it'll be like the hippogryph from the last movie, partly puppet and entirely aided by CG. having a physical object as the base does wonders for realism; it's what made the hippogryph so memorable.

Good God, the hippogryph was phenomenal! One of the better CGI creatures I've ever scene. Excellent interaction with real characters, beautifully modeled, rendered and animated... man, you must be severely jaded if you found that unimpressive. Watch the hippogryph scenes again.

And yes, the hippogryph was awesome. The werewolf, on the other hand...

I loved the werewolf too. It was very, very different, creepy, and somehow managed to convey Thewlis' thin frame. Plus, story wise, it had to NOT look like a wolf or dog so as to contrast with Sirius Black's dog form.
