I think it's that all the new guys on since monday are pretty bad players. On Monday (before it went public) I was playing arena and got destroyed, only had around 1350. The last two days I've been playing 20 kill games and averaging out at 1650. Now, some of this has to do with the fact that I'm learning the pistol (it's a fucking beast!!), but mostly it's because my opponents have been useless. Still, I hope I get Onyx, just this once (can't check yet, I'm at work).

Fuck randoms in chat. Fuck stupid people. Fuck people who vote for TS on SB over TSP on PH.

Playing 2v4 is a fucking chore, yet that's what I keep getting. Two shitty, mute, asshole teammates. They shoot/melee/grenade me. They rush over and over and over. They are fucking blind. I'm on Red 4 with the Snipe, I have to ask my teammate a hundred fucking times for him to pick up the Sword that's in the Red 3-4 Ramp, so that I don't get fucked by it. The guy only has a DMR ffs. And he doesn't pick it up, and goes to Gold 2 for some weird reason. Thirty seconds later while I'm trying to cover his ass, I get Sworded in the ass. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Reach is great when you're playing with friends, but when none are on.. such a fucking chore!

I also imagine that by the end of the week many of the 'Onyx' players, myself included, will probably drop down a division because of the influx of better players who are getting 1650+ ratings consistently but haven't grabbed three Daily Ratings yet, but I'll gladly take it while I have it.

QFT. 219 games for me since last Thursday. Not only am I ready for a new map, but I am also ready for some vehicle action.

So I saw that someone posted on here that Bungie went with 6 vs. 6 for Invasion because that was the sweet spot. My question is what happens to 8 vs. 8 big team battle when Reach launches? I mean Invasion sounds awesome and everything but what about classic 8 vs. 8 multiflag games? Does Invasion mode make the normal BTB we are used to obsolete? I know we can do what we want with customs, just wondering if launch playlists will include both Invasion and BTB. I'm still concerned as to how Bungie is going to launch a game with so many different types of maps needed. (Invasion, normal MP, Firefight, Big team battle)

Same here, are you using Chrome?

I'm using Chrome on Ubuntu and figured it was some sort of compatibility error, which doesn't make sense as it's just Flash.

I have a star with a 5, ugh... what's my real division? Another thing that went wrong cause I sure as hell am no Roger Clemens.

I hope at least Invasion launches smoothly tomorrow, very hyped for that.

Yes please. I got so many medals in the game with the grenade launcher. It's not an amazing video but I want to watch it for sentimental reasons

I would like to know how many players can actually become Onyx, is it 1000 players only? or 10000? Quite a lot of onyx people it seems.

Of course when retail hits there will be 10 times the player pool to filter.

Your profile says onyx (5 star) so yeah.

So is 1650 or thereabouts the benchmark? I've only played Arena one night so far. Been too damn busy to play. :(

1650 seems to be pretty good when playing 4v4 Arena. When you're playing with good people it's hard to individually have a huge score because there aren't enough variables to go around (and you're playing good 4s once you and your teammates have high averages).

Random suggestion: instead of starting with two frags, start with one frag and one plasma. Then eliminate any grenade pick-ups on the map; additional ones would be picked up from fallen players.
 
I played my first three Arena matches last night and went 1512, 1487, and 1041. Everyone on my team quit in the last one, so it was 1v4 until I bailed out. I think it's going to be Brotherhood of Steel for me. :lol

The game is starting to click a little bit for me, and last night I went positive on the evening for the first time. Feels good, man. I think I'm starting to understand the game a bit better, and the current population (now that everyone w/ ODST is in) seems a little less skilled than in the F&F period.

Does anyone know if there will be restrictions on Arena matchmaking based on your division? e.g. If I'm Steel and my friends are Gold, can we still go into matchmaking together? I wasn't sure if the Divisions were just a label or if that also determines who you'll match against.

I just played some covie slayer and shit is intense like hell, loved every second of it and wished the elites had a lot more abilities (camo is a given).

Wish the entire game was just elites, it's so damn awesome!

Right now things are screwy (me being Onyx is proof), but normally I'm assuming you need an high rating like that plus a high trueskill level (hidden), and you probably have to play a huge amount of games each season to be able to keep up.

I think that's about right. I think I'm high 1500s/low 1600s and I'm Gold (thanks for checking guys :lol).
