When the shields are right about to fail in Halo 3, the model is basically covered in a bright yellow light. From what I read, they want to do an effect this time that still clearly transmits that info to whoever is shooting you, but still lets them see your character model.Kapura said:

I've seen the facial capture gear and usually that is done offline and mimed to the record as well. I can see that if they could record it if they had a good quality sound room within the stage setup.
Often the mo-cap actors you use are not your real voice actors due to cost concerns, as well as flexibility in performance.
Obviously, if you could get motion, facial, audio, etc with the right actors that would be ideal but it is down to time and money.

I'm really enjoying the community playlist. It's too bad there wasn't a permanent one throughout Halo 3's lifespan. Hopefully that changes with Reach.

I never actually got xbox live till Halo 3 came out, so except for the odd match here and there I never played Halo 2, I played the hell out of Halo CE for that entire time and when 3 came out played that non stop (till now!)
I tried playing H2 a while back and the lack of bumper jumper threw me off, I was still doing well but could barely control it :lol
But yeah, help me see what I missed out on GAF!

The only thing I am not looking forward to after we see the Reach gameplay in motion for the first time is the inevitable amount of trolls that will be quick on the scene screaming about things like AA and resolution or any of the other issues of the day.
Thankfully the majority of us here are pretty excited to see anything at all. Hopefully afterwards we can get some direct captures to download.
When is X10, in a few days time right?

I'm pretty sure we'll be having a Halo 2 night, even if I never played it much myself, it's a good excuse to have a goodbye night at some point.

Was trying to play some Halo 2 earlier and every playlist needed the downloadable maps. I kept getting errors trying to download them and everyone else has been too. Bad times :/
