Halo: MCC Multiplayer "1th" patch "fix" live!

Not working for me either. Spent over 15 minutes searching for a game in halo 2 anniversary and about the same time searching for a game in big team battle and then I get an error message pop up. "You have been disconnected from xbox live"

I go to dash and erm nope I'm still connected to xbox live. Try destiny and it boots up fine. Go back to halo and I've been searching now for half an hour without finding a game.

Really frustrating.

who is saying this is the worst thing? And are you the same guy who said people over the age of 12 are retarded if they go out in public with a handheld and that handhelds are just one big industry conspiracy to take our money? In other words: we all have our sensitive subjects.

Nobody is being dramatic. People are just angry that a game they paid money for does not work. And people will stay bitching about it until it does work. Pretty simple stuff. You guys are the ones who keep trying to make this into some psycho reaction. It is -exactly- the reaction that should be occurring right now.
 
Well I got into a total of 4 matches, with a handful of matches being dead by the time the game loaded (players didnt connect). I'll try again tomorrow, but overall I didn't see much progress on my side of things :\

I agree. Halo is the main reason why many people have bought a Xbox console in the first place, the franchise that made the Xbox brand popular in the first place.

If people start completely turning against the franchise as a whole due to the huge fuckups that 343 made with Halo 4 & with this collection, then Microsoft has absolutely nothing left, as the Halo franchise is the biggest cash cow that they have. Series like Fable, Forza, or even Gears aren't as huge as Halo is to help make up for that.
 
My love for this franchise is pretty much at zero after this whole debacle. Really unfortunate too since this was suppose to be the game that made me like halo again after 4

I feel like this patch just transferred all matchmaking to p2p until they figure out what's going on. An assumption there, of course.
 
Don't worry guys, after only 1 and half weeks we have big patch to fix the game! Yay!

Turns out it doesn't work.. Halo 5 is going to have to be pretty great to not kill this franchise at this point.

Its 343i again, it'll probably be just as much of an abomination as halo 4 whilst having the same shit ass netcode as mcc. The franchise is already dead.

I do think people are going a bit over the top in this thread. However I am one of the people that forked out for an Xbone just to play my favourite franchise so I suppose this affects me more than most? I'm not mad; I'm disappointed.I am offloading the console whilst I can still get a good price for it. (It was against my better judgement anyway in all honesty)

Why not wait until its fixed completely ?

The patch has obviously improoved the situation and so will the next one.

Just have a little patience. It´s not like HALO is the only thing we have to play :-)
 
I'm thinking matchmaking will be consistently playable for 90% of people in two weeks. That's already too late for a lot of people.

Currently it sounds like it is only playable for 60% of people (based off impressions in this thread and the fact that the people who are reporting issues are more likely to post than those who are not). Watching twitch streams/reading chats suggests major improvements for a lot of people, but the performance is varying throughout the day. Quite troubling.

UI fixes may take a month or more; they seem to have some of the more serious issues.

I'm not expecting campaign framerate patches. Stability yes, but don't expect an increase in graphical fidelity or performance in the short term.


The strangest thing about this game is that the problems affect people differently despite all of them having what is essentially an identical product. Some people have flawless SP campaigns or find games in matchmaking quickly, and for others nothing works well.

On a final note; it's troubling to see new glitches like UI lag be introduced with the patch. They need to keep that under control before it becomes something like we see out of the Battlefield games where they fix X and break Y with every patch (although the breaks were usually hilarious, see the smoke launcher glitch with the ACR in BF3). Actually, the more I think about this, the more it reminds me of Battlefield 4. The game itself was pretty good (debatable, I know), but major issues drove people away.
 
Guess I'll be sticking with Far Cry 4 this weekend.

Next time I touch my XB1 will be to play the Halo 5 beta. I wonder if it will be a total clusterfuck as well.

