Two things that are right on the money are lighting and level design.

Textures are largely either bland or dogshit.

It's almost like you're looking at a beta.

I think that's a fair evaluation. Maybe I need to see the grass in motion. In screenshots it looks aliased and kind of repetitive.

BUT I do like the sand.

Click on thier handle, then select view profile. Then "add to Ignore list".

I've saved myself much brain cell loss over the years with it.

Bummer that this map won't be in the public beta. From the thread from this morning though we should see it in some print coverage soon though.

I thought the beta was supposed to feature the final graphics and art assets of the game.

No it isn't. Frankles already said that it will be better than the alpha, but still missing many things from the final game.

Um, I don't want to get banned or anything but that video kind of left me with the impression it doesn't look a LOT different than Halo 2. I'm a bit unimpressed to be honest. Did Halo 2 have that good of graphics? Is the Youtube quality crap?


I don't know really, I was always a big fan of the single player and co-op campaign in Halo 1 and 2, maybe that's where the incredible graphical leap will lie.

I agree with you totally, that's one of the worst Halo 2 shots I've seen. If your going to make a comparison, don't blatently choose the worst shot to back your view up the most. It's too obvious.

if bungie is already using a similar system to the one they have been using with halo 2 to keep track of these matches (and i believe they do, since it would help their beta testing) then it will be very easy for them to understand who leaked this footage.

Won't comment on the graphics; too early, and what the game looks like in multiplayer, it really doesn' t matter at all; shiled looks cool, but isn't the game faster than it used to ? i hope not, pacing in halo was just perfect.
