I think the biggest problem with Yuu's character is that he's written to be this emotional fragile artiste who crumbles under significant pressure and that's just not very interesting. He's written as a weak character so that, over the course of the show, he can follow the standard shounen route of 'toughening up'. Not only is this whole contrivance tiresome, it's not even well executed. You can make a character based around that premise and actually make it interesting, they just haven't done it here.

Well Kawa is married to the blonde isn't he?

Also he won the national(world?) tournament three times? So he beat Sei?
Likely. Or anyone else really. Even Felini could take him out. The World championship showed that most pilots were pretty skilled.
Who's there to compete with him? Sei is the only one who could build better a Gunpla but I doubt he has as much piloting skills.
I think the ending of the first series established that Sei was as good a pilot but he was limited by him not wanting to damage his gunpla.

So now all three members of Try have their gunpla mentors, two Kawaguchis and loli-Aila.

I think the last scene establishes pretty well that Sekai has the same or similar ability as Aila, and that he can feel the Plavsky, which manifests to him as a "wind". Loli-Aila seems to be the same, and we'll probably get a deeper look into the abilities of Build Burning, which, it seems, includes Burning Finger.

Please stop saying "loli", you're tarnishing anime's precious reputation. You brute.

A spade is a spade and a loli is a loli.

S2 is repping SD Gundam really hard, and it's working.

I rwant one now.

Are SD Gundams cheaper than regular kits because they're smaller or is this some kind of ruse to sell less plastic for the same money?

Not that I'm interested in getting one or anything.

Despite how cool they are.

Yeah they're cheaper. Like half the price or something? They make really good gifts for kids because of the low price point + high appeal. Since they're so cheap, it's not a huge loss if they get rekt.

That'll teach kids not to use damage level C.

Plus, they're very easy to build. Though that ease of build and low price come at the cost of less detail and the reliance on stickers.

Kawaguchis' SD Zero Gundam has been the coolest looking gundam shown thus far. Amazing Red gundam looks plain as fuck and I don't see what's so great about it.

They should just drop a colony on the Try Fighters and focus on what the gen 1 characters are up to. Gimme some Felini.

Just what the show needed, a solid ep focusing on each char individually and with decent action and music. Very good stuff. I liked how they touched upon the weaknesses of both Fumina and Yuu as well. Get a loli-expy of Aila too, lol.

All the best fights in this show basically boils down to 1 vs 1 battles. I dunno if the "Tri" format really brings anything.

It would if the showrunners were into esports but they're clearly not.

Or just...any sports. Even fictional sports such as the tank battles in GuP. Every fight in that series is based around the actual tactics required in skirmishing. They don't even try to explore that in this show.

They did do some team related tactics in the show. It's just the large/important battles that haven't had it in full force.

They had tactics in the gyanko match, the ez8 one, the mobile armor fight too. The regionals fight started out with one but it got thrown out the window right away when the read the strat.

So if Meijin won 3 years in a row. That means someone or a bunch of people won the other 3/4 years.

GBF ends - Reiji and Sei win the cup.

Timeskip:
Year 1- ?
Year 2- ?
Year 3- ?
Year 4- ?
Year 5- Meijin
Year 6- Meijin
Year 7- Meijin

I assume Sei, Fellini and Nils won one each or something like that. Where is Sei and his likely wife China? Maybe the reason Sei isn't around is because they finally found a way to visit Reiji in his world?

But I can't wait for the next Episode! Will it just be a Double Build Knuckle? lol

Just watched 12. So it took 12 episodes and the best character in GBF to snap Yuuma out of his funk. What a scrub.

Of the two fights in the episode Fumina had the far better showing - rigging that rifle out of junk in the field was good shit.

the actually kinda did that in EP 9. GuP simply have more player so they can do skirmish better

What do you guys think Fumina is lacking, precisely? I'm getting the impression that it's something lame like "you're just relying on Yuuma's 420mlgn0scopez and Sekai's screaming fists".

Her gundam is too support focused that it cant handle 1 on 1 very well.

I think it's more of an attitude problem (like Yuu), instead of being functional. Supporting is a tactical choice, there's nothing strictly wrong with it. Moving towards a more self sufficient gunpla will just dilute the support element, and it's no one's place to say which strategy is superior.

Unlike Yuu, who wears his character arc on his sleeve, Fumina's been pretty stable throughout so i don't know where she could grow.

Had the feeling this Sekai's karate teacher is actually Sei and not Reiji lmao.
Sei did build the super melee oriented gundam in the show. It didnt even have any ranged attack. Maybe Sei use assimilate with build burning and got injured in damage level A causing him to retire from gunpla fighting, hide build burning gundam, got bitter about his condition that China dumped him for Yuki.

Can I stress enough how awesome the soundtrack is for this show? It's passed the first season and I wan't it like right now. This was a great episode and I see everyone is gonna get trained. I almost got to excited at the end of the episode cause I thought Sekai was gonna see Domon Kasshu...They tease him in the intro and I just want it to come true. I really hope it's him in the series and not someone dressed like him :/

As for Fumina her flaw is that she focuses on her team so much she's not strong enough for herself. She needs to balance herself when it comes to her team and herself in combat.

I love the soundtrack, but really? Surpasses it? Many of the songs they use were from the original. Just recently in fact when the Meijin came in, that's on the first OST.

The Try OST is pretty good, but a lot of it is reused. A lot of the news songs are great, but the first season used the OST better.
And 3x the passion of ordinary flamenco is from the original series and that's the best track

Well I suppose this is why it's so good to me also lol. I know they use most of the first season OST as well but, whats new is good as well. I guess saying it's better is just the side of me that loves the music so much already it just improved on what was already great. They still have time to show off using the rest of the OST in episodes but, yes the first season so far used the music better in most parts. Also when does the OST's come out for sale? I had listened to it online before but I would consider importing Season 1 and 2 now.

In DOTA terms, she thinks being a good support just means buying wards and a courier, instead of actually thinking about how to help the team win
