lol did you? Well, it still works like 98% of the time. I'd be even more bummed if I paid for it lol
I WILL DEVOUR YOUR SOUL HUMAN
Yeah, Mixcraft is my go-to DAW with a buttload of VST plug-ins. What did you use for your cellos/brass? I noticed a few were just pitch-shifted versions of the original samples (which is a very clever trick, might I add), but the ones in the beginning of the song definitely did not sound like the stems.
Why did Bungie stop making interactive maps? Why hasn't 343i tried to implement a couple of them. I miss terminal. also miss opening the gate for Zanzibar. It really created a different dimension to the maps.
If it gets worse, worth tweeting MarksMan.
Alright I've been busy doing real world things for the past month, and i completely missed out on this murder miners fad. What the hell is it?
Hey all.
I know I'm just a no-name junior who never posts (unless I see a chance to talk about music), but I made a remix for the contest and submitted it.
So for the Halo 4 Remix Contest, sai-kun and I have been collaborating a little bit. We just got done with some stuff today, I'd love to hear what you guys think!
You can listen to the current version of the mix here.
Comments and criticism are welcome so that we can try and get this as refined as possible before getting it submitted.
i have no idea what i am doing for this remix

seriously
besides the need of fixing every 4th bar
i made this for frankie because he likes piano
$1 Halo/Minecraft clone.
The cellos in the beginning were actually a free Kontakt 5 library. A guy on the KVR Audio forums just sampled his own cello and with some help, got a nice legato script for Kontakt. It's free, small, and sounds beautiful and natural with reverb.
I didn't use any other orchestral libraries in this. But when I write my originals , which are mostly orchestral soundtrack style, I use EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Silver, the VSL samples that come with Kontakt, and the light version of Miroslav Philharmonik. All that coupled with various freebies and smaller libraries I've collected.
I'm glad you noticed that I pitch shifted the orchestra near the end. Gotta love a good key change.

Ah, one dollar, that's why it was so popular.
The one way teleporter on relic was genius.Yup, likewise.
Oh, nice! I'll have to look for it. I use EWQLSO Gold, Symphonic Choirs and Ra among a few other Kontakt plugins (like Vintage Organs and Best Service Accordions) as well as Zebra2, which is a wonderful synth plugin even in trial stage. You can use it for as long as you want but after 10 minutes everything sounds messed up because the note progression changes from whatever it was to:
C - E - B - R* - A with R being a random note. Bonus points because there are a lot of synths available for use in it for free around the web.
And yeah, it was subtle, but definitely a nice way to use the samples without being too overdone.
I really enjoyed these.

Yes it was. I loved that and the gates on High Ground and Zanzibar/Last Resort, and how they instantly changed the way the map played. They set up mini objectives to pursue or defend. The one way teleporter on relic was genius.

Dani, how many sleeps???
Yeah it is a ton better now. I did some 2v2 custom games last night.Speaking of Murder Miners, TDM is actually really nice on it now.
Totally forgot about the gate on High Ground. One other thing I remember that is not so interactive as it is dynamic but that bridge in Colossus that would disappear depending on the gametype was really cool.Yes it was. This should be on the remix album. Great job.Hey all.

Here it is!
I'm definitely a composer and not a producer. But I'd appreciate some of you checking it out and maybe giving it some soundcloud lovin' for the contest. I hope y'all like it!
PS: Soundcloud compression makes me sad when listening to the high frequencies =/
PPS: Warning, contains minor wubs.
It was $3. It plays really well and there are a bunch of remade halo maps for it. It is popular because of that more than the price.

Yeah! I hadn't really thought about it much until I played nillapuddin's Forge remake on Reach a few weeks back. It's probably my favorite example. The one way teleporter on relic was genius.
Yeah, that was great. IIRC it was there for Slayer and missing for objectives. Really great detail.
I can only imagine that it was a network thing that caused them to stop making dynamic maps like that. When games got laggy in Halo 2 you'd end up with an invisible train, or a gate that was only open for 3 people in the match, or a Zanzibar bridge that refused to fall over. I'm not sure if that was still an issue in Halo 3, since I don't remember any specific instances of that kind of thing.
I love those elements though. I've always wanted lightbridge switches in a multiplayer map, hopefully we get one down the line.

What?Oh yeah, and I had NO IDEA Longshore had a secret tunnel path in Objective until a few weeks ago, too.
The bridges on Containment were awesome. In the original version of the map there was supposed to be a shield door that you could lower around the objective point. I'll try to find a picture.I like how the buttons could change how the way the map played in an instant.
Containment objective changed the way you assaulted the bases when the bridges went down and when Relic's teleporter was active the defending team had to switch up its defenses.

If you played Neutral Flag it wasn't there. My friends and I used to play Neutral Flag where the flag spawns at the top of the lift and set the starting weapon to snipers. Those games would get crazy.
Damn man, my MLG controller is on the fritz right now. It's like all choppy and shit when I turn. As if the framerate was dropping. Ughhhh
Try removing and replacing the thumbsticks. Or swapping them. That happened to one of mine and that fixed the problem.

I created this gif.

This was really good. I also like what you did in this one.
This along with other interactive elements need to return as it brings life to the maps. Rushing that button to open the gates on High Ground and Zanzibar - soo exciting to defend against for a few mins too! Also has a risk/reward if you're alone in the base and think you might be able to cap a flag or plant a bomb* alone.
*better be a gametype whether in Assault or OB
Self quote. Fyrewulff, you would find this interesting:The bridges on Containment were awesome. In the original version of the map there was supposed to be a shield door that you could lower around the objective point. I'll try to find a picture.
Yeah, it was missing in all objective games. I was just saying that Neutral Flag Snipers was a ton of fun because people would just snipe across the U; grabbing the flag was incredibly difficult.I don't recall playing Neutral Flag on it, didn't know that. I think it was missing for two sided games like CTF so the rest of the map got used, rather than a direct shortcut between bases.
It's been so long since I played on it, though.
Thanks! Appreciate you taking the time to check out an original.
This:What?
This:
I looked it up, and I guess most people call it a bridge. Seems more like a tunnel or a vent suspended in the air to me, but I've never even been inside the thing, so I don't know.
You're kash117? I had no idea! I asked about the To Galaxy (Halo 4 vidoc) Mixcraft files a while back! Small world.
Oh yeah! That thing was awesome but I rarely got to play that map.
Mmmhmm.Yup, likewise.
