I own two copies... I ordered the LE online, but it did not show up on release date so I went out and bought the regular edition... Seemed crazy at the time but look at me now! ;)

Hmmm... So everyone else talking about their copies of Halo 2 being lost/stolen/broken is ok but when I discuss my Halo 2 disk dilemma I am immediately called out for it.

Please tell me how a post regarding having Halo 2 shipped to me and then discussing air assassination has nothing to do with Halo.

I try pretty hard to get along with all of you here, and for whatever reason I rub a lot of you the wrong way. I wish I didn't though, because from what I can tell you're a good bunch of people and one of the most active Halo communities out there. I just cannot understand where the hate comes from sometimes.

I apologize if my post was off topic though.

edit: wait, wait... I will admit I had to look up the word euphemisms, and I am still a little puzzled about your post. Can we be clear about something here, were you calling my post/posting in general bad?

What dude? I was joking that your post was about sex. Like, "set up my xbox and recover my gamertag" if it were a euphemism would secretly mean something else. Chill my friend. Peace and love.

Haha, yup. Update hit all the right spots:
- Invisible barriers around the map reduced in favor of a death countdown. Nother concern though, I hope it's not in campaign, I'd rather them have ridiculous invisible walls that people can glitch out off than have a mechanic that'll insure no one can explore the outside of maps.
- Invisible surfaces to smooth out the playing field... :D
- Went in depth description of both the needler and needle rifle (need to find a quick nickname for this one BTW GAF)

They mentioned the grenades were more powerful but less plentiful. I'm concerned that it won't to be the case because most of the loadouts on the loadout screen showed 2 grenades at start and the maps have a similar grenade count as the Halo 3 maps. Would be cool if one of the custom gametype settings changed grenade damage seperat from the rest of the damage. Actually, it'd be neat if they could do something like that with all the elements of the sandbox (vehicle damage, AR damage, etc.).

Any Bungie employee has been told the exact time XBL v1 will be shutting down? I want to be there for the final hours until they kick me off, but not like the 14 last hours straight.

I'd love it if the weapon depots from Halo 2 and 3 - the drop pods for UNSC and the purple weapon racks for the Covenant - get dropped off in each area you capture. That would explain the Phantom fly by in the trailer - dropping off weapon racks.

Aye. It's never been something I worried much about, but the attention to detail is getting absurd. They've really zeroed in on complaints about Halo 3.

Pretty pissed no store has Halo 2 =(. Picked up Far Cry 2 for pretty cheap though, going to make some maps. Not sure why I bought it, I just had to buy something. The MP sucks ass in this game.

[edit] Aw, wtf FC2. Where did my maps go? I even searched for maps made by me and my GoW map was there, I clicked to download and it disappeared. Bah.

[edit2]Wow I must've been caught in some weird mind control hype machine back when this first came out. This game is terrible. Now I feel like crap.

Sorry to detract from the Halo talk, but you should do a permadeath playthrough. It makes the game much better. :D

Don't need to worry about me stopping anytime soon. I've got a lot invested in making sure Reach is the best damn game, got a couple hundred hours set aside and they gotta be awesome. :p

:lol I'm playing some matches on some custom maps now. Trying to force myself to enjoy it. I better for $15. Gameplay is painful though after just playing Bad Company 2, which is so hot. Talking to these guys in the lobby. One went to go get McDonalds, we've been downloading a map for a while now. At least almost everyone has mics though, pretty cool. Maybe I'm just bummed because I couldn't find Halo 2 anywhere. Halo 3 might cheer me up.

This. Far Cry 2 is great for what it is, which is basically just a Sandbox game played from the first-person. The fire mechanics, weapon degradation, and AI respawn system are all pretty cool features too.

Plus, its fucking beautiful.

I love since the past few days I've been playing Halo 2 again I've seen KSI members, kids talking about Runescape, and "pro" kids with modded controllers trash talking :lol

Gotta say im a bit dissapointed with the footage i have seen, looks just like Halo 3 mp with extras.

I hoped for a more dramatic change ... ah well, i'll just play the beta and see from there.

The game is undergoing some pretty massive changes in MP, but there was no reason to believe the core gameplay mechanics would change, if it ain't broke, ya know.

I really don't think Reach will change anyone's opinions on Halo, people who didn't like 3 probably won't like Reach either, but they're changing up enough that people who have played 8k+ games of 2 & 3 will find a more refreshing experience, IMO.

I want more info aswell! I wanna know when Bungie are playing and what playlist they will be in, hopefully they give us this info. I doubt im going to stay up till the last game, but I will play all day to potentially play Bungie.

Im also interested in the different compitions, so far it seems like:
  • Playing H2 ever gets you a emblem in Reach
  • Playing H2 on its last day (with Bungie?) gets you unique armour
  • The number compition 'guess the last game' gets you a unknown prize
  • Getting the LAST EVER point online gets you a unknown prize

P.S. I feel ashamed to admit I watched the 'Top 5 kills' series on waypoint, but the 'boarding' episode had some pretty cool gameplay clips. I think EazyB was featured as clip number 1, so congrats!

I believe they don't have said anything about Forge, don't think they are gonna answer to this. Just wait and see.

And of playing against Bungie I have really bad memories from endlessly being in matchmaking on Bungie day without a reward. And then this time it's also on a bad day for me. But I know I will play Halo 2 that day.

OOH theres a countdown to when the Oxbox servers go down on Major Nelsons blog now, this will definatly help us plan for when to get into the final game.

Thats roughly 9:30 am for me - im planning to wake up early and play.
