That's usually what happens, I'll go with Mark V, switch to something like Security and it's just not the same. Only time I don't have it on is when it's not available (I'm looking at you Halo 4).

Yes, this is the case. Campaign coop for H5 runs on dedicated servers. We have no peer to peer networking in the game (MP or campaign).

Is there a matchmaking system for co-op?

It's something I'd like to see as well. Even if it's just a "Campaign Level of the Day" situation, it would be nice to be able to quickly and easily jump into that co-op experience, especially given that the game is apparently designed around having teammate support.

That would be great to have matchmaking for the campaign. I used to like playing that as a palette cleanser in Reach, but sometimes second-guessed myself because of the input delay.
