Your daddy
At least you have one now unlike Xand and JC.
A lot of people (including myself) think it's the best OST. The only song I really dislike is the one that plays at the end of NMPD HQ when you're fighting the banshees.I'm enjoying ODST quite a lot. But man... some of its OSTs are driving me crazy. At the (3rd stage if I'm not mistaken) the background music was like a constant horn in my years!
Am I alone at this? Cause I really enjoyed the OST in every other Halo game I played (read: Halo 1 to 4), but this one, besides not beint the case all the time, it has some really bad soundtrack in my opinion.

I played a game of it today and yeah, no hyperbole, it's terrible. Even on a great connection the hit detection is awful. It's not enjoyable to play anymore. The way it was before wasn't great, but it was playable for sure.I just played it for the first time since the update... holy sweet fuck it is awful. pistol is absolutely broken now and they better get this shit fixed fucking ASAP and not wait a goddamn month.
I actually liked a lot the soundtrack that plays in the city. But the 3rd level was entirely bad in that sense, imo. I'll check the level name and look for its soundtrack to post here!
Edit:It was the 4th level. But actually, listening to it now I liked it overall, except for that part here (until 8:36):
https://youtu.be/xIHQX2gbDBU?t=464
However, while I was playing I was under the impression it lasted much more then 1 minute!
The music for the Halo games is "frozen"—that is, in-game they can loop for much longer as necessary, but in the OST they essentially play once and transition. So it's entirely possible it played much longer for you.that means you suck <3
*Slow clap*I missed the discussion, but I'd say I'm ok with AR/Pistol starts. That's assuming I'm not going to get pinned down because the other team all have precision rifles and I get pinged before I can reach one.
I played MCC with some friends recently who used to play Halo casually years ago and I realized how much we take headshots for granted. We on this board have sunk hundreds of hours into the game and have an innate skill with Halo's precision weapons, but many people haven't had this experience (at least not in the past few years). These players have as much right to have an enjoyable Halo game as we do. I ended up having our team vote for AR starts because it at least give them a fighting chance against players who had much more recent practice than them. We played one game of SWAT and it was bad, and BR start customs gave me way too much of an advantage. Fiesta slayer actually ended up being the most popular game type. Go figure.
And if it's any consolation, we'll probably get our BR/DMR starts a few months after the game comes out anyway since most players still around should have gotten good at head shots by then. Isn't this what they did for H2, H3, and MCC, after all?

According to their networking presentation at GDC, quite the opposite.Destiny uses dedicated servers for PvE for all the heavy lifting.
It's not like there can only ever be one reason behind a decision. The "gameplay reasons we made these choices" all happen to align strangely well with a need to cut down on bandwidth.Less physics objects was to counter potential cheese.
Loot is local to you is also for balance reasons, so that they can have perks or modifiers that change what drop for you and nobody else. And also keeps assholes from vacuuming up all of the ammo before you can get to it.
That would only be true if the P2P host had to handle all areas that the party was present in at once. This is the cleverness of Destiny's system; P2P hosts handle individual areas, and the server-side activity host splits and rejoins the P2P instances as needed. In your example, the players in different areas would be communicating with different physics/AI/whatever hosts. The game lets you be all the way down in the Vault of Glass entrance, another teammate up in the Terminus and another deep inside the Strike area of Venus at the same time. If you were peer hosted, a 360 wouldn't be able to properly network your movement if you were in a level it didn't even have loaded, and it certainly wouldn't be able to support the full 30~ AI in each of those separate instances.
People in the Halo OT are also playing splatoon? I just hit rank C myself!*Slow clap*
side note: Slpatoon's ranks actually work, actually had to work from going from C- to just C and losing drops your rank up meter.
Anyone else catch the article on Kotaku today about The Library? Good read.
http://kotaku.com/in-defense-of-the-flood-halos-most-hated-enemy-1708166818
The Library is the hardest level in the game by far, a cruel gauntlet featuring seemingly never-ending waves of Halos toughest enemies.
A magnum/pistol should never able to outshoot a BR/DMR or whatever. Thats what i mean. And thats why i think that we dont need another CE Pistol. Thats why we got all the other weapons for.Anyway, the pistol will be viable at all ranges (and overall harder to use than the BR), and it will be noticeably more difficult to use at long range. Rifles will still have the advantage at longer ranges, but if a magnum-wielder is skilled enough, he can out-shoot those players. The player will be able to defend himself off-spawn, and with a higher-skilled weapon. BR starts will make the pistol completely useless, and depending on the map, it will promote static gameplay (peak shooting).
I'm gonna pick it up soon-ish. I'm having a hard time dropping $60 on it, but if I don't find a good deal soon I'm gonna stop being a cheap ass and just buy it. Add me, folks. NNID = k1ttens.People in the Halo OT are also playing splatoon? I just hit rank C myself!

