Was just watching Ghostbusters the other day.

Didn't realize he was sick. Guess everyone we know will go at some point, but with each significant figure from my childhood passing the world gets slightly less colorful.

RIP.

Damn, 2014 is already rough with the celebrity deaths.

Ramis was a great comedic writer, director, and actor. He was a true triple threat, and most of his movies will live on for years to come.

RIP.

The weird thing is, as much as Groundhog Day is more holy to me than any religious text and with as many hours as I've spent watching Ghostbusters and Caddyshack-- Ramis made some duds. Year One is painfully awful, and the only movie I've consciously walked out of. Ghostbusters 3 sounded like a bad idea from every angle. That almost makes me more affectionate for his work. If someone can screw up that badly, the masterpieces look all the more impressive.
I wonder if Bill Murray will attend the funeral. The two have been estranged for a while.
They made semi-good, supposedly. Murray visited Ramis sometime recently and they were cordial.

Holy shit, no :(. Just one week ago I was rewatching Stripes. Love him in that. I wonder what this means for the new Ghostbusters. I new the old gang was just going to have a small part, and that Bill Murray probably wouldn't do it (I guess now he won't do it at all, the original idea of him having a cameo as a ghost seems extra morbid now), but I guess they're probably better of not doing it at all now.

This man was a huge part of my childhood. He comes from a time where big Hollywood comedies felt a lot more personal. RIP :(.

Ghostbusters and Stripes were 2 of the best films I watched when I was growing up. It's only fitting that I watch at least 1 of them when I get home this evening.

RIP Egon/Russell.

I honestly kind of thought Aykroyd would be the first Ghostbuster to go. Dan's younger but I remember him looking in rough shape in recent years.
