Why can't I WORT WORT WORT like I could Halo 3? Dodging grenades and then sticking a dude that is coming up the elevator shaft in Power House = soawesome.jpg
I miss playing an elite all the time.
Edit: Though the Elite's mandibles look kinda freaky. Out of place with the Halo 2/3 Elite models. :lol

I never thought it made much sense to have two grenade types, with different uses, but not include both at start. And while we talk about grenade spam being a problem, it's really frags and their attributes; plasmas are much easier to avoid and as such are not as much of a problem. One of each would limit the grenade spam issues considerably. And I'd say a solid 90% of the grenades I pick up are from dead players, not from placement on the map, so that's a marginal change at best. It would refine, not gut, the grenades available to players, as you suggest.bobs99 ... said:I dislike that idea, it would give the people who die a lot and spawn an advantage, plus sometimes its not possible to get to your opponents dead body or they may have used theyre nades already, nades add a whole tactical range of options and I think they should be on the map. I think they just need to be toned down, they should behave more like Halo 3 nades which can kill a opponent which you have already weakened or which can be used to put an enemy to 1 shot.
Is it me, or does a long assassination instantly transfer skulls to you as opposed to spraying them everywhere?Dr. Zoidberg said:So I'm playing headhunter last night and I'm way behind. I only have two skulls on the scoreboard and I'm carrying 1. Out of nowhere I melee a guy and now I have 10 skulls. I run toward the goal and hear "Skullamanjaro! Game Over!" I was like "What the?" The scoreboard said I had 25 skulls. The math just didn't add up. The other guys were cussing me in the post-game and I thought it was a glitch.
I had absolutely no idea that scoring with 10 skulls was an instant win. I'll have to change my tactics on that mode from now on.

I'm also feeling the after effects of being weened off Cod's ridiculous auto-aim.divisionbyzorro said:That said, looking at everybody else's stats makes me realize that I still don't have the hang of this game. I'm clearly playing too conservatively. And it doesn't help that my aim sucks in this game! I can't headshot for shit.

Yeah I was on the opposite side of that coin in the only Headhunter game I've played. I had 17 skulls and the closest guy had like 2. So I was feeling pretty good about myself, and then I hear "Skullamanjaro!"....Dr. Zoidberg said:So I'm playing headhunter last night and I'm way behind. Whats the 5 mean?
Grenades on the map are absolutely vital when you're up against a team that has an area locked down with power weapons. I'm not totally against starting with 1 of each grenade though, I love Plasma grenades so the more the merrier.GhaleonEB said:I never thought it made much sense to have two grenade types, with different uses, but not include both at start. Maybe it's the maps and how you're fighting in tight spaces most of the time, especially Swordbase. Maybe there's some other new characteristic that I just can't put my finger on.
Due to being stood over the opponent, yeah you basicly grab the spray once he dies, I think it's a fair trade for using an assassination.Willeth said:Is it me, or does a long assassination instantly transfer skulls to you as opposed to spraying them everywhere?

No, they are indeed too strong, at least for the new movement speed and jump height. They need to do less damage, at least when they land far from you. A couple of tickles on my shield from an AR (not even getting it down to 85%), and a grenade like 10 feet away seems like an unfair way to die every time.Tashi0106 said:When I think about it, I'm not sure that the grenades are too strong. I think that's the key. In previous Halo games, when a grenade is tossed at my feet I jump away from it, and avoid a fair chunk of the damage. That's not effective here, because of the heavier movement (taking longer to shift directions), slower speed, lower jump and greater grenade damage in the outer rim of the blast area. So while they may technically not be stronger - I suspect they're very close to Halo 3's overall - we're taking the full brunt of the damage much more often.Letters said:No, they are indeed too strong, at least for the new movement speed and jump height. If the grenades and melee don't get adjusted because people just start putting up with them the way they are, I'm gonna be a sad panda come release.
DeadFalling said:Wow. That means I earned Onyx. Geez... These divisions are a little too easy to achieve imo :lol
I've done absolutely HORRIBLE in Reach compared to Halo 2 or 3. Like, I would get 2x the kills in Halo 2 or 3 that I do in Reach. Shit sucks.

Shake Appeal said:What those players don't realize is that it's better to go 19-18 than to go 9-3.
I meant solely in terms of Arena Ratings. A death hurts your rating, but only by a third as much as a kill or assist helps it. Getting more kills and assists is far more important than having a great spread, up to a point.op_ivy said:how so?
a 9-3 helps your team with nine kills and helps the opposing team with only 3. thats better then helping your team more but helping the enemies nearly as much, as in your 19-18 example.
i'm all for bungie stressing the importance of assists in their formula (though = to a kill may be a bit much), but deaths SHOULD be punished, and a higher K/D ratio should be important.
So right now I'm in the top 5% of players who qualified for a division over the past three/four days? That's frankly staggering to me.Shishka said:I don't think so. Onyx is the top 5% of division rated players.
