Saw this via Reddit/Twitter, any ideas where its from? AR with scope, completely cosmetic or will it buff stats? (in Warzone) And can you keep the scope on in Arena, just for the looks? Edit: It does mention a recoil compensator. Reading is hard.

In the Tweet Josh confirmed to someone any pre-order bonus stuff like this is available in game to everyone.

Yeah, that's definitely going to alter Warzone performance.

Still, so long as earning REQ packs isn't too onerous, I'm okay with it. ME3 model hit the sweet spot, IMO. Anything more than 2-3 games per top-tier pack is too much.

And you can barely tell with your eyes that the scope is a complete afterthought on the AR.

That's the best buy preorder bonus, this article on beyond has all of them I think. It'll probably be more accurate at long range with the scope and recoil thing it's called a longshot so that's probably it.

Hey. What happened to ADS not affecting game mechanics?

They didn't specify Arena when talking about it so I assumed it was game wide.

Like not being salty or anything, just a legitimate question.

Ah ok, that one went completely over my head. Interesting to see an example of the non cosmetic Warzone stuff. Loving the skin.

Arena is cosmetic only. So that skin will be the only thing you'll use in Arena, the scope in Warzone.

I really like that skin, to be honest.

Well, we already know that ADS reduces spread on some weapons and does straight-up alternate mode type stuff on others. This seems more like a weapon-to-weapon change type difference than anything intrinsically linked to SmartScope, though.

The skin is pretty cool. And I know its only mechanic affecting g in Warzone

I mean that contradicts what they said in the beginning. But in practice ADS would be useless without some sort of benefit.

Well, it was always going to have some sort of benefit, even if it's just "make that guy over there bigger so I can shoot him in the face."

Already confirmed. Boltshot drops the 1sk shotgun secondary for a 2 round homing thing.

Is there a good video or some sort of summary on the multiplayer of Halo for someone who never played it?

Classic/arena/ big team battle
halo: equal starts, no loadouts, emphasis on teamwork and map control, weapons and powerups spawn on map.

Warzone: focus on big team encounters and Rec packs that modify how you play the game. PvE elements in multiplayer. Think mass effect 3 multiplayer but with an enemy team as well

Cool, thanks.
Would you say the fights in Halo take longer than in something like Black Ops 2 (haven't played the Advanced Warfare with all the movement improvements), where you're pretty much the moment someone has his sights on you?

Also, is playing with people you know more vital in this game considering the bigger emphasis on teamwork?

Cool, thanks.

Longer than average TTKs are a series trademark. 5 is dropping them down a little, but they're still much, much longer than something like COD.

And yeah, having a team you can actually communicate with is pretty important. A solid 60% of the game related posts are people bitching about awful randos :P

oh god.. that reminds me of dota

Time to kill(TTK) in Black Ops 2 is about 0.15s at close range, 0.3s at long range. Halo's rifles take 1.3-1.5s, if the last shot is a headshot. In CoD, 1 vs many situation is double kill, triple kill, mega kill etc. In Halo, it's 'shit i gotta run away and get my teammates' help' because of high TTK.

I really like the skin. However the scope looks weird, is looks very much like its just been dropped on without much thought.

In general, yes combat does take longer than a CoD title (except for swat). In CoD there's not much you can do if your enemy gets a bead on you. In Halo, by the nature of the longer TTK there's more things you can do to outplay your opponent.

For instance in cod, it's pretty easy to run through a team
http://xboxclips.com/Invert+3RB/f6bf0175-1d0f-4ff7-960c-66650eba357e I think I ran through 4-5 people with one magazine.

Where if this were CoD, I would have been dead http://xboxclips.com/Invert+3RB/cb324939-2f2b-4a71-be7e-6fbd574dd95e However, due to the higher TTK, I can be more... creative!

In my personal experience, It's much easier to take over a game by yourself in cod (especially when referencing TDM and TS) By virtue of the lower TTK + score/killstreaks a good player can effectively control a map by his/herself. So in my opinion... Halo does have more of an emphasis on teamwork versus cod. But we're really comparing grapes and raisins :)

For some reason I never saw anyone grab the Splazer either, even though it was available as a requisition. Wanted to see how Halo 5 handles it.

There is Spartan Laser gameplay. I think GameInformer's gameplay had it. The default in the demo was a white skin with red stripe instead of the classic green and red. It shoots identically, 25% energy/shot.

Halo 4 BR sounds > H5 BR sounds

H4's BR is really... chirpy? Like there's a cricket stuck in the gun. I wish the H5 BR pronounced the burst a little bit more though.

I wonder if the sounds are more I dunno... muffled I guess due them wanting the guns to sound like they would if you're encased in armor? The few times that I got to shoot an M4 you could really hear the action of the gun versus the bang of the round going off. From what I played in the beta, I really liked the sounds in H5.

I'm enjoying Black Ops 2 multiplayer right now, but it also makes me want a game with a slower pace and just different multiplayer experience in general

This really seems like something I would enjoy, but my only worry is about people to play with on a regular basis (although this thread seems to be pretty active)

I'll keep an eye on this, maybe I'll end up getting an Xbox!

The worst thing about that AR scope is that it's placed in an impractical place, and even if we were using the "it links to the spartan's HUD argument", why would it have an eyepiece on the wielder's side? Just all around goofy design.

Let's give the Warthog a cool backfire effect from the exhaust pipe while we're at it, because that's cool. And flame decals on the Scorpion and multicolored tracer rounds
(ok I actually kind of want that last one now that I think about it)

Edit: oh shit never mind. It doesn't have an eyepiece. I need to wear eyepieces.
