I started finasteride really really early and I can say its been working. I did't lose much hair but I noticed and got worried about thinning pretty early on my line so I started it...since then my life grew back and I havent lost hair anywhere else. It's annecdotal but finride seems to be the best option for hairloss outside of transplant. Photo of my line currently...it was about two inches further back, been about where it is for 3 years but again I got to it reeeally early. I know finride is best for maintence but some may experience alot of regrowth...visit r/tressless.Hey all, so is there really any way (aside from a transplant) to get your hair to re-grow on the top of your head in areas where its thinning out? You see all these ads for hims, etc....where they swear up and down that putting these chemicals/lotions, etc....on your head will force your hair to start growing again but it just seems like all BS to me.
Has anyone had any success with anything that wasn't a transplant and that didn't cost thousands of dollars?
My barber wears a toupee. But he didn't when I started going to him. He had a little David Letterman-esque tuft of hair and that was it. Then I walked in one day and he had a full head of (fake) hair. Really bizarre.
I want to believe.Ok, you can laugh all you want, but I had hair loss. Nothing was helping. Until I saw a video on youtube. There was garlic rubbed into the hair and over the night it has been effective. It stinks like hell and it's best to sleep alone, but it helped me after a few times and I haven't really lost hair again.
Maybe if the UK dumbass didn’t try to cut corners on something as important to get right as a hair transplant he wouldn’t have the problem? He got it fixed later in the UK, because of course he did.Brit left with horrific scars after botched £1,250 hair transplant in Turkey

Not anymore insane than getting breast implants, wouldn’t you think? The desire stems from the same source. With a key difference - you weren’t born bald. It can be pretty rough when you used to have a full head of hair, especially when you start balding later than usual.I think it's insane to take drugs or get surgery because of hair loss.
Just shave it off.

If anything really worked for hair loss it would be literally sell like viagra. It's all bullshit unless the science says so.
So, bald it is.

can they implant body hair, or animal hair so they dont have to suck it out of the back of your head?A happy ending. I never understood why people search for the cheap option when it comes to surgery.

You can just cut the pills into quarters. Thus the cost is 3/month. Math!I understood that a hair transplant takes hair bulbs that should be immune to the negative effects DHT. If you really have to take finasteride forever even after a transplant, it’s a bummer.
Finasteride is a big business, btw. In Italy, a month of 5mg pills for prostatic hypertrophy (which is covered by our NHS equivalent) costs around €12. A month of 1mg pills for hair loss is around €30 for the cheapest generic, but it was more than €50 when I tried it. Do the math and… yeah.
You know what, I believe you. I looked it up andOk, you can laugh all you want, but I had hair loss. Nothing was helping. Until I saw a video on youtube. The smell sucks though.Garlic has antibacterial antifungal, antiviral, and antiseptic properties from allicin. Allicin helps to kill the bacteria causing acne. It also helps to reduce swelling and inflammation, and improve blood circulation. These beneficial effects allow the skin to receive more nutrients. Garlic also has thiosulfinates, which can act as an antimicrobial. Many believe that with regular use, it clears the skin.
Garlic also contains other vitamins and minerals that are believed to combat acne, like vitamin C, vitamin B-6, selenium, copper, and zinc (used to control oily substances). Garlic has also been shown to have potential effects on several medical conditions like cancer, psoriasis, and wound healing
Many people don't believe it, but it helped me. Op asked for low cost methods, and it was just one that helped. You can just cut the pills into quarters. Thus the cost is 3/month. Math!

How's your breakfast? Is your hair nourished?
Wholegrain breakfast cereals and toast bread have selenium, copper and zinc and other micronutrients that you should get daily. Vitamins from fruit or multivitamin fruit juice help you absorb those nutrients. After you get your minerals and vitamins in order, make sure the good stuff reaches your scalp through bloodflow:
-Daily aerobic exercise, maybe even scalp massage.
-Chocolate or a cup of chocolate milk to dilate blood vessels.
Doing all these things twice a day should max out the nutritional side of hair growth. After that feel free to turn to drugs.
Finally, if you have redness or inflammation in the scalp, get that fixed too.
edit: and skip regular caffeine use as it constricts blood vessels and skip regular alcohol use because it robs your micronutrients. Alcohol dilates blood vessels so it might have an opposite effect too.
edit2: I've read that topically applied caffeine and alcohol might have the opposite effect and stimulate bloodflow.
can they implant body hair, or animal hair so they dont have to suck it out of the back of your head?
The DHT sensitivity seems to vary wildly person by person. Blood flow boosts growth and DHT reduces growth. I don't see why these two forces can't be balanced in some individuals, such that increased blow flow alone keeps hair follicles alive, as proved by rogaine etc.Sorry, but if you have androgenic alopecia, that would at best slow down the loss, but never stop it and you'd go bald in the end.
In androgenic alopecia, it's DHT destroying the hair follicles, and once they are gone they don't come back.
So in the future you could potentially pay like 2 million dollars or something insane and they can clone your hair follicles and implant them to give you a full head of hairI heard they can technically use your body hair but, texture and overall look dont always match the hair on your head so it could be goofy looking. Also might be complete BS lol, I think I heard that on a podcast.
The future is going to be cloning where they pluck one hair and clone you like 10,000 of them. But alas not here just yet.
For neograft though which is what I had... the missing hair on the back of your head is undetectable. You cant notice it at all once it heals (unless you do the procedure several times maybe).
The way its done you dont get the line scar like the old school method, they pluck it in like a checkerboard pattern so its even.
Yeah its like that video AJUMP posted
I honestly don't see what's wrong with getting a wig.I think it's insane to take drugs or get surgery because of hair loss.
Just shave it off.

Yeah. Them long term bald guys need to learn to introduce their new hair slowly. It's embarrassing for all of us when they come bouncing in like Beyonce claiming they just decided to let it grow out.My barber wears a toupee. But he didn't when I started going to him. He had a little David Letterman-esque tuft of hair and that was it. Then I walked in one day and he had a full head of (fake) hair. Really bizarre.
Uh, Finasteride users outnumber Sildenafil (Viagra) users in the United States by about 8 times. If anything really worked for hair loss it would be literally sell like viagra. It's all bullshit unless the science says so.

Finasteride is one of the most well studied drugs in the world. That's quite literally not true. There are two drugs known to prevent further hair loss: finasteride and dutasteride.
Minoxidil is known to promote growth of existing hair.
All of them do sell very well.
Are there too few studies into these drugs and their possible side effects? Yes, absolutely.
Now, there is currently no known way to revive hair roots that are too badly damaged or cause new hair roots to be produced.
Treatments only work if started early enough. Bezos hair was likely too far gone by the time he was in a position to do anything about it.Look at this guy :
Pretty sure he alone has more monet than all Gaf members.
If there were a real hair loss/regenerate threatment he could easily have tons of hair.
Look at The Rock or other bald millionary...they dont have hair because they are fine the way they are or there is no a threatment no matter the money.
So every time I see those $100.00 U.S. shampos that make hair grow y feel sorry for the people that buy them.

He was already too far gone almost 30 years ago lol

I just don’t see the point for holding to scraps - you are more manly, don’t have so much issue in the summer and save a lot on the barber.Bezos started Amazon in 1994, so that photo is probably a few years before Finasteride became FDA approved for hair loss. If I only had scraps of hair like that leftover, I also wouldn't bother.
Musk OTOH is almost certainly on Finasteride or Dutasteride (and had a hair transplant).
