Someone went through the trouble of figuring out which parts go where in SD/Real mode:
This will be out in shops next week!

Also I have an itch to build this....

So Denial Gundam seems to have Master Gundam like whip in the preview. Also the hair reminds me of Berserk mode that Noble Gundam had installed.

I really hope Hyper Mode is the next logical power up and not something friendship only.

Watching them stall out this episode with more reactions, cliches, and backstory just reminds me how poor a job they're doing of setting up future fights. There's no meaningful interaction between these characters and their opponents before the episode where they battle, and then the episodes themselves are devoted exclusively to that particular pair of teams. The show has its hype moments in battle, but it has done a terrible job of layering multiple plot lines in each episode.

This was just complete trash. Like why the fuck didn't they set any of this up earlier? No some five second cameos don't cut it. Why didn't they use the ample amount of dead space in the first half to set any of this up?

Then we have the jobber fights which is just straight up bad. At least the original GBF tried to make the stuff interesting or exciting. Here they straight out don't care.

What the different of this episode from Meijin vs Supposed-tobe-Meijin in S1?

And I liked both.

That was one of the weaker episodes in the first season. Even then, they at least set up Meijin's internal complications and the sacrifices he had to make long in advance. The Meijin issues were long running at that point. Not to mention that the rival wasn't an edgemaster.

Edit: Also the reason Julian(I had to look it up) wasn't mentioned was that he was brought in way late to the tournament.

Wasn't the innermost secret to the thing just the punch that let you feel the emotions of the guy you are fighting?

Wait, if Sekai's and Junya's master is some kind of a Domon fanboy, how is it that Sekai had not heard of Gundam or Gundam battle before episode one?

Just realizes Star Winning Gundam gimmick just opened a door for a whole new Gundam show based on SD -> Real Type gimmick, like B-Fighter Kabutack.

That's just the story reason though, it's not like there isn't a story reason for Junya's few appearances either. You can contrive a story reason for any good or bad piece of plotting.

And just as last season had built up Meijin's issues before bringing in Julian for him to fight them out, this season has been building up Sekai's reliance on Jigen Haoh techniques and the threat of someone in the tournament who could counter them/be unaffected by those regular attacks, with Junya being the face to that threat.

Goddamn. Fumina has been on fire for the past couple of episodes. I like the Lightning Gundam the most, but it hasn't done shit except fly and maybe snipe a few times since its debut.

And that Dempsey Roll... Fuck it, I hope Denial Gundam wins.

no, that simply old Julian gunpla. not Second Meijin one.

this one is Gunpla that Second Meijin is building

Ah damn, Junya got the Meijin 2's gunpla somehow! :O Maybe they're related?

And actual kit pics of the HG Crossbone Full Cloth, The End, and Tryon are out. They all look great! Shame FC looks pretty stock, but I'm cool with it. Denial is coming as well, but it's preliminary 3D modelling stuff atm.

That SD dragon kit looks... rather underwhelming. I think I'll skip picking that up.

Finally Wednesday is here! New episode tonight!

And the Star Winning kit will be out this week. I think I'll pick up two.

It looks really, really bad. Not just the dragon itself, which is way too fate to look good on the shelf, but the entire idea of the kit feels lame. You have to get 3x of the SD kit to get enough parts to make the dragon right? That's 3000yen for a garbage looking dragon, or 3 lame SD kits which all look the same and don't have very interesting accessories.

Man, it looks worse than I ever could have imagined. On the other hand Gundam the End and Gundam Tryon 3 look pretty good.

I usually don't buy HG kits but I might make an exception for these two.

May I suggest these cutters?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TMZ7QA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Or any from that brand, honestly. They're a bit on the more expensive side, but they do the work of cutters on the super expensive $30+ side. The flush cut blades on these guys is invaluable and they cut plastic like butter. You'll save yourself a lot of work just by investing in nice cutters up front.
So I"m getting these cutters and I wanted to try doing the black line thing so
Considering you're just starting a sharpie/Gundam Marker/ink pen and a rubber eraser are all you need. Just go along the groves with the ink pen and fix any mistake/remove excess ink with the eraser.
from this I'm going to get these pens. does that sound good? anything else I'd want?

They should get the ob done. Just those and an eraser are all you need. You might want to pick up some gundam/tamiya markers if you want to add painted details to a kit.
actual painting might be going over the laziness border for me. I think the next thing I'd be willing to do is sand the little nubs after clipping them

You don't have to paint the whole kit, just some details. For example take a look at my The O kit.

I just added some details to it. Purple for the legs, red for the cables and black for some details for areas that need a lot of black such as the knuckles. They're simple but add a lot of detail to the kit.

I enjoyed this "arc". I wish they would have actually kept the entirety of the Denial fight into one Ep. There was no reason to split it up. It just made the fight feel less than what it was because of it. Also;

ANIMATED CROSSBONE FULL CLOTH!