It was an impulse purchase based off my HUGE adoration of Halo as a franchise. I purchased a different console at launch and I've been more than happy with it. I'll revisit the potential Xbox Buyers club when Halo 5 hits after the Hardware and OS revision. (Maybe!)
 
Well I gave it a shot for about an hour or two tonight after the update. It took a couple tries. I got the 'disconnected from host' message the first two times; but after that I got into 3 or 4 games in pretty quick succession without a hitch, less than one minute of searching if I were to guess. This was in team slayer.

Tried to party up with a friend, and we got into one game. Ended up on the same team and finished it out. We were going to try a different playlist so I tried to back out with my party, and it was the same story as before. It looked like we were together at first, but apparently we weren't. I was kicked out of the game to the dashboard at one point. It looks like the party system is still borked because after I loaded the game back up I wasn't able to invite him. After I reloaded the game he was able to invite me, and we got into 3 games back to back. Same team on the first game but opposite teams on the rest.

So I guess it's progress in the fact that I'm consistently getting into matches. Judging by some other people though it seems it was more or less just luck. Probably just the nostalgia talking, but just getting into games made it fun for me. So at least it's improving in my case.

General consensus, Hang'em High is not fit to be a big team battle map.

I admire you guys. After playing Halo Anniversary 360 with a friend (we bought it to play the coop campaign together, and gave up due to so much lag on one side), I sweared I would never buy anything related to 343. We were scammed, literally. Never again. Halo died this day for me.
 
Took a bit to download but first match went perfectly. 🙌🙌🙌

Still have a problem where I beat a Halo 4 mission like six times now and no cheevo 👎👎👎

I don't know if they fixed it, but there was some bug that made it restart from a previous chunk or something? I'm not sure what they call it. EverytimeI turned off my box or paused the download it went back to 31% so I just ended up leaving the thing on all night. Could also be due to the fact that the download is just a mere 60 gigs. Took me ages on a 25 Mbit connection.

Huh. Just Googled it and it said Destiny is 40 gigs, so that doesn't add up. Guess all I can tell you is it took me approximately 20 hours or so (preloaded it) to download MCC. Granted I'm fairly certain my ISP is throttling my speed.

The matchmaking is quicker for solo matchmaking, but with friends? total fucking nightmare

....I ask myself why don't I give up on this piece of shit and just trade it in. I'm not fond of a game wasting my time and money like this. And I love how this game plays when I actually get into a match (especially custom games), but man just getting that shit is like suffering the bullshit at the DMV or something.
 
Can't believe this is still such a broken mess after this 1.4 GB update. Was able to play 4 matches in 3 hours. The party system is completely fucked, I don't see any changes from what it was before, to release a product in such a state is shameful. Everyone involved in this collection should feel terrible they released it like this. There are no excuses for this type of shit. Seriously regret ever giving them any of my money because they don't deserve it. I feel terrible for those who haven't even been able to play and those who bought the Xbox One for this game.
 
Uneven matching now I know I'm a beast gaf but I hate having to try so hard every game.

Especially 5v4 on the smallest maps.

343i for 1.5gb it's still absolutely fucked, GG

This can't be serious. Me and my friend were having the same exact issues. It was extremely annoying we would get kicked out of our party after every game and take ages to get back together. We were going to try again today but I couldn't. These issues have still not been resolved is shameful.
 
I don't see how they could release a game in this state, it has to be a calculated gamble to push the console and hope people put up with it, it's similar to the attitude about those early 360's and RROD. I'm getting tired of gaming, perhaps i'm too old to put up with the grubby attitude towards our money and being taken for granted. I can't think of any other industry where this stuff would be tolerated.

The other day I was dumbfounded in the MCC OT, because I was asking why in Halo CE 360, the checkpoints are not saved when playing co-op. I was told that it has always been like that in Halo, and no Halo games save checkpoints while playing co-op.

Meanwhile I've poured hundreds of hours into Gears of War and there is no co-op lag in Gears, nor did I ever have to deal with a lack of saved checkpoints in Gears of War.
