Maybe they are trying to keep the IPs seperate now they're independent? Who knows.

It could be in the final game still you never know.
 
I like Swordbase, as long as I'm playing with a group who knows it.
It is confusing at first, I certainly agree. It has grown on me though. I Would like a few more plasma grenades on the map though.

If you look close enough at the top right of the picture, there is a third Spartan with a rocket aiming at me. Realising I can't take a hit, I Armour Lock down a split second before the rocket hits me. The Armour Lock deflects the rocket explosion into the enemy Spartan who you can see clearly on the right side of the picture, and he flies into the air.

I saw a similar thing in a GIF yesterday but the rocket travelled all the way back to the guy on the jetpack who fired the rocket in the first place

I hope it makes it...was pretty soul crushing to not have it there...kind of started me off on the wrong foot...like going to a crab shack to have them tell you they ran out of crabs.
 
So I think I played 43 games today? I was doing a ton of arena and wondering why I wasn't getting the grab bag matches. Shows how much I know about Halo MP. :lol

Anyway as someone who has never paid for XBL gold (I live off occasional free 48h codes) and the only competitive FPS I play being TF2 I think I did pretty well. :D

Was fun for a while then I just started getting upset at FFA. Too many close games to count.

*Since I have no idea how XBL works how do I join up with GAF people? Some tag thing?

Halo Reach needs to be more like Halo 3. Halo reach is more for the kids who just play it for fun. Halo 3 is the Pro game. Bungie needs to change Reach generaly that it suts the halo 3 pro fans more. Thay did a insane job in Halo 3 mad they can do it again with Reach.

Great stuff. Like Diablohead said, this sounds something that needs to be rendered. I've never timed my lock at the correct time for something like that to happen. Every time I successfully block a rocket, it seems to detonate.
 
well, made it home safe last night at 1pm, and got up at 6AM to start playing before work. It took about an hour and a half to really start feeling it, but when this game clicks, it clicks HARD. I love the feel of the gunplay, and I LOVE the tension of waiting for my aim to calm down. I was playing swat today, and I run into three guys.

BAM BAM. two down.

The third and I start dancing, after I miss the first shot, I start strafing like mad, as does he. He is just shooting like wild at me. Every instinct screaming "SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT." But instead I take a breath, I count a beat, and light his ass up. This game is at it's best when it pits your animal halo instincts up against your brain. That tension just feels so right.
 
Haha! All the guns are great, this is a 1st for an FPS. And what Halo does above others is thier alien weapons are just as good as the humans. New alien DMR is incredible.

Im blown away at the level of polish, balance and potential. Sooooo many ways to approach any situation. Combined with some really neat touches like camo ambiance, the sound grenades make when you throw them, the way they swirl in the air with the trail, the amount of particles being thrown around. All comes together for highly wonderful gunplay. Best gunplay yet.

Pistol FTW!

I havent played since really early morning yesterday. I havent played at all since they opened the floodgates to everyone who has ODST, is the competition easier now?

I see, i would assume that the better players will go to Arena and grab bag would have some of the newer players and chances are there are more low skill people to play aggainst

Feels like it to me and that was just on Arena matches, will try grab bag in a bit so I can feed my pistol more heads.

Half the threads are "Halo is CoD Now" which doesn't make sense at all. I'll just stick to GAF for discussions that make more sense. :lol

I probably put in about 200+ hours into halo 3 mp. I'm not saying there isn't differences at all. There are many differences that change the way you play halo. It's probably just me and my gaming tastes changing.

I just didn't get that wow factor like I did wth halo 2 , halo 3, modern warfare 1, TF 2, bfbc2 where I couldn't get those games out of my mind.

Reach to me is alot like when modern warfare 2 came out. I was so stoked for it and when I got it I dove in played hard for about 8 hours, put it down and was like meh that was ok.

Like I said it's probably me. I'm wrapped up in bfbc2 on the pc and the 360. Maybe that's just the type of multiplayer game that is right in my wheelhouse at this point in my life
 
has anyone noticed an issue with recent screenshots? it seems like if i take 2 shots back to back only 1 gets uploaded to BNET.

is that by design or a bug?

I had this epiphany last night. I had played all weekend and nothing had really clicked with me. I was starting to get really frustrated even through a few games last night, then it was like a magical switch went off. I ended up with a 1545 in arena, which made me quite happy considering that high level of ass I was playing at during F&F.

There are still some slight balance issues here and there, but for the most part this game fucking rocks.

If that guy wasn't running towards me, I have a feeling the rocket would have continued back to the guy firing it.
 
Just played a little bit of the beta and wow do the graphics look like butt. A little underwhelmed but never was a halo fan. Glad to see you guys liking it.
 
1690 (which means absolutely nothing to me) - apparently a perfection isn't good enough to crack 1700.

Gee, Mr. B Nat, how do you do it? You abandoned Halo two weeks after Halo 3 came out. You haven't touched a halo game in years. Stick with the team, know the overpowered power weapon locations, and be the opportunist (or else you will be the one being opportun-i-tized) and learn how to chuck nades. There, you mastered this stupid game in a weekend.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised most people here like this game, considering most people here loved h3 when it first came out (and still do). I guess my mind has been boggled for years now, it's just past confusion resurfacing.
 
Okay, putting aside the whole double kills are stupid thing, why the fuck does it mock me with announcer going "Close Call!" every fucking time! IT'S NOT A CLOSE CALL. I'M FUCKING DEAD. STOP SAYING THAT.

If you have to play the previous game a lot to get the "differences" then the changes aren't drastic at all It's your muscle memory that's drastic.

Tweaks are just that - tweaks. Most of the core changes (if there are any) in halo reach could have been patched into your previous game that you played too much of.

The abilities are the major change here and they're a right step in the right direction, but it's a shaky step that should have been a huge leap. It's like Bungie wasn't used to making actual changes (and not tweaks) to their game and didn't know how to just jump in head first. It's like if COD4 came out and allowed you to have 1 perk and a couple of weapon choices. Or if L4D didn't have a versus mode. Yeah, ok, not a bad start but why didn't you just go all out? Why don't you take your idea to its conclusion? Cause right now, the abilities are mostly 1 trick ponies and rather shallow. And more importantly, why are the fans so impressed with something so half-implemented?
 
I'm considering this beta "basic training" for the full game release. After totally abandoning the AR and taking time to learn pistol/ranged single-shot weapons, I am straight up wrecking fools.
Compared to day one with this, mind you. I still suck (1560) :lol

It's like Halo 3 was a boxer, where you rush in, pummel your opponent with bullets before delivering a knockout blow, then ducking back, hoping to recover. Halo Reach is a sexy, sexy spy movie, all strategy and setup before going in for the kill.

The more i play this, the more I love it.
 
I'm liking the 1 grenade starts much more with the Arena playlists. The damn thing's a power weapon now, yet they're still all over the maps at a very quick respawn rate. It's really my only lasting gripe after 100+ games. I finally started to get in a rhythm with the pistol and DMR last night, so now I have the incredibly arduous task of getting my K/D ratio to a semi-respectable level. Seems like only two of my Arena games from last night registered, yet all of the Grab Bag games I played later are up. Boo.

Stupid LOST is going to get in my way of the beta tonight. Boo x2

Stupid Mother's Day is going to get in my way of Invasion this weekend. Thanks, mom.
 
I have asked this like two times already but haven't got an answer, sorry: if you have the F&F beta, should you download the ODST one instead?
Any differences? is your character still there, in the save?
