Hopping on for a bit of after hours Halo. Been looking to play with some more gaffers so hit me up if you're on and doing some custom games, or whatever. GT: carpal.

Come on online forum!

Change Team Slayer back to 4 per team. Why 5? Makes smaller maps more crowded and having to press up on the dpad to talk now is fucking annoying.

Make Big Team Slayer instead if you want more people in Team Slayer.
Getting sick of playing with retards that don't know what a VIP, Flag, or Bomb is.

I'm getting tired of playing social, but I don't want to play ranked with some random retards so if anyone from GAF wants to hit up some ranked with me (I don't have a specific time, just whenever I'm on) go ahead and add me. GT is GAZERK.

*looooong sigh*

I played at least 25 games last night yet bungie.net is only showing 2.

Are my stats going to show up eventually or what? As of now it says I've only played a total of 14 matchmade games.

Edit: Nevermind, by "last night" I meant the 8th... and I also used my alt account, which explains why they're not showing up.

My mistake.

But, there's still a couple games that are missing. :)

Why is there no KOTH and Oddball in Team Objective, I mean really? 1 Sided VIP is also the worst game mode ever, at least give the VIP an OS or something, christ. Such a terrible hopper at the moment.

Looks like I've hit my team slayer ceiling. I'm stuck between 21 to 24. I constantly stay within that range. That is the end of me...

I need some new tips or tricks.

Looks more like you hit the rifle... which is bleeding D:

I disagree.
Just put it down to lag, dralla. If you see that type of thing in a LAN match then you know something is up for sure.

Random question, I was wondering if anyone (of the halo multiplayer dedicated kind) would like to join up on Gamebattles, to form up a 2 man squad for the "Doubles" ladder?

I've gained an interest in the competitive side of gaming, but don't get me wrong, I'm not a egotistic type or anything, I'm just tired of the random matchmaking smash-ups. But above all else, I just want to have fun and compete.

So yeah, if anyone is interested.. just check out GameBattles site (Associated with MLG) for yourself and send me a Friend Request if it sounds cool to you. Thanks.

Damn, I kinda want to enter that, it'd be pretty fun.

Ok, I think Forge is kind of buggy. I've placed a single spawn point for a third team (i.e. me in green) while there were two other teams present consisting out of at least two people (red and blue). I haven't touched the other default spawn points in Valhalla but no matter what I do, I won't spawn in my "own" spawn point I've assigned on the map. Anyone have an idea what I should do to make mine actually work?

That reminds me of something from a few days ago. We're doing Big Team Battle I think, and we have on random join our team. In the lobby he starts asking people if anyone will help him out, and he's met with NOs and so forth. One dude is like okay, what do you want, and the guy says he's made this map and it's in beta and he needs people to help him test it. So we get into the actual game and he starts asking us (very seriously) if we can help him test this map, it's for charity. So I ask what charity it is for, and he says (and he sounds completely serious here, I'm not sure if he was insane or if he just phrased it very badly, I think it's the latter) it's for "the invisible children in Africa."

Sometimes you have to love Xbox Live. More seriously though, good luck with that Falkor (I take it you are participating).

Yes I will be. My cousin suffers from Breast Cancer. It's an amazing cause. and the Minimum donation is only $10, so no one has any excuse for not signing up!!! (except of course if they are not available at that date/time)

I hate the new sniper feel also, im glad its harder to get those headshots but somehow it feels like the gun has travel distance lag thats a little random now and again. I can have a red crosshair over a guy running along but when I shoot its a complete miss, then someone can pop me while im running between rocks no problem.

Rather annoying, feels like I can't pick up the sniper at all and might as well use a BR

So like my stats page on bnet has always been fairly up to date, maybe 10 minutes or so behind when I play online, but today it seems to have gone back like a week for no reason at all, showing my old armour setup and colour theme, my old exp and my old badges, thankfully my screenshots were still normal.

