Really enjoyed the second issue. Beginning to really see the differences between this universe and Earth-616.

Now the longer waits begin =(

Just finished reading #2. The story is getting to be pretty interesting. Seeing a different version of a certain lawyer was cool, as was the "special guest star" of the issue. It's
a Spider-Ham that exists only in Gwen's head
.

Also, Gwen is shown in the costume with the hood off, for those of you who hated the hood. But it's only a few panels.

The "special guest star" was amazing. I was giggling like a crazy person. I definitely wouldn't mind if it was a recurring character.

Went to hastings and they didn't have it so hoping its down there tomorrow. I really don't want the digital copy. Wish Skottie Young did more variant covers.

Re-posting my thoughts on #2 from the Comics OT:
Spider Gwen 2 was much better than the first issue. They're fleshing out her world more and it's becoming a lot more interesting.

Matt is fucking awesome in this universe. Love the twist with him. I really like how they're setting up for Black Cat to be in a rival band too. I appreciate the rise of Black Cat appearances even if SpOck had to punch her to make it happen

Really excited for the future of this universe. It's got lots of potential.

Oh yeah, I was excited at seeing him in this issue. I also enjoyed the scenes Captain Stacy was in. Looks like the series is going to explore the Stacy family's relationship with each other.

Gonna crosspost mine too:

-Spider-Gwen #2

Good issue. Great art, and the story doesn't feel like it will be a retreading of early years of Spider-Man and will instead grow into its own thing. The villains dynamic is getting interesting and the whole
imaginary Spider-Ham thing was pretty fun ("how the FUCK is Spider-Ham here?"
:lol). I'm also glad they're focusing on Captain Stacy knowing her identity, which I think is a good spin on things.

Silk #1 was a stronger start but to be fair she already had a lot of setup ready from AMS. Curious to know how both series will unravel, I definitely hope both will deliver.

Oh yeah, I read issue #2 of this and Silk a couple days ago.

Gwen is good and getting better, but man, Silk's got the edge for me. More Black Cat next issue = hype, too.

Figure I could get some help from someone knowledgeable on Spider Gwen, just came from Comic Con today in the UK and picked up Spider Gwen #1. I recall the comic book clerk telling me about an origin comic for her but it completely flew over my head till I started reading it, anyone know the comic's name?

Edge of Spider-Verse #2

finished #1 and #2 today (I have a backlog, so sue me).

Quite good, I definitely have the urge to continue with this one more than I did with Silk (which was pretty much one and done with me, no interest there).

Seeing the alt-universe takes on established characters is half the fun here. Murdock in particular looks interesting. #2 implies that
he's already daredevil
so we'll see how that one works out.

Castle looks like he's going to be a barrel of fun as the story rolls on as well.

Reading #3

Ms. Stacy is very bad at the secret part of secret identity.

Also childhood friends, like my annie mays

I gotta get used to the art style on this. It is very well done, don't get me wrong. But, I don't like how the faces are drawn for a lot of the characters. Namely, Gwen.

Just read #3 and
Gwen sure is careless but it'll be interesting to see where things go from here.
I also sketched some Gwen since I've been neglecting my drawing routine for a while!

I love that sketch!! Do you mind if I pin it to Spider-Gwen board on Pinterest?

I stopped buying physical comics because I don't have a shop within an hour of me, how long until Spider Gwen hits the Marvel Comics AP? Loving the idea, design and the whole she died/he died thing with 616 Spidey.

This book thus far is kinda disappointing. It's still alright, I like the art. But man, considering the fucking hype the costume and concept generated, it's really not capturing me the way I'd hoped. I'm liking Silk a lot more, honestly. I still really don't feel like I connect to Gwen to anywhere near the same degree as Cindy. So far Captain Stacy probably has the more interesting position than she does.

Go read Silk.

What it needs is a better Spider-Woman to Gwen ratio. We need Gwen living a daily life, doing more things with the Mary Janes, having friends, etc. Stuff like Cindy working and connecting with people. Unfortunately it wouldn't surprise me if editorial said something like "keep her in costume as much as possible!!" since that's what got Spider-Gwen so popular to begin with.

Hopefully after this arc ends the character will have time to grow and the story will have more breathing room. I really hope they aren't stalling in order to
bring her into Earth 616
though, the world-building here shows promise and I like what they set up so far, with characters like Castle and George Stacy already going beyond the novelty of being alternate versions.

Agreed. The Cindy out of costume stuff is super interesting, and Gwen hasn't really had any of that outside a brief conversation with some of the Mary Janes. I still enjoy reading Spider-Gwen, but hope that things pick up.
