Pretty quiet here in this part of Florida. Another four hours and forty five minutes to go....
 
My apartment overlooks all of southern Hamburg. At 00:00, it looked like a bad CGI film. Was ridiculous. I wish I had an HD camera or something. Maybe next year.

So, 3 hours in. It looks the same as last decade, only few new features are introduced and the npc's seem mostly recycled from previous year. It's still fun and some particle effects are nice.

Will this be the year when hovercars finally become the standard mode of transportation?

I just checked and it say ABC is still doing the Dick Clark's New Years thing. Are they really making him do it again this year? It was really sad to watch last year.

Seriously. I finished some cool stuff, but I suffered through depression for the whole year. Here's hoping it was the low point!
 
When I was a kid, I wished my grandparents would live into the next decade. There was something about them seeing the new millennium/century with the rest of us that was neat to me, considering my grandma grew up at a time when there were very few commercial planes in the sky. My grandfather died of throat cancer in 1998, but my remaining three grandparents made it to 2000 and beyond. Almost five years ago, my dad's dad died of cancer as well. Now it's almost 2010, and a full decade has passed. My mom's mom, who is still fascinated that planes can stay in the air, is almost 86 years old. My dad's mom is 82. I think this will be the last time that generation in my family makes it to another decade.

On the plus side, this next decade should be pretty good. On a personal and general level, this last decade was an overall crap shoot. The 10s can't possibly be as bad as the 00s, right?
 
This decade was pretty awful, for the most part.

I sincerely hope things improve, and improve greatly next decade. We all deserve better. Otherwise, I don't want to think about the alternative.
