Sorry for the Derek head at the start but he's part of the second in which it begins.

Neat Sword Assassination thingy?

BEATEN! AND BETTER QUALITY!

NICE BUNGIE! For those of us tired of tea-bagging taunts they've added "THE SHOCKER" taunt, taking two in the pink, one in the stink to a whole new level.

- "Teammate waiting to respawn (enemy nearby)"

Have to clear your immediate area of enemies before you can allow your teammate to spawn near you (Invasion Slayer)

- Elites need to deliver package to area indicated by a skull icon visible in the HUD (Invasion Slayer)
Sounds like the campaign structure; always remembered in co-op from Halo: CE that when my partner or I die, we can't spawn until it is safe.

Still skeptical on the aliasing factor. :\

Absolutely ridiculous. The dynamic spawn system, the Elite assassination animation, how absurdly pretty it all looks. Damn.

Some concrete details on how the Invasion gametype actually worked would have been good - what's the difference between Slayer and regular, what is the objective (i.e., how do stages unlock). You know, how the gametype works. Hopefully b.net goes on cleanup duty earlier rather than later next week.

Incredibly impressive.

This feels like it's going to be a true sequel to the original Halo: CE. I always felt that Halo 3 was more or less a direct sequel to Halo 2, rather than the original Halo.

This game is going to be epic.

Can someone explain how the respawn system is going to work? I first thought that the respawn system works like it does in campaign (teammate cannot respawn, enemies nearby) but couldn't that be abused if the enemy team knew the respawn sections and just stayed in the vicinity? Don't get me wrong, I am glad that they are tweaking/redoing the respawn system as it was absolutely horrid in Halo 3. I'm just not entirely sure how this new one works.

Anyone else notice the huge difference in the physics when compared to the multiplayer trailer? The bodys react so naturally when hitting the floor, the best body physics ive seen next to Euphoria's Natural Motion physics engine.

Seemed like you could either choose to spawn near your "spawn buddy", but only if the area is clear of enemies, or choose a spawn area from several around the map. So the other team would have to control all of them, and that's probably going to be impossible.

Spawning near team mates is really going to change the flow of the game. Instead of spawning back at base, you could be spawning close to where the front lines are. Time between firefights is going to be much shorter.

Edit: in the HD footage, when the Ghost is zipping around, he's getting a message that a team mate is trying to spawn near him. So no need to yell at someone to get into a safe place. Nice.

I haven't played CE in so long I had to Google this just to make sure i didn't somehow brainfart and skip over this feature. XD

I don't want to say things without knowing, but I think it would be logical to consider the spawn system would allow you to choose whether to spawn on a friendly dynamically; and if that is not available, you'd use the regular built in spawns like H3.

Dear god it looks so much more crisp than with the GTTV player.

And i thought it was the source video itself that had crap quality when you fullscreened it vs watching it windowed in the player...

TYVM for posting the source video. I'm wondering if there's a way for us to get the source video of other episodes using this method?

Wait, what? Grunts in Invasion Slayer? Is that what's meant by "reinforcements"? Maybe we get marines to come out and help?

I can grab the links if there's any episodes you want, or you do it yourself using a Firefox extension called FlashGot.

I noticed that in one part it says "blah blah...dropped the core", so apparently it's like a flag or something. My guess, gotta grab the core and take it to the door of the final area, something like that.

I'm pumped that it's basically like Killzone 2 where the objective will be something different in phases, so good.

Okay, well, it looked too small to be an elite, and it looked like the right shape to be a grunt.

Oh and I love the fact that you can be saved from assassinations, not the lame stuff like Gears 2 where even if the guy got popped with the sniper you were still gibbed.

You can also steal the kill if you kill the person receiving the assassination :lol

There are medals associated with both acts.

I believe that this is the core.

I'm too lazy to find my post where I said it would be Unreal Tournament's Assault but with dynamic spawns.

But, y'know, called it.

Downloading the footage now.

I had a lot to catch up on this morning.

The Goal in Invasion Attack and Defense is to protect the Core. The attackers are the elites and the Spartans are the protectors. Cant wait to play it :)

I also called you'd be happy! Makes me even more bummed I didn't get to playe Invasion yesterday. And I didn't get to play as an Elite either! Should've voted for Covie slayer. :(

Invasion looks extremely cool with loadouts, vehicles, multiple objectives and tiers, and different spawning system.
