She's just the female Meijin in my opinion. There are female Meijin in Shougi and stuff.
ZZZ and Trion 3 are two different units. Same idea, but different unit(s).

Someone on 2ch noticed that all the schools are essentially schools names and/or anime terms from older Sunrise anime. Such as how Fuuka Gakuen from Mai-Hime is fighting against The 6th Civilization from Ideon, or Takeo High named after Watta's company in Trider G7, or Harukaze from Gosaurer. Fighbird and Goldran will fight each other in the first round as well.
But I think the most interesting one is Minato's match. Their opponent is 鴎第三, which is a word play of Kamome Elementary 3rd Grade. Which is Mamoru and Kaidou's class from GaoGaiGar.

At least 00 suits look good. There's zero excuse for Seed gundams.
The Qan[t] looks like ass man. Only 00 suit I liked was the Dynames, Exia is ok.

The only reason Exia and Freedom aren't on the list is because fans already know they'll be in the show.
I would've died for that Woundwort though.

Surprised we got a 'fight' in the episode, but pretty glad. Needed some return to fun action and got it this ep, hope it continues for nationals!

man that last episode was kinda zzzz. Their power showoff wasn't as cool as sei's and reiji's 
What does the term meijin even mean? And that outfit she wears looks extremely stupid, with the pants and shorts combi thing, urghh. Plus the whole "Hoshino is a girl so she must be taught by a girl who tells her to watch out for another girl." Argh.

Goddamn, Kyrios team jobbed so hard. I was a bit disappointed because Lightning Gundam is my favorite of the three by far and all it did was be a surfboard for Burning and maybe fire a couple of shots at a shitty Kyrios. Also, for the poll, while I'm glad Xi will (or might) get some love, poor Woundwort. Hell, have any Advance of Zeta suits showed up yet?

Saw this on Obari-sama's twitter. Amazing.
I'm sad that it appears to be a single elimination bracket this year. That really limits the potential match types and doesn't let them have any in-tournament encounters before the other team is getting eliminated. So they can't do anything like setting up someone as a powerful rival in a battle royale (like they did with Dallara last year) or have them fight against a friendly competitor without that friendly team getting eliminated (like they did with Fellini last year).

I'm not sure. Was it the box under Exia? I was under the assumption that it was Exia + Sakibure. Though I'm not sure how she pulled off a "Perfect" Gundam with that. And from the picture on the previous page, it looks like two Exias?
Also wow, AGE suits. We finally get AGE suits and they pick that. Welp.
But hey, more importantly, Crossbone Full Cloth. I didn't notice any modifications to it though. Perhaps it's stock but well made? I doubt it's just a snap fit.
