New Songs
  • “Ai Dee” by Michie M

Fuck yeah, one of my favs.

I'm really loving all the new modules. The medley ones look so dorky that they're kind of awesome.

And they let you change the lighting in edit mode now! I've been wanting that option for years.

Those new modules look great, especially the cool medley.

Also, seems like a lot of the menus/game structure is coming from Miracle Girls Festival. Most of which I enjoyed.

Today's Weekly Diva Station update reveals some of the preorder bonuses. Some more details on the extras I previously highlihgted:

Amazon.co.jp: PS Vita original system theme
AmiAmi: IC card case (original neck strap) - illustrated by Y-ojisan
Neowing (CD Japan): original microfiber towel - illustrated by LamazeP
Sega Store: original tapestry (B3 size) - illustrated by KEI

Some of the artwork has also been released, though none of what they show is particularly accessible outside Japan so far.

Also, since HypnoDarkrai linked the previous DIVA X update but left out the modules, here's an image dump:

Actually doesn't seem shortened at all. Official MV, album version is 3:41. More typical for game versions to be edited. MGF had full/short versions, which was both good and bad.

Wait, this is the first I'm hearing of medley tracks. Are they playable? Playing a mix of four Giga-P tracks would be so gooood.

Looks like the shoulder buttons are used for the slide notes. But I wonder what the deal is with the face and arrow buttons. It looks like they are not interchangeable and you choose in the options which color you want to hit with face buttons/ arrow buttons. Seems unnecessarily restrictive.

I'm hoping that's just changing the display and not the controls themselves, like in Project Mirai. Did they say anything about that?

I don't speak Japanese but I hope you're right.

In the youtube comments someone is talking about a price of 34800yen (=270€). Is this just speculation or was it mentioned anywhere?

I just watched the footage and the setting is called "Melody Icon Setting" which indicates that it only changes the icon which is displayed but you can still hit those notes with either the corresponding face buttons or the dpad. If you look closely at the gameplay sections where you can see her holding the controller, you can see that she is sometimes double wielding or using the directional buttons instead of the displayed face-button and vice versa.

Lokking at the 3rd song, it seems like you can use the analog sticks for the slide notes as well (and the touchpad if I understood it correctly).
You can see this at this part of the video (you can also see that double wielding works) https://youtu.be/51SbaGYJ2wQ?t=29m38s

Looks really good though. I hope we'll get some official information on release date and pricing soon.

New Songs

“Hitorinbo Envy” by Denpol-P

“Hikyou Sentai Urotander” by Shin-P

“Cute Medley” arranged by Mitchie M (Eazy Dance, Freely Tomorrow, Viva Happy, Ageage Again, and Idol wo Sakase)

Modules

Layered Envy (Shin-ichi Satake)

Twinkle Star, Lyrical Star, Radical Star, Fresh Star, Splash Star, and Passion Star (Tama)

Hikyou Blue, Hikyou Red, Hikyou Green, Hikyou Orange, Hikyou Yellow, and Nazo no Onna Kanbu (Tamotsu Shinohara)

I think I'll import Diva X for the Vita, I'm just worried that the Quest mode ups the language barrier too much. Do we know how.. "complex" it is yet?

I had no problem navigating IAVT or P4DAN in Japanese just by reading Katakana.

Would've preferred Viva Happy as a full song, but I'll take it.

There's some dialogue (probably unvoiced but they might go all talkloid) and the quest mode has special win conditions and such. The latter shouldn't be too hard to figure out with knowledge of hiragana and katakana.

Miracle Girls Festival had a fair amount of dialogue in its quest (tour) mode, but it was mostly inconsequential stuff that simply added some background to the idea that all these random people were on stage singing together. It would add to the experience if you could understand it, but otherwise there were no complex branching story options or anything.

I imagine in PDX there might be special clear conditions like there have always been for modules, etc., but I'm sure those will end up on projectdivawiki in no time. I expect it to be similar to Step Up Play in IA/VT.

Sounds good, I can live without the flavor dialogue. IAVT also had clear conditions and those were easy to figure out

So happy to see Eazy Dance in Mitchie M's medley, it's one of his top best tracks despite being less popular than his other released songs but I never really expected to see it in a PjD game.
Also I don't think this was mentioned yet but this one official blog post confirmed other 2 songs:

Satisfaction / kz(livetune)
LOL -Lots of Laugh- / mikumix

A brand new livetune song and a Mirai return.

Mitchiem medley! Yes!

Has childish war been confirmed for the game?

Cause I found a playlist on YouTube that had soothed announced tracks including that one

It seems a little strange that we can't use our own songs for edit mode anymore. I didn't use it much in the previous games but this still sucks for the replay value.

I also hope the edit mode download isn't too large.

Edit:
Actually, on second thought I don't even know if I would bother downloading it as it is.
I also hope that this doesn't mean that Sega is going to be selling us usable edit mode songs.
