I do not know what to expect and what/who I am going to bug I just want to know how Halo is played online and whats so awesome about it. There is going to be a high possibility that I destroy everyones game though, just for the warning

What should I do and when should I be ready? I think the Halo 3 MP disk will be enough? I do not have any map DLC for Halo 3.

If by Halo 3 MP disk you mean the second disc that came with ODST, then you have all of the DLC for Halo 3. If you are talking about the original Halo 3 disc, then you can get 3 of the map packs for free.

No thanks, I already feel bad enough about my sniping skills.

I have never, nor will I ever, be any good with any sniper rifle, in any game. I'm pretty sure its some kind of genetic flaw.

Wrong. Everything is baked lightmaps.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. It looks fine when you're playing pre-built maps but it kinda screws other people trying to make decent looking things with a map editor.

Sandbox's light orbs showed that even with Halo 3's pre-baked lighting it could still be altered quite a bit but I want to be able to make a enclosed structure and have it be completely dark until I add individual light sources in it. They've talked about each plasma shot casting creating its own light source, so I'd think they'd focus on something more practical before making glowy bullets.

It comes from shitty original xbox dvd tray rather than poor care. There was like 2 or 3 different manufacturers behind the trays I think (Phillips, Samsung, and then someone else), so you either got a good console or a poor one that like to scratch up your disk and sometimes not read them at all.

:lol I've gotten pretty damn good at it. I still get the occasional, "Are you playing Halo?" when my "yeahs" and "aww, that's too bads" fall out of sync.

I've been hoppin' into the Snipers playlist a lot recently and I've went from Sniper phobic to being able to aim in the general direction of an enemy. Massive improvement for me I must say.

I didn't see any of the rampant speculation and wall fights we usually have when there is more content. It basically boiled down to HaloGAF saying "The jetpack is gonna suck!" and HaloGAF replying "Yes, I agree." War has changed.

Its kind of sad thinking, that a year from release everyone will have found theyre 'load out' and variety will be lost. At least with the equipment system you end up picking grav lifts up randomly and then using them in hilarous situations. No one would really choose to spawn with one though.

Though, Evade+Sword/Plasma Repeater was also an extremely effective option. Man I love playing as an Elite.

And speaking of Urk.. it's 4:30PM, the update isn't published and he's MIA. I think he's upstairs in a playtest, at the expense of our loyal, loving community.

Playing as an Elite just sounds incredibly fun with the differences and advantages they have now.

As far as Urk being MIA goes, I forgive him. If I had the choice to playtest or finish up the weekly update, I am pretty sure I would be playtesting right now.

But yeah, playing as an Elite was pretty sweet. Though, on defense as a Spartan, I rolled with the Shotgun/Armor Lock load-out which was pretty ridiculous
