Personally i'm done with Halo (games, EU is another matter*) because of Xbox/Microsoft, going to miss it.
*Still haven't found Silentium here. Annoying. Would like to read it.

I think it's just because throughout the launch hype 343 would say "343 consists of nothing BUT Halo Fans", yet Halo 4 turned out to be a game that Halo fans hate.

"Hardcore" Halo fans don't seem to be liking it. But then they don't seem to be liking anything but Halo CE and 2.

Yeah, I don't want it to be with animosity. I respect the people and their talents and wish them the best of luck in finding their new audience. The decisions being made are clearly not meant to appeal to me and people like me. PS4, Bungie, and happiness ahead, I hope.

Frankie said in another thread that they tried to hire a few people that hated Halo (not kidding) to bring fresh views into the mix as if you need to pay people who hate your work to help you on your next project. I'm sure if they're hiring people who hate Halo, they're also hiring people who don't care or are indifferent to the franchise and likely do not have a lot of experience actually playing it.

Not joking at all. As soon as she got on stage I got the feeling that she will announce something that is completely not related to a Halo game will whore out the franchise.
In fact that is the whole vibe I'm getting from 343. Depart as much as possible from we love a out Halo and broaden the franchise. The female brain is stronger in marketing field according to researches I read and that's why I'm uncomfortable with a woman been on top of 343. It feels like her job is to broaden everything about the franchise Halo. I don't like that.
I feel that she resembles casualising Halo.

There's nothing that hype-worthy about that xbox reveal because there's not much that's truly fresh, new and unexpected. It's essentially an amalgamation of features and mediums found elsewhere. If I want to watch a TV show or movie I'll download it on a laptop. Music, laptop. Skype, laptop. Surfing web, laptop. Kinect... There's already Kinect on the 360. EA sports games come every year, rain or shine, nothing new. Same as COD (now with a dog, woof).
Stuff I am positive about:
1) Prospect of dedi's for every game. Sounds far fetched but if there are 300,000 servers then Halo, being the premier exclusive franchise for MS, has no excuse not to have them at least.
2) Built in recording software. Hopefully that evolves over time into full on streaming capabilities.
3) The pad. No unneccesary risks taken here, looks good. Hoping there's a wired one available, can't stand the wireless 360 one.
4) In session group skype. Could be a bandwidth hog and who knows how large a group it can handle but the potential for Halo sessions/watching a football game seems really cool.
Not being able to independently buy/sell games seems ridiculous though. If you buy a car, it's your property to use and sell as you see fit. Similarly, houses do not have a single use activation code. It's a paradigm shift they're attempting, whereby the perception changes from owning the game to purchasing an entry wristband to ride a particular attraction in the MS themepark.
