I feel like the only person who hard disagrees with this. If Half-Life was Quake, Black Mesa was a Disney Pixar game.

HL2 received a lot of half assed fan made updates and "remasters" over the years so I doubt this one will be better. Most just focus on changing the lighting or the gameplay which is idiotic. Game needs environmental details more than ever as most levels feel very empty.

The real remaster will be when the already excellent Half-Life 2: VR Mod releases the visuals (optional) update that's in development and will bring faithfully recreated/upscaled high-res textures and gorgeous next-gen lighting.
