How would displaying the updated daily average - which you could calculate on your own if you wanted and is taken into account in the divisioning anyway - lead to boosting? It would just be a more accurate reflection of what's being taken into account, and anything you could do to boost to Onyx you could do with it only displaying your top three.

Just that alone? There's also the high score mechanic to it. Keep playing, don't just stop and be fearful of screwing up the rating.

I'm in Arena with a friend and we get paired with two guys who apparently don't understand Reach well, they rush, don't know how to block the sword, how to use the headshot weapons, what the callouts are, what strats to use, etc etc. BUT they have mikes! and so, all while teaching them the callouts and strats, we come back and win, 50-46. http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=5892085&player=SAE Magni

I guess, but I'm definitely of the opinion it's just a confusing mess of a way to display it. It conveys the idea that only your top three matter, which is just plain incorrect. The high score argument I can see, but I still think it'd be better to start displaying the entire day's average after you hit the third game.

Disagree, I mean how unbalanced can it be? Both sides get plenty of vehicles, and it's always going to be harder to attack than defend.
