is every fight from now on going to be 2 parter? they could easily make it in 1 episode if they didn't have to include shipping in the first half of episode

edit: btw, when they said they're going into the castle, all I can think of why not use that moon buster move by Sekai to blast the whole castle...

I think the shipping is fine, it's very self aware and the female characters get to be fun and outrageous instead of just being the butt of the joke in every situation. I don't think it exists in spite of actual Gundam fights, it's there to pad stuff out to make up for their lack of budget and I think they've done okay with what they have. The middle third of the episode amounting to a clipshow is another symptom of that.

It's sort of silly that 3 SD gundams combine into a mobile armor that's 3 times bigger than a regular HG suit, but I guess it's aware of the absurdity of it.

Pretty much, especially considering it doesn't seem to take too much out of him now as evidenced by their first tourney match. Something, something spirit of gunpla battle, etc.

Aside from that, fun ep. Guess Lucas' Crossbone Full Cloth is pretty stock for now as evidenced by the intro now that it isn't blacked out. Hoping for an awesome gimmick!

I'm hoping Lucas will fill Renato Bros role in season 1 to give some challenge to Gunpla Academy. I'm expecting some good fight. would be awesome if he's actually dominating Gunpla Academy and the reason he lost in the end is because he's teammates are not up to par so it's basically 1vs3.

I love the shipping. It's fun. A show like this about school kids and model kits should not be all serious and fighting all the time.

Fun ep. The animation was smooth too.

Episode 17

Lol, what a huge cocktease episode. The comedy was pretty good though. I'm scared of ghosts too! The backgrounds for the introduction of the castle were really cool. I loved those SD statues. :)

I have a feeling Gunpla Academy is gonna job in the semis.

I thought the harem stuff at the start was actually fun. Shia is best girl.

Episode was alright. I'm expecting we see Star Winnings alt form next week. Glad there's less build knuckle tho

"Guys, our enemies are expert in laying traps. Now, the battlefield is wide open space with a castle in the middle, that's just totally giving advantage to the other team inside. What do we do?"

"Stay outside to take advantage of Lightning Gundam's air superiority while the remaining two approach carefully? I mean, at worst, it's a draw. May be we can bombard the castle?"

"You fool. We storm in!"

How did three SDs combine into something the size of a PG?

Pretty good episode nonetheless. I wonder if Star Winning will show it's true form this fight.

Acutally, I hope all three main suits get the MG treatment. It would be fucking fantastic if we got an MG SD

Episode 17

Great episode.

The stuff at the beginning was funny and it's nice to see Fumina getting things done with the Star Winning.

The approximately 5 solid minutes of shipping at the beginning of the episode but then I soon realised that the entire first half would be filler. Characters discussing things they already knew, watching recycled animation from earlier in the series and generally just wasting my time.

The fight was pretty okay though.

Damn, if THAT level of skill can't get you into Gunpla Academy, the whole system is broken lol

Man that Shia is up to no good. You just know she's a sociopath.

I fucking told you it had 3 heads duckroll. Did you believe me? Noooooo!

"Maybe one guy controls the body or something!"

HAH!

Anyway this fight kind of sucked. The thing with the Renalto Bros vs Meijin fight was that it was a fight of wits. There was a clear sense of progression as each side tried to one up each other tactically, with the capstone being Meijin's "just according to keikaku"!

What happened here? They got separated. And then they reunited and team SD-R gattai'd. There was literally no point to the to all the traps and tactics except for showing off a little more of how Sekai's assimilation could be used against him. The "real fight" starts here, everything else was just padding.

Anywho I think the three heads thing is stupid myself but whatever I still like the design of it overall and hope it actually destroys one of their gunpla otherwise what's the point.

I was thinking of both of these things while watching the episode. How the hell did the Cerberus mech get like six times taller than the normal mechs?

Ugh... This episode was really chock-full of stupid.

Entering the castle was utterly idiotic. Sekai has a move that can explode the Moon. He should have fucked up the whole castle with it.

Fumina spent 45 seconds suffering a temporal brain paralysis? And didn't even try to shoot at the actual enemy in the lobby? Some redemption at the end.

The would-be-Renatos spent way too much time masturbating about their magnificence and too little time shooting.

3/5 Grumpy-bear markings, will skip most of the episode if I ever re-watch the show.

I'm assuming they couldn't get in due to a defect in their personalities rather than some deficiency of skill.

Under that calculating exterior, they might be totally nuts.

Gundam Build Fighters Try Episode 18:

Yea, really didn't matter how much forced backstory you threw in there GBF Try, I still didn't care since at the end of the day it was more about putting over the Gunpla Academy over as the final boss then anything else. That being said the second half was a pretty decent battle, not amazing, but still decent enough.
Looks like Team Try Fighters are going to be fighting their equivalent of Sasuke from Naruto next episode and hi random and pointless China cameo, nice to see you.

OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
WINNING ROAD, MOTHERFUCKER
YES YES YES SO GOOD
FUCK YOUR DRAGON

Also, what a tease at the end. Seriously, not cool at all. >.< Man, this episode was rad because of the fight. Sadly, the second part was just a missed opportunity.

Wow.

Battle aside, lots of backstory and stuff, especially for Build Burning.

Regarding Sekai's Teacher,
I wonder if it really is Reiji wearing a Domon costume. If even Sei points out that they have similar fighting styles.

Speaking of, Jun-nii is kind of a jerk.
Master didn't teach me the secret technique that Sekai learned on his own so I'm going to have my gang beat up Sekai's friend and steal his spare parts.

Also, Winning Beam best attack.

Episode 18

Oooooooh yeah! Great music this week. Really cooool movies. REAL MODE! WINNING BEAM! GIANT BEAM SWORD! Star Winning Gundam is the best best best best best. :D

So
Junya is gonna steal them eh? That's kinda predictable.

Are actual SD toys able to unfold/transform into reals?

OMG Winning Real mode

Fumina is clearly the most talented out of the three

Episode 18

Great episode but that battle shouldn't have spanned two episodes. I also don't care about the twins backstory.

Star Winning's final mode looks way better in action than I thought it would and I love how it manages to still be completely over the top with its actions.

Pretty much my reaction. Too much of a tease. Sei and Reiji need to pop up eventually.

Hopefully next week we find out a bit more about Sekai and Junya's master.

Yeah it feels like the battle could have been a single episode.

I get the feeling the next ep will be a two parter but will have that feel of the battle being able to fill a single ep
