I've been thinking on this assassination animation thing, some, so now you all get to get subjected to it.
1. If animations are just slower, cooler looking instant kills, that sucks.
2. If we lose regular assassinations, that also sucks.
3. In multiplayer it's extra problematic, because you now have to deal with animation and interruption (see GoW chainsaw fights.)
So I propose this, we need a tangible reward for assassinations. My thought is this, as you assisnate, you charge your shields off the other players armor, up to a 2x overshield.
So now if you start assassinating someone, and all their teamates start pumping you full of lead, you can spring board off being awesome, into some killing. Similarly, this solves the animation rule, as it follows the logic of OS (short term invincibility while it's charging, unless you get meleed in the back or assassinated yourself.) So you know have a choice in your stealthy kill action. Do I risk it to go for the big flash and extra shields, or do I just clock the guy in the head and move on.

Embargo lifted now that i got the map into Red vs. Blue's playdate. Game was a blast. The map will also be in Bungie Favorites next week.

Dig deeper. Weapons tend to meld together into one when placed on Weapon Holders. There are 4 SMG's on that Weapon Holder, and 4 Spikers on the other. Add 2 each of the PR and Magnum and there is no shortage of dual-wield combos.DiabolicalBagel said:

Why not? You're going into team games alone, and getting belligerent when teammates quit. The core of Halo's team based multiplayer is that it is based around a team. This isn't like Modern Warfare, where you wouldn't even notice when some person leaves or enters because it doesn't affect the team. If you want a team, find a team to back you up. Otherwise, you have no right to complain. People can't be counted on, and Bungie can't change human nature.Gui_PT said:

The released Reach screens have fantastic assets, but something looks a little off. That seems to be the majority opinion, anyway.
(This is not the same thing as the "Make Diablo 3 darker!!!!" complaint.) With a few slight changes to the brightness/contrast of the pictures, you can make the game look significantly better. The lighting becomes more apparent, the aliasing increases, and the models stand out vibrantly, just like shiny armor should, etc.
Would this be too difficult to do inside the game itself?
At any rate, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to change TV settings to make the game look like this when it releases. Check them out:

Bungie did not make this game assuming every time I get in a team-based game, I have a full team of my own.

In all reality, being left by yourself, as I just was, is all bad luck. There really is no way to address the problem on Bungie's side and have it fair. I've had to quit unexpectedly before, so I know it happens. The only real fix is a party.

I don't think that you should only be allowed to play a team game if you have your own team, but you can't just say "turn the suck down" and leave it at that. I personally don't think that quitting is a huge problem; I very rarely lose my team when I go in as a random. But if you think it is a problem, whinging does no good. Present a possible solution. Brainstorm an idea. Think about why it happens. But don't just complain.Gui_PT said:
Vehicles have been stupid ever since Halo 2. Halo CE had it right when your grenades actually did something to them. Not only is it more realistic, but it makes vehicles less overpowered and forces those who use vehicles to be more careful and practical with them. It was always so fun and rewarding whenever you got a stick or a well placed frag grenade on a hog running away with the flag. Bring back those vehicle and grenade physics please. Or, like someone said earlier, make it possible to shoot out the tires so it makes driving, or turning, the hog slower.
Just make a voting system where you can vote to concede the match. That way each side doesn't have to waste their time. It could work in a way so that when one person leaves, the option will unlock where you can vote to end the match. Well late with this but I'm really hyped for Reach. A bit anxious about the assassination change and the balance issues regarding the armour abilities but I have faith in Bungie to pull it off. Getting caught up with all the info and can't believe there are complaints about the graphics 7-8 months before release :lol
Speaking about getting left alone in games, I've been getting into big team recently and there's nothing worse than someone quitting and taking 3 guests with them. Anyone else think quitting with guests should carry a harsher punishment than quitting alone?

I think those screenshots were optimized for release in GI and EDGE, thus optimized for CMYK which has a totally different color balance than any computer screen, making them look... not so great when viewed on one. I am sure once you see the done game on a good TV set, it will look just as good as most modern shooters.
