I have High Hopes & Expectations for the Halo Live Action Tv Series.

Question to Frankles: Will the script to the new project Tv series be using the same Movie script that has been within the Halo Vault under 343's surveillance?

Eh, no backwards compatibility, having to buy the game to play it on another account? The Xbox One better be cheap or have something incredible up its sleeves for me to get it.

I do not see any point to buy a console at launch. I don't expect the launch title to be incredible interesting. (Except Microsoft is announcing a Jump'n'Run Banjo)

I love Halo. So I will get a Xbox One at some point. I expect when Destiny comes out in 2014, but friends will play a big role in the decision. At the moment I disliking a lot of things about the Xbox One. Mainly the fact that I can't borrow a game from a friend anymore.

You are going to buy a Xbox One on the first day because of H2A.

The Xbox Original to the Xbox 360 wasn't a big change at all, other then the graphics and social menus now available.

but all you guys seem to hate the Xbox One, when it has some pretty nice changes coming along with it, definitely more then the original to the 360.

It's mostly the anti used games and game trading stuff, I think.

I want to believe it to be true so bad

Something I hadn't considered, but if the overlaid entertainment guide is really that responsive than I would never have to use my crappy slow cable guide again. Silly little thing, but that could be really awesome. Yes TV is ridiculously easy to watch right now, but if they have really figured out a way to consolidate all of those various services into a responsive seamless experience, that is the kind of thing that people don't even consider important but then they never want to be without it. I had the same feeling when I first got a harmony remote, and my heart is still broken from the day it died on me.

serial keys always online no used games whatever doesn't bother me whatsoever but I guess I can see why some people would get screwed by it

Have they said anything about Kinect being mandatory or not? I really don't want to get one, since I'll never use it anyway. It'll just be extra junk I'll have to pay for.

EDIT: Holy crap, Spielberg's directing a Halo TV series?

Anti-used games
Serial keys
Internet connection for activation
Focus on Kinect
Kinect must be plugged-in
Focus on non-gaming stuff
Weaker hardware than PS4, wasn't expecting better but nearly matching would've been fine
Lackluster presentation
No game reveals (PS4 game reveals weren't very interesting but at least it had something showing of the capabilities)
Multiplayer still requiring sub, presumably (don't give a shit about dedicated servers or other "services")
...
Eh, i'm sure there was something else.
Speaking for myself only of course, tough i reckon there are others who feel the same.

EDIT i don't have anything against on non-gaming stuff, if that stuff didn't require Live Gold, and worked in Finland, and if the focus wasn't on it at the expense of the gamers.

This is how I feel.

I buy my games used. I have reliable Internet. I don't let people borrow my games and I don't rent. Xbox One doesn't affect me negatively. Aside from Kinect being always required, which is fine, I'm not scared of being spied on, everything is fine. I'm sure always on Kinect will be put to good use, and I want to play me my Halo 2 Anniversary (and Halo 5 if 343 makes it a true Halo game) and my Forza Motorsports 5.

I'm buying my Xbox One, Day one.

It is part of the system and a key component to the control of the interface and even powering on the device.

Q: Why require Kinect with every Xbox One?
A: The all new Kinect is now an essential and integrated part of the platform. By having it as a consistent part of every Xbox One, game and entertainment creators can build experiences that assume the availability of voice, gesture and natural sensing, leading to unrivaled ease of use, premium experiences and interactivity for you.

It's being packaged with every box.

The reasoning is somewhat sound. You look at how widely used voice chat is used in 360 games and it's mostly because everyone playing has a headset. Or if you simply take the controller. Every dev can make a game that uses the pressure sensitivity of the triggers if they want because they know anyone playing on the 360 will have a controller with triggers.

What this means for Kinect (hopefully) is that devs will not see it as a niche set of hardware. Devs who might have been hesitant to make a game to support it because of the inherent lower userbase could know that, hey, if you make a game based around voice commands, the same amount of people can play it than with any other input.

It's going to be weird but apparently it has been engineered to work in smaller spaces which certainly alleviates my issues with it.

Crap.

If the Xbox One doesn't have any amazing exclusives, I might consider switching to PS4. Unless it's really cheap, but I doubt it.

We knew the focus of games would be left for E3 in less than 20 days from now. This was a mass market, TV spot and had content to fit that demographic.

In the wired article it describes one of the hardware guys that is 6'4" being fully recognized at 3 feet away from the kinect with room to raise his arms above his head. Hopefully that ends up being accurate.

With the ability to measure your pulse now, next Halo will feature flinch or weapon stability level based on how calm you are.

Cool stuff or not, it's been a real poor reveal that's just resulted in tons of early blowback rather than this being a positive moment.
I think they miscalculated in the who the audience was and have just set the people who watched it against them (see the fanboy bait things and general sentiment swing against them, things like http://uk.gamespot.com/twitter-battle/xbox-vs-ps4/).

10am on a Tuesday does not reach the COD/Sports joe that they played to with those games and those features. The people watching this were the same people watching the longer and hardcore focused PS4 reveal.

I expected at least something (that isn't sports games or COD).
OK, we got... sort of this Quantum thing... didn't actually get what kind of game it is...

Didn't have hype for this reveal, and this left me with negative expectations for E3.
OK, perhaps i'm not in the demographic but...

EDIT for comparison, never been PS fan, didn't have any hype for PS4 announcement, didn't care for the games revelaed (not counting Destiny) but at least the device was solid, and the extras interesting, and design philosphy was good.

There is no reason the 360 shouldn't be capable of this.

Oh man I really hope they redeem themselves at E3

I think the 360 friendlist wasn't upgraded to keep the loading time relatively "fast".
Up it to 1000 and it gets really slow.

As for E3... No hope, i reckon. Kinect shovelware incoming. EDIT the fact the device requires and comes with Kinect allows them to "integrate" Kinect with all the damn games (no, they might not do it).

Halo is trash now, I don't live in the US and fees out the ass. Holy shit, who outside the US is going to buy this garbage?

Or in the US for that...

Kind of how I feel, there are a lot of bullshit anti-consumer features, but they won't really impact me personally.

I'll be there day 1.

The spawning system needs to be addressed before maps like Onyx make it in. Design wise, it's a great map. When it comes to the game deciding me where to spawn, I don't like it spawning me in an open area when the other team has top mid. Also, I like it when it spawns all of the pieces of the map.
