Halo |OT8| A Salt on the Control Room

In practice, yes. But doesn't mean it is the same as the standard pass...
Now, logically it will be the same one but i'm not convinced logic runs business.

I think when it says access to the first three map packs they give you a code for the season pass
It's definitely the same pass:
War Games Map Pack Access can be purchased separately for 2000 MSP. Available from launch, it's a DLC Pass that includes access to nine competitive multiplayer maps (three future War Games map packs, each including three maps).

Offering a 15 per cent saving compared to purchasing each of the add-ons individually, the pack also includes the in-game exclusive items; the Spartan-IV “Scanner” and “Strider” helmets, and the “Falcon” in-game emblem.
Why would they use the word "separately" if it is not include with a other edition?

I really did not mind a zoojoo, If he slowed down his posting and posted only halo stuff and provided valuable discussion material it would not of been so bad. The guys sense of humour obviously translated badly to words but I'd say he meant well and he just wanted to fit in and be liked. It must be hard for some outsiders to come into a new group like this. I practically begged Ryan to join us in here via PM's because I knew he liked halo. Iv also got a buddy who is pretty weary of starting to post because like he said "The majority of the conversations feel like personal discussions and its difficult to find an in with us lot"

I know it's not intentional and we are more than happy for "good" new members to join the group but from the other side of the fence HaloGAF is a pretty tight nit community and we can give the appearance of being "Closed Off"

Just some food for thought.

How in the hell do you make HBO's forum readable? I feel like I'm in 1998 when I click on that forum.

It's one of the biggest reasons I do not visit HBO, I have barely any idea what is going on. Curious as to if any reason exists why HBO has not adopted and "real" forum. I know a lot of the members like the layout.

I posted this like a year or two ago and blew minds. Welcome to HBO 1998!

It is HBO's way to scare new user.

Pretty much what Hyper says. Wu is a one-man army, and the forums work, so unless someone comes to him with a complete solution that won't cause problems I'm pretty sure he'll keep what he's got going.

I was originally of the mind I'd hate the old skool layout, but aside from setting prefs I get the hang of it pretty quickly.

The definite advantage over GAF is you can quickly look and see what's new. In terms of finding out new info that's a big help.

Plenty of free forum templates exist and a few are very inexpensive to buy the usage rights for. Even besides that im sure that their is at least a few members of the HBO community who could knock up a decent forum in a short period of time.

I'm wondering if its a bandwidth problem or something similar.

Lol... "We like it the way it is" can't be an option?

I'm choosing to ignore that and hope it was wrong. :-\

Yeah, I feel like doing this also, but I also feel like I am setting myself up for major disappointment. It would be so strange if we did not get any promethean/forerunner vehicles.

We better at least get the Chopper back. I feel like it is the BR of vehicles.
1. Bullseye Armor
2. Oceanic Armor
3. Red Camo Armor
4. Raptor Armor
5. Web Armor
6. Console Armor
7. LE armor
8. LE avataro prop
9. Wargames pass that comes with LE
10. Console avatar pet
11. Console avatar suit
12. Console avatar cyro tube
13. Wargames pass (purchasable)
14. Wargames Map Pack #1
15. Wargames Map Pack #2
16. Wargames Map Pack #3

Ah, that would make sense.

Speaking of DLC (and sorry if late to this discussion), but I noticed that there are different helmets available to those who purchase the "Season Pass"...

Does this mean those of us who are purchasing the LE (and the console for that matter) won't get access to these helmets?

I have been wondering this also, and while one would assume LE owners would get that DLC also, who knows at this point..

Don't know if this contains new info:

Hopefully this is new video:

That better mean an actual new video...But somehow Im not too confident about it. Maybe he just saved one from Comic Con or something?

What is a zoojoo? On HBO apparently. Wu, he's all yours.

I doubt Wu will put up with his shit.
How so?

New maps out of the box would be smart for sure. Ill take a remake in DLC.

I'll let you figure it out.

The perma list is:

EazyB/Lake Minnetonka
Starwolf
XxOverkillVR
MTWomg
juryben
a zoojoo
+anyone else that was banned in the Halo 3 thread days that was before I lurked

Huh, didn't know starwolf got perma, what did he do? I was wondering where he was, lol.

Are you seriously making a video? What do you got so far?

So far? Just Wu's amazing cutscene library, a metric fuckton of music, sony vegas, everyone (save Slightly Live's) avatars that I need for this trailer, etc. This is just a teaser, I have no idea when I'll be able to make the full video.

Maybe his old avatar, it was pretty awesome.

What was it? And if it's what Slightly Live wants to use, can you link it?

Where has Wu been? Looking forward to saying hello again at PAX. Waited in line with him, eazyb and Devin and the gang on 2010.

Need to get the PAX stuff solidified. Wonder what Frank and David's schedules are. Need to fit drinks in sometime. :p (Soda for you younger guys, I guess?)

And I have been banned twice the past year and a half, not sure if you're gonna find any gaf regular who hasn't been banned at least once the last few years, even Ghaleon got banned a while ago lol

Sure it can. Like it said iv seen stuff before from members saying they like how it currently is. Just from an accessibility stand point it's not the gold standard.
What it has, over every single vBulletin-style forum I've ever looked at (and i've looked at a LOT), is a straightforward, easy-to-understand threading system, and a default layout that uses it. For a small community like ours, this makes it far, far easier to keep conversations relevant to all readers. (If there's something you don't care about, you can ignore the entire thread - and you can skip subthreads that go in directions you're not interested. On GAF, and any other standard flat-style board, this is not feasible. I've used vBulletin - hell, I've set it up for clients - and while it HAS a threaded mode, it's so underused (and badly implemented) it might as well not have one.

It fits the community. Nothing better has presented itself (money's not really an issue, but functionality is), so we stick with it. It wasn't DESIGNED as a barrier to entry - but it acts as one, to some degree; most people who can't be bothered to figure out how it works probably wouldn't have that much to add to the conversation anyway. ;)

That's pretty much the long and short of it.

Someone suggested this in the last OT, but we should have a HaloGAF contact sharing thingy.
Do you mean a secret message/dance, so we can recognize each other as gaffers?

I thought Josh Holmes said pretty directly at the SDCC panel that there is going to be one remake.
He said there is a possibility but David reminded the crowd they are trying something new. And who are these guys who are wishing a remake? It does not work with 4's gameplay.

Wait, how?

Go to "Set Preferences" and change the List Style to "Compressed List", your Display Style to "Guestbook", and your Sort Order to "UBB Order". It even has a description at the bottom for what settings to use to be the most like the forum styles you are probably most comfortable with already.

What about what Reddit uses? or is that their proprietary system?
