Judging from the new opening, we have a another new Exia/Astraea incoming and potentially a 1.5 or Reborns Gundam (EDIT: the second one is Ky Kiske's unit. Forgot about that for some reason). Both in the scene with Winning's new upgrade.

I really like that Try Fighters has a refreshing amount of good female characters. Sure there are still some small issues here and there, but given the horrible history of awful female characters in Gundam, this series is like a huge paradigm shift.

They seem to be letting Fumina step up a bit more. Other additions like Lady Kawaguchi, Gyanko, and Shia having full-sized Gundams is nice, and the tri-SD team of dudes helps. I wish they would've given her a full-sized Gundam, but I'm getting over it.

I know right. I was not at all surprised she went straight to the "support my boys" role. Glad they openly address it though as a weakness rather than actually helping. Hopefully that actually means she will participate more than holding lego add-ons for their Gundams from here on.
Personally betting my money on the Gunpla Academy girl being the shows "cute, super powerful, but weak and vulnerable who faints/loses control and faints" after every fight.
This is already Sekai.

so far, she's shown as being a super builder instead of being a super pilot with the exception of lady kawaguchi hyping her up though.

I'm actually half-convinced that the Winning's upgrade is to transform into a regular Gundam. The additional parts seem like the correct size to lengthen its joints, and she did say that she was focusing on both "SD" and "real". Obviously, it could end up just being additional parts to graft onto Build Burning and Lightning, but that pretty much goes against the idea that she wanted to add more power to it.
The fact that her drawing of it was hidden from view also seems sketchy, as they were completely fine showing the finished version after the credits and in the opening.
She might control the newly combined mech in conjuncture with the owner of the mobile suit Winning combines with, similar to how the G-Bomber and Victory combined.

I'm actually rooting for them. Though yeah, they'll probably be crushed by the triplets or that other guy who talked with the triplets in their first match.

The music is very catchy making even the anime team confident enough to put the non vocal as VGM,
For the vocal I like less high pitched sound for a change.. will welcome BACK-ON anytime for S3 though.

Couple of things I noticed.
- The team that Build Busters were facing are called Tiger and Rabbit referencing Tiger and Bunny
- Lucas Nemesis' flower pendant is of the same design and colour as the flower on Aila's hat.

Star Build Strike vs Dark Matter Exia episode IIRC, so like the second to last episode of S1. Also Sei went on to Build Strike Cosmos after Reiji left.

since we all super robot up in this season. why not just cut to the chase and let JAM pro sing the next op for build fighters? get that hot battling super robot spirit flowing. last eps Kirijima vs sekai fight reminded me sooo much of hokuto no ken lol.

I actually kinda like it, it invokes butterflies without looking too cutesy or ridiculous. The proportions are sort of underwhelming, though, it isn't as eye-catching as transient or the end.

Pretty average post-training episode. Most of it was about getting people "hyped" for the coming tournament, showing all the factions again, foreshadowing the new mechs, etc. It's kinda hard for me to care about most of the characters and their "rivalries" though, since unlike the first series, everything here feels so much more contrived and over-dramatic. I'm sure some of the fights will be pretty entertaining, but I think this episode shows how big the gap is between the first series and the current one is in terms of interesting characters and dynamics.
Looking forward to the fight with the SD Gundam team though. I love how SD Gundams are used in the show, and this will be the first time we see a bunch used in an actual tournament match, so yay!
