Halo: MCC Multiplayer "1th" patch "fix" live!

What a joke, honestly. You simply cannot afford to mess up your flagship title like this.

What's even more infuriating are the morons defending this on the waypoint forums. I mean, have some standards ffs.

It could help actually. Publications will be fearful of posting scores upon release for fear of the MP being broken, so only the less reputable places will score it, inflating the MC average.

Both IGN and Gamespot (and probably some others) are witholding their scores for Smash Wii U until they can test the online.

I think a lot of places are going to be changing their review policies in the wake of recent AAA games' technical issues. Same thing's happening with Day 1 embargoes, hopefully.

All I know is that the game is outsourced to kingdom come. Had it been made by 343 exclusively, we would have seen a way different and better outcome that's for sure.

Them outsourcing the freaking UI was perhaps their most grievous mistake. I'm still thinking that how the networking reacting to the UI is causing the majority of issues with this release.

I can't even process this comment. It is perhaps the most asinine reason for anything I've ever read on this forum.

It's not too bad.

Dev ships 3 games.

Halo: CEA was riddled with bugs at launch
Halo 4 was a complete letdown, with little to no support until the game had lost half its population
Halo: MCC barely works for some players.

3 strikes, you're out.

As for ADS, pretty silly. You can be knocked out (like every other halo, ever)... and ADS doesn't make your shots more accurate. It's the same as zooming in while using a br, just a different UI.

Halo 5 deserves lower sales because of Halo MCC bugs. Okay.

I think anyone going into Halo 5 on day one (as in first day sales like I said), should definitely be wary and would be prudent to hold off until they know it is stable. Just like I would suggest for Driveclub 2.

Okay?

Whelp, that's depressing. Just checking in to see if I should bother playing this yet. I guess I still have to wait. I've gone through the first couple missions in CE but stopped playing so I wouldn't run into any issues.

CEA had bugs? I don't remember that at all. I played through the whole game without any issues. Halo 4 was a fine game. I didn't like the multi-player as much, but I really liked the single player, the game was beautiful and didn't have any technical issues that I recall.

Online Co-op especially the library was unplayable because the framerate was awful.

I think the intent of his post is that he wants the message to be sent to developers and publishers that releasing a buggy product can also greatly impact your future revenues. If these things start having real financial consequences (i.e. something the execs care about) instead of just upset early adopters and fans (i.e. things the execs don't give a damn about), then we'll start seeing this half-finished game nonsense come to and end.

I like how before the game launches people were all like..

"Don't give 343i all the credit, they barely developed any of this collection! *list of Developers*

and now that the game came out and needs a patch before it works correctly it's

"Fuck 343i, they stole my money and this is the biggest launch travesty of all time! Boycott Halo 5!".

Just funny to see.

That said, I never tried multi prior to the patch, so I can't speak for that, but after the patch, I was unable to find a match.

Thread is a bummer. I was planning on getting an Xbone for black friday but MCC is the only game I'm interested in right now. If it doesn't get fixed in the next week I suppose that ship has sailed and I'll probably wait till Halo 5...well after release just to make sure of course.

It still baffles my mind that a flagship title would get outsourced like this.

I'm not trying to be THAT asshole, but... it is a first party for MS after all. But really, I don't think anyone could of done what Bungie did with Halo. No one. Or get someone that actually knows how to fix bugs and actually get good connections going. Bungie laid the base for all these games, 343i comes in, takes charge, tries to get the running on newer hardware and falls on their faces with it.

That's the thing, 343i did a huge disservice to themselves by putting their name on the box. Everyone is blaming them for everything and they didn't actually work on most of it. Lets see how Halo 5 turns out.

MCC is a travesty that needs to be overshadowed sooner than later.

From what I remember, yes. Many players had issues during the first month (that were actually patched properly)

It's all opinion and personal preference, though. Some want to return MCC as half the game isn't functional. More power to them - - that's $60 that they can use towards a product that actually works, or something like petrol for their vehicle.

I guess the point is that Halo 5 needs to actually work before people start throwing their money at a franchise.

So now I am getting a message that reads

"! MULTIPLAYER IS NOT ALLOWED

The multiplayer feature is blocked due to your Xbox LIVE settings. Please make sure you have the correct Xbox LIVE account and your Family settings are turned off"

What gives? Nothing has changed since I was searching for matches a few hours ago. (Literally nothing since I never got into a match)

If you changed nothing, I would not be so worried. Its probably just one more bug, and you may actually find someone soon with the same problem.

Still can't get into a game with the patch, I keep getting a connection failed message. This release is comically bad. Going back to other MP games now.

Ehh, I talked to Xbox support about a refund and they told me that 343 has a patch planned for today and tomorrow and that they "couldn't" issue a refund while the issue is being resolved. I saved the convo and will be calling tomorrow again

Wow. I feel like giving you guys a hard time for all the shit I took in the Destiny threads about MCC being the best bungie game to come out this year etc etc. but honestly this fucking sucks.

I know they said on Twitter they were going to tell us the latest "ASAP"...

For me... Their ASAP isn't ASAPish enough...

What is taking so long to just give us an update on the situation? Assuming it's taking time to go through the various PR filters?

After getting duped to buy ET for my Atari 2600 that cost $40 back I the 80s. This stuff does not phase me at all.

OG gamer right here...

I'm not even that old, and while frustrated, I seem to have a lot more patience than those who seem to feverishly posting about Halo lately.

While they had a hand in Halo CEA, others studios did some of the work. Buck stops at 343 though.

They have had a rocky start. It's still not easy making a AAA studio with a large money cheat.

I've not forgotten their mess of Reach playlists when they took over from Bungie, DLC was bloody worthless not long after release. Never really bothered catereing to Halo 3 either. Community should be paramount and you'll get rewarded.

Spartan Assault micro-transactions.

343 seem so focused on expanding Halo before building solid foundations that deserve to be built on. Acting like Halo is Star Wars or the Marvel Universe seems premature and ludicrous. Make a great game, make another, make a great spin off doing something different, make another, make something great which is entirely different. The scattergun approach of the media tie ins is silly and confusing. Keep them seperate, if people love the books or comics, make a game or tv/film based on it. Grow the community by treating them right and giving them great content that isn't just an excuse to sell you three things to understand one.

Wow neutral bomb in H2A is completely ruined too. They added a 5 second timer to arm the bomb instead of it auto arming. Completely ruins the match to have to stand in place for 5 seconds to arm it.

Yea. Pretty much.

I just don't care that much about this. It's just a constant stream of hyperbole about...pretty much everything.

Matchmaking seems to be still taking quite a while for me, and i'm still getting unbalanced matches. I was just put into a 5v6 after waiting close to 8 minutes for a match. I love Halo but damn. I might request a refund and get it in a few months when it works better and get Super Smash in the meantime.

Couldn't get a refund since I didn't purchase it directly from the marketplace.

It's honestly improved. Not perfect, but faster for sure. Have no choice but to wait, but this sucks right now.
