Got placed into Plat 1. Think I lost 2 maybe 3 of the placement games, 1 cause of someone leaving which sucks but oh well.

You shouldn't have quit. Because it'll tank your rating especially if it was in the first 10 matches, plus you probably guaranteed the rest of your team a loss with one man down as well. Just saying. I think the map played alright in beta though. Have to see how final version plays. This was the map with the sniper and rocket launcher right?

From what I read it's exactly what you said. First 10 games it's all your personal stats. After that only winning matters. Also it sounds like your ranking is per game type. So you could be in one tier for Slayer and another for Breakout, etc.