Yeah, seriously. Did they not make it to Keyes yet? (I know you can glitch your way through it in a couple of minutes. But legitimately it's really hard)
But why play on inverted?? I don't follow. Why you do this?Majority of players don't ever opine. Hardcore, pro and serious players make way more noise than the silent majority. You can't really infer anything from that silence one way or another. But unlike COD, where you can have success with body shots, or getting the jump on a player, Halo for noobs can sometimes feel frustrating - imagine you're a "bk" and you get the drop on someone from here or TeamBeyond, you unload five shots into their back and they STILL turn around and drop you with a couple of rounds to the head from a precision weapon. That's as intended, but you can see how t would cause some folks to go "bullshit!"
Tricky balance to get right, and then that balance has to account for experts, improving skill curves from "newbies" matchmaking content ad the age of the game.
One of the more subtle ways we (and others) address this is by slowly pushing people in Campaign to use all their abilities and increase their general skill and awareness so that they can more easily adapt to the harsh and unforgiving mistress that is MP.
You can also see it in some of the weapon placement in the beta - where even with AR starts, the BR or DMR were close to your base and with almost enough for everyone right off the bat.
My personal belief is that everyone should be forced to play SWAT inverted on Recon to learn both headshot importance and to use the control scheme that god intended for us.
One embarassing measure of skill for me is when I end up as the BK on a team, and the other team has one BK as well, and we end up most-kills of each other.
Keyes isn't that bad on Legendary.
It's fucking Two Betrayals.

Especially in light of the article's actual contents and DocSeuss's general opinions, I'm wondering if he meant that as a description of how it's often perceived, rather than as his actual opinion.
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
Finally figured some stuff out to make progress on my Pit remake in the Source engine:
Obviously still a work in progress (especially texturing-wise), but it's finally getting somewhere.

Yeah, I just run through a lot of Keyes. But Two Betrayals you actually have to kill dudes to get check points and shit. And it can be rough going.Keyes isn't that bad on Legendary.
It's fucking Two Betrayals.
So Co-op is completely broken for ODST
No matter who is hosting for ODST my friends and I just keep getting booted back to the main menu. How did this get past testing?
hey yo how's dis?
i think this is your new avatar
Perfectly fine for me. No lag at all for my friends too.So Co-op is completely broken for ODST

"Halo's Most Hated Enemy"
Out of the three groups of enemies total.
Well done.

Halo’s biggest misstep with the Flood takes place not in The Library, but in Keyes, a level featuring tight corridors with little room to strafe or backpedal. Keyes’ tight corridors makes it far more challenging to put distance between you and the Flood. You’ve got the Covenant to contend with on top of that. Keyes is a level with weird moments of ease punctuated with occasional, boring difficulty spikes.

Cool that he did the Library article he wanted to do.
Still, wasn't a huge fan of the article, which surprised me given that his Silent Cartographer article was pretty good. This one had an interesting way of looking at things, but didn't describe the dance itself in good depth, and how it creates the level's feel.
Also, I have a hard time understanding how anyone who dislikes the original visuals can possibly be a huge Library fan. It's understandable why they bother some players, but the mesmerizing vastness is the icing on the cake.
That's not been my experience. The server magic in Destiny is really next gen stuff.
Makes you wonder what a company like 343 could do if they really wanted to try something bold.

Being honest, I stared at the avatar and raised my eyebrows before I read your post.Just so you don't freak out, my avatar is a unarmoured sanghelli warrior.
In no way, shape or 'form' does it represent any part of the male anatomy that you may or may not be familiar with.

It says 'Fakes Forge' right above the rating pending box.

Could Halo work with a Splatoon-esque paintball mode? Just throw it in action sack alongside Halo ball and Grifball for shits and giggles .
Sure, plenty of shooters had melee, but Halo made melee an integral part of the combat experience. Assault rifles in most shooters are accurate at medium range—Halo’s are ridiculously inaccurate, best for up close and personal engagements. In nearly every fight, Halo pulls you close. Sometimes, you get to punch things. No other shooter has this rhythm—it’s unique to this series (barring Halo 4).

Not my favourite (that place in my heart belongs to 343 Guilty Spark) but The LIbrary is one the best levels. The Library is still my favorite Halo campaign level. Good article.
