So, no bulletin tonight?
I'm looking for some friends to play some halo 4 tonight. Anyone?
well said. i don't like the notion that pistols always have to be weaker than a rifle, either. Why does it really matter. It's not like halo is supposed to be a realistic game or sci-fi shooters in general.
Well we are going to have a No Instant Respawn game here in 15 min anyways. Would be nice for them to put the gametype/settings into their own section though.
Tomorrow morning because of mysterious embargo. So, no bulletin tonight?

We now almost have spectator mode with wraiths under the map, we got audio clips to edit in for montages/top series, Halotracker for ranks, and capture card to render clips.
We are set!
Woah.
You can have self moving vehicles

As I said the DMR destroys maps too much for it to be a spawn weapon. And I'm more for buffing weapons before nerfing them.
To the underlined, I don't understand this mentality. Pistols can range anywhere from a cap gun up to a .50 cal. Who's to say that 500 years in the future, we haven't developed a more powerful pistol. As for the bolded, no. I want it to be a more defensive anti-scope weapon, compared to the DMR being a more offensive anti-scope weapon. And why isn't the BR suitable for pinging snipers? It's the perfect sniper ping tool.
EDIT1: An old version that I've started to update.
EDIT2: It's been a long time since I used that as my avatar.
Even with all the features 343's cut, the effort you/THC and the halo community are putting in just to get this game to work is quite impressive.
NERD!The simple answer is physics my friend, even if you evolve the pistol in the future the rifle has a longer barrel so the same advanced pistol projectile technology applied to a rifle means higher velocity and therefore greater accuracy over higher ranges, regardless.
It's simple physics.
Further futuristic games such as Halo are grounded in technology of today for relevancy and familiarity. The fact Bungie/343 have real snipers, seals and other highly trained personnel advising and providing weapons, cadence, audio, ranges, accuracies etc has me more than happy about the sandboxes they create.
Name one real world pistol that out performs a rifle, there's this hierarchy for a reason.
I disagree the DMR breaks maps, maybe a couple but not as a global rule of thumb. On maps like Complex the DMR is a perfect fit over the DMR. When indoors in hallways a BR vs. DMR is more than a fair game for a fight either way. Other maps like Ragnarok are fine for me, I can traverse the map just the same as I did Valhalla in Halo 3, doesn't matter if I'm with a regular team or a random team getting owned. I still remain basically positive and can move solo through cover to cover or use camo to stealth out of ugly situations before they arise.
If you look at "pro BR players" such as yourself you complained about kill times in Reach being too slow, similar comments in Halo 3, but especially considering sprint with Reach. Now in Halo 4 even with sprint the DMR and the BR are both very capable weapons that kill with a solid balance for players that make mistakes vs. players that use sprint/cover intelligently to their advantage to disengage then re-engage.
I just don't see the issues as much as you guys do, perhaps it's my play style.
I find other factors such as map movement, teamwork, awareness, armour abilities are far more important and impacting to map flows or player kills vs. deaths than the DMR having a 3X scope.
No Instant Spawn has been made.
Is there sprint?!
There is not.
No Instant Spawn has been made.
I know right? How hard is to provide a halo game that appeals to fans of the original halo games and not just some poor attempt at attracting CoD players over to the series? It should be basic math easy to make a good halo game. The games have already been made. The blue prints are already there, but they never get used in favor of "evolving" the game. Why do we have to rely on modders to provide this stuff to us?
-_-
Damn i hate vehicles in halo. They were never an issue until Halo3. Ever since that game, they've just become stupid killing machines that decide the outcome of games. Gauss hog, tank, and banshee should never be in halo multiplayer ever again. Stupid stupid stupid.

Peeps should join Monkey and I. Competitive settings on Lockout.
Agreed. I miss having just a pair of hogs and a ghost.
My favorite aspect of Halo is its balance of infantry vs vehicles. No vehicle can truly dominate against players who seek its destruction, no matter the loadout. That said, I wouldnt mind more balance towards how they're placed in matches.Damn i hate vehicles in halo. They were never an issue until Halo3. I'd almost prefer an escalation. Start off with the light vehicles and spawn the heavy stuff as the game progresses.
I wouldn't want to Aussie up your game quality
Can I ask how does it play and feel?
I enjoy 8v8 games that involve people shooting each other more than "hey let's hop in a vehicle and rack up 30 kills lulz." I did 8v8 lans in Halo:CE all the time of which only 2 maps even had vehicles. I enjoyed ranked halo2 btb and was able to get to about 25 before they removed the rankings. Not sure why all of a sudden it's so hard to just make a game that is centered around the FPS nature of the game and not the 3rd person view of vehicles everywhere dominating. i know people enjoy that part of the game as well, but they could at least have a more serious playlist for BTB lovers.None of which appear in any of the 4vs4 or 5vs5 gametypes.
You're another one of those that is taking anything with BTB or Dominion in it seriously.
Not even bungie had much grasp on anything past 4vs4. It's never going to be balanced.
Vehicles were completely overpowered in halo CE.
Halo 2 had homing rockets, but if you didnt have them vehicles were completely dominating.
Halo 3 introduced the plasma EMP and splazer which weakened the vehicles again.
Fuck Reach multiplayer.
Halo 4 vehicles are the weakest they've ever been given spawning options.
I miss parts of it.I miss Halo 2.

I remember in Reach when everyone was all like "give everyone sprint." Now everyone want's it gone.
I played it earlier today. No sprint feels great. If you bump the damage up to make the BR a 4shot it still breaks the sandbox. Which is disappointing; also even if you bump the movement speed up it still isn't as crisp as Halo CE or 2.
Just my 2 cents.
I'm guessing you don't have that gametype on your file share right? No Sprint+4 HSK BR+No instant Spawn = amazing

I need sprint. Never really enjoyed Halo multiplayer until I could, and once I could, I could never go back. Sometimes you really need to get the fuck out of dodge or doubletime it back to your team. Feels balanced to me and provides that oomph the game has always lacked. No Sprint+4 HSK BR+No instant Spawn = amazing
Next you need to add in the x's and y'all have some serious work to do for a classic CTF.
Peeps should join Monkey and I. Competitive settings on Lockout.
-- If you think this was/is actually true I don't know what to tell you. No Halo game was even laughably approaching any sort of military verisimilitude. Reach should have proved that beyond any doubt.Further futuristic games such as Halo are grounded in technology of today for relevancy and familiarity. Not everyone. I didn't like any abilities being in Reach. The jetpack was fun to use, but I thought it had a negative impact on the game just like all the other abilities.I remember in Reach when everyone was all like "give everyone sprint." Now everyone want's it gone.

Do you mind if I join your game so I could get it in my recent game thingy?Nope XD
Are you still on? I HAVE to try this. GTs?
Same as my username. We're on Guardian right now.
Disabled? I doubt it was ever put in there. The weird part is that functionality sort of exists already with the Nemesis specialisation. It's just in reverse
Surely they just disabled the netcode for "on my X" but did not remove the functionality completely?
It seems the modders will patch the game first.

You don't always "put yourself" into a bad position, and while I don't want to use the word punished, you are prevented from firing and have to recover afterwards back to an aiming posture. You sacrifice the ability to fire for mobility, so yeah, I think the balance is just right. So not being punished for putting yourself in a horrible position is balanced? That makes no sense.
