I talked with him about the signature hate thing while in a game. When i attempted to apologize for what i thought was a GAF hazing gone bad (which i had participated in"~nok.~nok., ~who's there?", thinking it was all in good fun at the time), he stopped me short and said that it didn't bother him in the least. He came in fully expecting to get grief for the signature, and that he had been through it many times before. If you are feeling guilt over harassing him about it, please, let it go.

I love the idea of dedicating the HaloGAF montage to B.B., but I'm not sure I like the idea of using Tom's clip or the "why Tom" screenshot from Standoff. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, I don't know, I just would rather see a clip or screenshot of him doing a warthog barrel roll or making a heroic flag capture than him getting killed over and over again for an Open Season, as funny as I'm sure he found that while he was still alive. If no clip can be found, I like the idea of featuring his avatar on a Spartan in some heroic Forge tribute (i.e., the MIA idea, but with a Banshee flyover or 15 gun salute or something). My two cents. What a sad bit of news - I'm sure urk will do something nice with the BWU for him, and it's nice to see everyone recognize his contributions to this community.

Hence the "i regret I don't have more clips". There are many games where the opposite thing happened - him just going to town on my ragdoll or whatever, or clips of me just failing to beat him.

BB always made quality posts, signature or not. it really saddens me that such a big Halo fan will never get to play what looks to be the pinnacle of the series, a game he surely dreamt about and had planned to spend entire days wrapped up in with his fiance. i hope those close to him can make it through this. If there is an in-game tutorial in the Beta, there needs to be two modes: one for people who've played Halo and just need to get up to speed, and one for people who don't play FPS's. I HATE tutorials that assume the player has never even seen a controller, but at the same time, people who need that tutorial should still get the option.

We used to run a fairly popular politics discussion chapter over at Bungie.net. He had the "Prime Minister" group role beneath my tyrannical kingly administration. Of course that must have been two years ago or more now, and it's sat idle since.

He was fairly young too. Guess the lesson is to not take things for granted.

As much as I prefer AotCR to Halo, it should be Halo.

1. The name of the level.
2. You can see the Halo in the background of the level. Not to mention the mysterious Forerunner structures that litter the ground of the level.

I mean, to me, it just seems like Halo would be a better send off.