I can understand fixing the broken accounts but mine was fine :-<

1 sided VIP really is a terrible gametype:

1. The VIP now has a waypoint, meaning you cannot use stealth to help win (your only real defence)
2. The VIP does not have an overshield
3. The rounds end after one kill
4. The time to complete the objective vs round time is completely unbalanced. Surviving for 4 minutes when you have an entire team after you is almost impossible, no matter how good your team is. You only have to die once after all.

I don't know how this got through testing. It has the potential to be great:

1. Give the VIP a 2x overshield
2. Make rounds end after 3 or 5 kills, or seriously reduce the round time (I favour the former)
3. Don't limit VIP to 1 sided VIP. A VIP for each side works well as well!

With an overshield, the VIP can also be used strategically, instead of cowering in a corner waiting to be blasted to pieces in seconds. If you use him offensively, he is more powerful, but equally a bigger target.

Likewise by increasing the kills per round, it would make the game much more interesting, and reduce the chances of drawing. Good teams would kill the VIP more than once, but in it's current state, it's very hard NOT to score.

I completely agree Photolysis. I'm not sure if any of my one-sided VIP games have ever resulted in anything but a tie.

The recent inclusion of the waypoint makes absolutely no sense to me. As you said, stealth was pretty much the only reliable form of defense - simply sealing off your VIP in a room and guarding it will only work for so long. And there would be amazingly tense moments when the enemy made it to the VIP but he'd somehow manage to snake away undetected and find a new hiding spot. With the waypoint none of this is possible. It's now just a matter of wave after wave of assaults towards the waypoint, and the VIP will eventually be brought down.

I consider the Sniper Rifle the "luck shot" rifle. When I TRY to use it, I miss.. other times, I pull off extremely lucky headshots. Admittedly, it takes a LOT more skill to use. But eh.. most times its not worth the effort. My sensitivity also plays a huge factor (I use 7 HIGH to 9, depends on how I feel).

Last night I was playing with a guy who's a 34 or so and a couple others who are in the 20s. I am a 1 in team slayer. Needless to say matchmaking had a hard time with that kind of set up. Anyway, we got games with guys in the mid 20s. I don't think I'm that bad (typically around a 1.15 K/D), but in the two matches I played I was -19.

Now I'm the one that needs some tips and tricks. :lol

I agree with everything you said except #3. If you give each team a VIP, why would you call it one-sided VIP? It'd be a regular VIP match with rounds. Give the VIP an overshield, set the game up with more than one kill or possibly unlimited VIP kills in a certain time frame. If you're going to add the overshield, add the waypoint. If you don't have the overshield, take it off. There should be a balance there. Right now, it's just seek and destroy.

I'm not referring to 1 sided VIP there; 1 sided VIP with 2 VIPs is clearly nonsense!

All I'm saying is that multi-sided VIP should be included in Team Skirmish as well as 1 sided.

I played VIP in Big Team Battle today and it was pretty fun. You can really distract the other team from going after the VIP. I would like 2-sided VIP in Skirmish as well. 1-Sided...Well, sucks.

Also, anyone interested in a GAF Infection or Rocket Race game tonight? I've yet to play either of these much talked about game types and I'll be home and ready to play around 9:30. If anyone is interested send me an invite. RyoGCH is my GT for those of you who don't know.

I've been toying with a 1 side VIP gametype to make it... you know... decent...

Unfortunately I haven't had an opportunity to really test it with a competitive group. Basically the VIP has a high damage resistance but does not recover shields. The issue with this however is that the VIP can pick up overshields.

I've also tried it with 4x overshields (Interesting bug, if you pick up the overshield while you have 4x shields you actually lose a bit of shielding), which would suck for the VIP in a map with plasma pistols, but perhaps this is what would make it work.

You're lucky you were playing with friends or you would have been called every racial epithet in the book. I know from experience...

That sounds a poor fix for a fairly uncomplicated issue.

All that is needed to fix the gametype is to give the VIP 2x overshield, and allow him to be killed more than once per round.

I haven't played it because it always gets vetoed by I see why it sucks and your fix sounds plausible.
