretty cool. I'm loving her design which says a lot considering I tend not to like Guilty Gear's character designs. I think Bridget, May and Dizzy are the only deisgns I've really liked.

Ok, first shit decision with that game.

You just don't make a crappy DLC character when half the roster is missing ...

Don't get me wrong. Guilty Gear has always been pretty "anime" and while that doesn't appeal to certain crowds, I'm not one of them. I love the aesthetic and as I said before, I love both Blazblue and Guilty Gear, but for different reasons.

It's just to me, Guilty Gear feels more like "classic anime" with a bit of heavy metal influencing the character designs, whereas Blazblue is more "modern anime" with everything design-wise being super overdone and extravagant with no room for subtlety.

If I had to pick individual elements, while the outfit definitely seems very much what I expect from Guilty Gear, the way the eyes look and the massive cleavage window seems out of place. Only Baiken had anything like that going on in Guilty Gear and she was a one-armed samurai. It was more meant to add to her character and serve to make her more badass than this seems to be.

Honestly, maybe I'm just over-analyzing things.

Is this your "classic anime"?

And I-no and Dizzy.

Guilty gear feels like classic anime to you because the old sprites and art are old now. This is still guilty gear, everything about it screams guilty gear. It's just done today. Look at the poster with the new character on it and try and say it doesn't look like guilty gear

Looks good to me..though I've never played a Guilty Gear game and haven't bought a fighting game since Tekken 4..So there's no nostalgia to ruin with reboots and new characters/designs in all these upcoming games.

Looking to go on a fighting game binge on PS4 though.

And I-no and Dizzy

I feel like this became more about the sexualization of characters than I'd intended, but I guess that's what I get for bringing up the cleavage window.

It could be argued that it served a purpose for I-No as well, but I somehow completely forgot about Dizzy since it's been so long. I guess there is a precedent for this sort of stuff in Guilty Gear, too.

Just as long as we don't get Makoto and Mu-12 level of outfits in this game, it's all good.

Guys, she uses guns and has a rose motif.

Guns and Roses.

This is most certainly a Guilty Gear character.

Great observation.

I do think she is a bit more frilly than GG characters tend to be. But a lot of her design is still guilty gear.

I find blazblue characters are all way too "pointy" on all their angles and tend not to have the same kind of everyday item references in their equipment.

If this trend continues, I'll probably pick this up after it goes on sale or everything gets bundled into some complete edition. These new character designs/redesigns just don't rock IMO. Maybe they'll grow on me, but I'm doubtful at the moment.

Wow, I don't know how people are saying this isn't a Guilty Gear character when her design carries the same styling as the rest of the cast. She looks pretty cool, her color scheme and rose motif (Guns 'N Roses, Ishiwatari loves his references) will definitely make her distinct from everyone else. What makes me smile is the rifle and shotgun gameplay, since those are my favorite kinds of firearms, and it makes curious how she'll play.
