Has anyone actually used the term "post-racial America" in an unironic sense?

I mean, I know it was used a lot by mainstream media around the time Obama was elected, but I haven't really seen it used that much over the past years. Then again, I haven't actually paid attention to mainstream media in the first place.

And to be honest, it seems like it was never meant to be taken seriously in the first place. Maybe it's just me though.

Hell no. That's such a "media" phrase, NO ONE talks like that in "real" life. I do think in terms of race issues we've made a lot of progress over time but we have a LONG way to go.

Well no. But the adjective "post-racial" can be used sans irony. Let's say an existing policy tries to achieve a certain goal by providing different benefits to and/or imposing different rules on different races. If someone proposes a new policy that tries to achieve the same goal without targeting race, it can appropriately be described as "post-racial."

In reference to how things are currently, or in reference to how people would like to see things in the future?

The former, though I've seen a lot of people on the internet also use it for the latter. Then again, it's the internet.
